People used to say Nickelodeon "died" in 2004, since they cancelled the 90s shows then.
But nowadays, you've got Zoomers nostalgic for post-2004 Nick shows like El Tigre, Kappa Mikey, Penguins of Madagascar, iCarly, Big Time Rush, and Victorious. Interesting seeing the shift.
It's unironically going to die with the shift to streaming unless the cbs/viacom merger can produce something that can compete All it will have soon enough is Spongebob and some lucrative educational properties
Camden Clark
>caring about zoomers
Brody James
It’s so obviously fat idiots who say stuff like this.
Grayson Cooper
El tigre and Kappa Mickey weren’t really bad and you seems to forget how huge Icsrly was back then, there a reason the shipping wiki was so big, many people watch it
Tyler Gutierrez
This literally happens with fucking everything on the planet.
Ryder Perry
They're the majority of the internet now and seemingly washed away a lot of older users like a tidal wave, they should be cared about.
Daniel Ramirez
Who cares?
Nicholas Hall
I highly doubt that. Digital streaming has been around for who even knows how long and it hasn’t killed traditional tv yet, I don’t see it happening at all.
Levi Gray
Viacom are already making the move to internet-based services. They purchased Plutotv this year which is basically Livestreams of the cable channels Viacom owns.

The Netflix Nicktoon revivals are an early sign of Nick shifting to being a brand instead of a network.
Joshua Harris
Everyone should care about fans of Zoboomafoo. I do very deeply

Matthew Wilson
does anyone actually care about those other shows that aren't iCarly? That was like the last big show. People only care about Victorious because Ariana Grande was part of it
Daniel Green
El Tigre was always well-liked to begin with outside of those who were “nolstagia-blinded”.
You could say the same with PoM.
Cooper James
>being shocked that the people who were the kids watching Nickelodeon when we stopped watching it are nostalgic for the Nickelodeon of their youth
No shit, idiot.
Wyatt Ross
It's just funny because I remember people saying "Hopefully the kids will realize their Nick shows are terrible and start watching some 90s ones instead." Alas the "Be like me" efforts seemingly failed.

>Kappa Mikey You talking shit about Kappa Mikey?

>Nick shifting to being a brand instead of a network. Unironically remember when people were calling the Nick the rival of Disney. Looking at where they both are now is funny to me.
Daniel Price
Fuck this thread. Big Time Rush is hilarious.
Eli Harris
No way, KM was ahead of its time. It was a lot wittier than the commercials made it look.
John Sanchez
I feel like I’m the only one from the iCarly generation who thought that show was genuinely horrible. The premise was cringy and idealized, and the jokes were embarrassing. A big downgrade from Drake and Josh. Carly’s brother was the only good part.

Look at any music video from the 70s, 80s, or 90s. It's all the same. People saying stuff like "they don't make music like this anymore" and complaining about stuff they hear on the radio. Problem is that they think the old stuff is perfect because only the hits are still remembered. It's cherrypicking and biased. Every generation has their fair share of good and bad stuff. Even this generation of cartoons have some decent shows and they'll have a bigger impact on kids and teens who will grow up and feel nostalgic. That's the way it's always been and the way it'll always be. What everyone needs to understand is that their generation isn't the only good one and that even the current generation still has some amazing content.
And OP, now you know what it's like getting old. There never was "better" times, it's just that kids will always associate their childhood with no worries to media. That thing I used to see as "ruined" back in 2007 is now source of nostalgia for zoomers. Once your reach certain age you normally start to grow out of things you used to like and glorify the thing from the past.
The only thing that is true is Zombie Simpsons. This one you can actually prove by deeper analysis.
Parker Green
>The only thing that is true is Zombie Simpsons. This one you can actually prove by deeper analysis. Zombie Simpsons just keeps getting worse and worse so now you've got people who grew up with seasons 11-18 + the movie claiming those are good.
Caleb Wilson
Well yeah but those people are wrong.
Alexander Kelly
Reminds me of Sega Vs Nintendo.
Chase Sanders
Another instance of this are the star wars prequels. For like 15 years, it was a pastime on the internet to snarkily crack wise about those movies, but then around 2015 when the sequel trilogy came out, people started claiming the prequels were good.
Luke Wilson
Victorious is what got me into fanfiction. So I kind of fucking hate it for that.
I honestly don't know if I could ever call the prequels "good" but they certainly weren't as bad as the Disney Wars abortions.
William Clark
Another possibility is that lot of people actually did enjoy Episode I and maybe even Jar Jar Binks (like I did) but just had to hide it because of the nerd rage and professional criticism towards those movies. After all it was the time before the internet was a big thing so people actually believed movie critics. If a movie critic wrote in this year that Jar Jar Binks is an offensive racial caricature people would just laugh and rage something about SJWs, and most likely claim to like the movie out of spite.

Connor White
21 year old zoomer and i agree. The slow rotting death of the Simpsons is painful, and we're seeing it repeat with spongebob unless we rise up and put our foot down
Kayden Murphy
This.
James Lewis
>we're seeing it repeat with Spongebob Seeing it repeat? Spongebob has already been downhill since 2005.
Colton Diaz
Kappa Mikey was great. Never gave a shit about any of the other shows on there.
t. born in 1995
Charles Campbell
>El Tigre >Kappa Mikey Better not talk shit about those shows, OP.
I never cared much for Kappa Mikey, but it's themesong is fangoddamntastic, I find myself singing it occasionally. El Tigre had a good premise, but never explored it deep enough, the pull between good and evil in his blood.
From what I've seen it's more like "Everything was better when you were 5-10" for most people
Cameron Wright
I swear to fuck these threads are made by one autist spamming them on multiple boards >Image made from random caps of youtube or facebook comments >People used to... >But now... something something gen z I see this exact format so fucking much it's insane
I swear the "you're just nostalgia blinded" argument is the most shit take you can have on modern media, thinking that everything is static and never changing in quality and can never really go to shit. The "everything is better when you were twelve" shit is just an excuse to shut down negative opinions and excuse poor quality products, and a big reason people use it is because it panders to children today and sounds like a smart fact (when it isn't).
Zachary Perez
Kappa Mikey technically is Cake Entertainment and that show never was distributed by Viacom
