Snow Queen
There's a bunch from Melnitsa that are pretty good. Decent animation quality, not really highbrow stuff but fairly amusing.
Based.
Kids love her.
Does she teach financial literacy?

it's half way through for the bun if you want the bun.
Nice looking comfy show. Are there subs?
Is that what they're called? I've found the movies on youtube but without English subs I have no idea what they're saying. So two questions: 1) what are their full western titles, and 2) where can I find a place to buy them?
This is immediately the first thing that came to mind.
For children, of course, but well-animated and intelligently written considering its audience.
Episodes are sequentially numbered and there's an ongoing plot -- unlike Western shows which are intended to be rerun forever in random order in syndication.
First half of first season (12 episodes) WERE on YouTube in English, but now appear to be blocked in the US.
Not entirely sure, since I watched them on youtube as well without subtitles. Movies are usually named after the individual bogatyr (Dobrynya Nikitich, Ilya Muromets, and Alyosha Popovich) or named The Three Bogatyr and whatever problem they're tackling that time.
Note: they draw heavily on Slavic mythology.
Baba Yaga and Koschei are characters, "sanitized" so as not to give kids nightmares. They're at the extreme edges of the picture.

Not a lot. Russia kind of sort just DOESN'T make good original animation, for whatever reason.
Found first 2 episodes still available.

YouTube's "rules" make no sense.
Speaking of the three bogatyrs, there's also a neat "silent" comedy webseries unrelated to the big budget franchise

Heroes of Envell
Heroes of Envell from same studio as Fantasy Patrol. Similar art style and character design.

Hell, I'd watch that. As long as the villain is not the only cool thing in it.
OwO Cute! Who is that?
That rabbit from Nu, Pogodi!
Damn he transitioned fine.
Thought that was more up Wolf's alley, though.
Yeah, Captain Pronin
I get the feeling that merchant is messing them for shits and giggles.
I'd love to see some actual super old school Soviet propaganda cartoons
yes
Well, looks like THAT THING was dubbed in English. And the dub is above tolerable

I can die a happy man when somebody makes this subbed
Wasn't there some controversy that this was basically ripping off Gravity Falls?

If ya'll insist

>ripping off Gravity Falls
Not doing a good enough job there, then

Oh my days. I thought you were joking.
Smeshariki is actually smart and funny show. But it's for kids obviously. There are no cartoons for teens because local market is very small.
Today I found about this Little Mermaid animation so I might as well post it here.

>Russian Orthadox Sith!
I was actually impressed by the comic book style transition.

There are more episodes but I don't think they are subbed which is a shame because I kind want to follow it more since it's rare to get media set in the 17th century.
Yeah, this smug motherfucker is like ACME Co.
why do they need PSAs for this sort of thing?
shirely there arent enough people doing them that it's a major problem
If there was controversy, I hadn't heard.
Of course, I don't understand Russian.
And I didn't watch "Gravity Falls".
Now THIS looks like a rip-off; the "bean mouth" typical of SiberianArts.
Nah
It's Russia. You never know.
>Kids love her.
Dude, my dad loves that.
>Orthodox christian monk walks around kicking slav monsters ass and takind names in cyrillic
This hards my Hardbass
I believe that's true for pretty much the whole eastern Europe. There are cartoons for kids and a few edgy ones for adults but nothing in between.
