If Samurai Jack can get a whole season for their finale, a Gumball movie isn’t impossible. Hell, they might be working on it but they don’t want to deter any attention away from Steven Universe’s movie.

The show wasn’t canceled, it was done in the creator’s terms. What might be canceled is the movie for the show, which is a completely different subject matter.

They were doing just that for a while, though. They were making so many episodes themed around the bears past as children it got annoying for fans because a lot of them prefer seeing their adult life in San Francisco.

The baby bears episodes are considered an arc though because of them going through the problem of being homeless, so the crew of the spin-off are chances are going to expand on that and show other things in it, such as how the three met.

A script being written is not the same thing as something being put into production by a studio or even being greenlit. For all intents and purposes the movie is not actually happening or being produced.

The movie was most likely approved of. Gumball was one of CN’s biggest shows that they actually had faith in airing. A likely problem was handling when or where they release/announce it.
