What prompts a child to conjure an imaginary friend with a personality directly opposed to theirs?

Comedy.

>conjure
well for starters it's not magic

What would you call it, then?

opposites attract

i think the generally accepted term is developmental psychology

I thought he was created by Madame Foster as a child.

>Using your mind to materialize creatures that can be seen by others and interact with the physical world
>Not magic

Games would get boring if you were always on the same team.

That's called tulpas, right?

He was. Nobody's saying he wasn't.

How has this not been weaponized

Maybe out of a desire for a parental figure?

That's the best example you can show us?
A fucking generic edgy anime shit?
Even using Za Warudo is better

Here's the most powerful human in all of the Foster's universe. Say something nice.

>ZA WARUDO

Herriman wasn't created as a stick-in-the-mud. He became that way after interacting with humans for over 50 years.

In Good Wilt Hunting, Edwardo's creator is shown to be a cop. She created Edwardo because she needed someone to protect her, which is why he's huge and scary looking, but she ALSO needed someone to teach her to stand up for herself and others, which is why despite being fucking huge and scary he's also an absolute wuss.

Kids grow and develop
Imaginary friends don't

Conflict detected

>this guy could possess literal weapons and take over the world if he felt like it

In fusion fall it was weaponized against Fuse.

So you're saying that Loli I imagine...

despite his posh and stuffy attitude, he does have a very grandfatherly attitude
just look at Funny Bunny

Why are their seemingly no laws protecting the rights of imaginary friends? There's no way that anyone could see them as anything less than sentient.
Do they die of old age? If not, why is the world not overpopulated from millennium of children creating them?
Are adults incapable of creating imaginary friends? When do people lose their ability to do so?

>When do people lose their ability to do so?
When their innocence dies, probably.

It’s probably because she needed a father figure or something similar in her life: a person to lay down rules and give her advice for what’s best for her.

As much as people hate rules, having some rules and guidelines really does help, especially children. No one wants a household that they can do whatever they wanted without someone caring to lay some down so that they are not harmed.

Didn't they say sometimes the imaginary friend is suppose to help the kid overcome a insecurity or personality trait that allow them grow up? Like how Eduardo is protective, but also easily scare, so the girl that created her learned to be brave

So what’s Bloo?

>sometimes

Bloo is the chad that Mac wishes he could be.

Bloo is selfish, impulsive, and prone to crazy ideas and activities. Mac was the little brother to Terrance. Perhaps Bloo served as someone he could have fun with and learn to be assertive, while also teaching him to stand up for himself and lay down limits since bloo tended to get a little crazy when let off the leash

Honestly him getting his comeuppance in certain episodes is satisfying as fuck.

>How has this not been weaponized

Do you remember the battle beast episode?
Eduardo was more powerful and could beat all the other -specifically imagined- living weapons while throwing blind tantrums. Imaginary friends are more powerful and better put together based on the psychological need and intention anchoring their existence.

If I remember correctly Eduardo was imagined by a little latino girl in a crime-heavy neighborhood as an imaginary friend that could protect her from the very real danger that surrounded her.

>Imaginary friends are more powerful and better put together based on the psychological need and intention anchoring their existence.
So if you're a kid trapped in a war zone you could just imagine an unstoppable missile to nuke the bad guys with?

Because that's what she needed. And she didn't conjure him, she imagined him

This sadly, she might’ve been a foster kid herself.

Theoretically,
But I’m pretty sure it won’t be like Superman tier.
Maybe imaginary friends have limits to how strong they can be

Your imaginary friend wouldn't normally harm you, as they are created with the love of their creator built in. A long range ballistic tactical nuke imaginary friend that can accurately hit a far away invading country's capital seems iffy at best.

At first I didn't get the joke but then it clicked. Fuck that gels way better with the name.

Why was it 'The World' anyway? I get stands in SD were framed around Tarot but how the fuck does 'The World' stop time?

Spontaneity and assertiveness, both of which Mac lacks.
