A lot of shit like this kept happening in 2011 and we later found out it was because everyone was busy getting issues ready for the New 52 relaunch books. I wouldn’t be surprised if they are making Johns finish Doomsday Clock before any other series so the line can be ready for the 2020 relaunch. Johns likely has to wrap up Doomsday Clock before Snyder’s JL starts the new Crisis.

Thing is, only Johns is the one endlessly delaying shit. Every other creative is releasing their stuff with no issues.

Johns is having trouble writing Doomsday Clock, because of perfectionism or a curse from Moore or because the rest of DC got out of sync with or a whole host of reasons
He needs to get it done ASAP, so they can sell it alongside the new TV show

He has to rewrite it to incorporate the Shazam who Laughs

That’s because people like Snyder and even Bendis are usually on time with their work. I mean it doesn’t take much time or thought to write their crap.

It already had white Lightning Lad shown in it, Bendis likely insisted that Didio forced Johns not to work on it anymore and abandon the whole project and driving force behind the whole current universe.

At first I thought it was just Stargirl and the DCU shows but there's probably shit going on behind the scenes like Shazam Who Laughs, Snyder/Bendis/King shit, Doomsdelay Clock, and future books like said.

IF there is a JSA book coming I can 100% believe Johns is literally stomping his foot on the ground demanding he be the one to write it and has already planned out the first couple arcs after DC ruined the book after he left.

It's worrying that no one other than Johns can write the DCU. He can't write everything forever.

Like Andreyko (nice Obsidian, nice Dr Midnite, put Sandra in Kate's history nice like, likes JSA) was RIGHT THERE when Johns left JSA but they chose Willingham. Then after he left, Andreyko AND Robinson AND Tomasi AND Trautman (JSA V Cobra) were RIGHT THERE, but they chose fucking Guggenheim. Like Robinson would probably be able to write a better JSA than he did knock off JLA?

I'm hearing that Doomsday Clock is done. Everything is finished. Didiot gates it, so he's holding it up, so Johns was holding up Shazam as a response. It was office dick measuring that has gotten out of hand. Last I heard, Warners was offering Johns a bigger seat at the TV table so that he doesn't bolt to Disney or just say frack it all and do creator owned superhero comics and TV. He has the connections to do anything he wants if Didiot chases him away from DC properties.

That would be fucking terrible.

One of the best things about JSA was how humble it was, even during that time when the team was horrifically OP... Alan Scott, Power Girl, KC Superman, Magog, Obsidian, Jakeem, Starman, etc all under one roof? And when somebody went rogue or evil they weren't complete assholes about it. I can't even imagine Al trying to get back in the team or how Alan would deal with Todd going nuts/taken over again with Snyder on board.

I'm not sure how much more Warners is going to put up with. Didiot is chasing away his best talent for Bendis and former Marvel barnacles. Snyder and his crew are at least C- to D+ level writers. The Bendis Barnacles are straight Fs across the board. That's why Shogun axed most of them. Harris has shit taste, but he usually runs a tighter ship than this. Didiot is all over the place with everything. He's a decent enough writer with Griffen to help, but he's a rubbish manager.

He needs to go, along with most of his hires from the past two years.

He's an executive producer with writing obligations on several DC television productions and showrunning Stargirl, on top of having to write an ongoing, a maxi, and an OGN. He's stretched himself too thin and the comics are suffering for it.

Bear in mind that this is also Geoff Johns. No matter your opinion on his writing the guy is infamous for flaking out and overpromising while taking literal years to actually deliver on the ideas he promises. This is one of the few times where the blame isn't on Didio, and in fact Didio did the only sane thing and moved on from Geoff's plans when it became clear he wasn't gonna deliver.

It's amazing how Johns missed the point of Manhattan so badly.

Not Bendis, if Akira is willing to keep Slott and Aaron, what makes anybody think he would have fired Bendis?

Why do you presume people like Tomasi, Robinson, Andreyko, etc. were interested or had even an elevator pitch for picking up JSA?
