For how well planned out a lot of the stuff in One Piece is I feel like Haki was poorly thought out. Characters like Ace never bothering to use armor haki even though there is no way in hell he could reach the level he did in the pirate world without it shows how it wasn't properly thought out. It also increases the power difference between the monster trio and everybody else since I'm pretty sure the only one besides them with haki at all is Usopp.

It got crushed by being stomped on, and by the size of an apple i can only guess he means the box was flattened to the height of an apple. Which is a really poor way to describe that. And it's still not very accurate. Maybe more like 4 big apples stacked on top of each other

People in the Marineford war were using Armament Haki. Hell, that's why Ben Beckman was able to scare Kizaru with a pistol. There was just no visual cue that the power was in use. It was always the latter though. Devil Fruits are weird powers but what matters is how they're used and develop with training and experimentation rather than just having a good power. Otherwise Foxy would've been an end series boss.

Law probably has the wildest jumps in power compared to whoever he is fighting. Sometimes he is completely OP and other times he is manhandled in the worst way. At first I thought he was effectively god inside his little dome because he took care of Virgo and Smoker with no trouble, but then Doflamingo had zero trouble stopping him inside it. And now mid level Kaido minions are doing the same.

Luffy is learning how to bypass Kaido's super tough skin by learning the Wano trick of shooting haki into someone with a regular punch. So we will see how that goes, His Gear 4th was pretty much nothing against Kaido the first time.

Haki was sort of introduced with CP9 and their members having numbered powerlevels after training in super martial arts that let them become more powerful than most devilfruit users. When Lucci can exterminate an island with just fists, fly, shoot energy from his fingers, and make himself bulletproof with a named trained skill then we basically have haki in the series in all but name.

How long until Reed figures out everything there is to know about Devil Fruits including how to totally negate them?

Then, seeing he has an audience, Plas would turn into a boat, which would make Luffy ask him to join his crew as the second boat.
