>Steven Universe: The Movie plays less as a sequel to the series so far than a Greatest Hits collection — almost a primer for newcomers, even if it won’t have the same impact on them that 160 bite-sized episodes of TV had on the veterans.
The movie takes place a few years after the Season Five finale, and early on features a long expository musical number about who everyone is and how they all got happy endings when last they appeared. Then along comes a mysterious new Gem who at times resembles Bugs Bunny at his most anarchic, at others the elastically cheerful Steamboat Willie-era Mickey Mouse. Her attacks give the Crystal Gems a kind of factory reboot that erases all the emotional progress they made during the series, forcing Steven to recreate important moments from their lives to bring them back to normal.
>rolling stone dot com I'm not giving those bastard a click
James Cooper
So Peridot will go back to her original version?
Caleb Cook
So it's basically a clip show with a massive budget and advertising?
Jacob Powell
Has anyone expected a standalone TV movie musical to expand upon the plot as a direct continuation of a series that is by decree of the creator over and only sees more content as a sequel to the original show?
Ayden Gray
Something dull but but with more effort than this.
Yeah, we expected a bridge or more content, not a rehash.
Kevin Wood
>It's one of those mid-season episodes of Freinds when the studio ran out of money and the cast would stay on a couch having flashbacks to season 1 and 2 for 40 minutes
Nah once the reboot is out, he actually needs flying lessons from Amethyst.
Jaxon Mitchell
So not only is it a self contained story with little bearing on future events, and not only is the villain going to be stopped by talking and redeemed again by the end, but it's also mostly just a recap of what development the characters went through? Sounds like it's a sort of condensed version of the everything that happened in the show aimed at people who haven't seen a single episode, the review even describes it as a rehash
Blake Richardson
>a long expository musical number about who everyone is and how they all got happy endings when last they appeared So, this is what I get? After so many years, after so much suffering, I only got like 20 seconds of musical number about how happy she is now
I THOUGH THIS WAS THE FINAL THING WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK. HOW IS THIS ALLOWED TO CONTINUE THEY HAVE LITERALLY RESOLVED ALL LOSE ENDS.
Robert Morgan
No. Jasper is the only character who didn't get a happy ending by the end of Change Your Mind. During the song the camera will just pass over her crying in a corner while everyone else dances and sings.
Jaxon Williams
Post yfw you stopped watching the show after it peaked at Jailbreak.
Good, jasperfags were fucking annoying spammers when the show was in full swing and you faggots deserve as little as possible. Literally lapidot-tier
Logan Reed
Sounds awful. Do we really need friendship no jutsu hamfisted into story about completely new character
Blake Morales
>Steven Universe: The Movie plays less as a sequel to the series so far than a Greatest Hits collection Goddamit I FUCKING KNEW IT >Her attacks give the Crystal Gems a kind of factory reboot that erases all the emotional progress they made during the series, forcing Steven to recreate important moments from their lives to bring them back to normal. Oh god this is gonna be awful
Christopher Myers
SU FAGS BTFO
Isaiah Wood
It's THE POWER OF FRIENDSHIP AND TALKING AND CRYING all over again lmao
Julian Sanders
I'd never expect such things from SU!
Isaiah Wright
>Given a budget to make a musical movie >you waste the second act on Steven recreating scenes from the original show >Main plot is a rehash of previous conflicts: "enemy gem comes out of nowhere and starts causing trouble" and the writers are aware of that Fuuuuck this.
So like a typical end of series anime movie. Gotcha.
Dominic Sanders
The saddest part here are the enemy gems, I always wanted an enemy based on 30's-40's cartoons, but knowing steven universe there would be a several lack of action scenes.
Lincoln Mitchell
>Her attacks give the Crystal Gems a kind of factory reboot that erases all the emotional progress they made during the series, forcing Steven to recreate important moments from their lives to bring them back to normal.
The more I think about it the less sense this makes as a coherent plot. I'll wait and see.
Ayden Wood
mega to movie? please?
Xavier Scott
It's not even out yet.
Gabriel Morales
>ERASES ALL EMOTIONAL DEVELOPMENT IN THE SERIES
NIGGER YOU W H A T!?
Alexander Rodriguez
Can't he fly already by swinging his legs very fast, or it's only available in Stevonnie mode?
Jeremiah Martin
Wasn't that just a reference to Yoshi island?
Tyler Morales
I'm almost sure he did it at least twice.
Hunter Sullivan
>There are people in this thread who didn't think the movie would be a stupid hacky piece of shit Seriously?
>Her attacks give the Crystal Gems a kind of factory reboot that erases all the emotional progress they made during the series So Lapis and Garnet are pretty much gonna be the same?
Asher Cooper
Fucking Digimon didn’t sink this low
Caleb Cooper
Just occured to me it's basically retreading Toy Story 3 Buzz storyline. Only not funny. Or interesting. And with crying and singing.
Nathan Bell
so Mario riding Yoshi is an allegory fusion now?
Liam Nguyen
there's still going to be season 6 as far as I know
Xavier Allen
>Spinel gets bodied in the first 20 minutes, the rest is Steven making a clip show in real time
>The movie will be a 2 year timeskip from the season 5 finale >Let's make it a recap episode, but with songs If Sugar was actually intelligent, she should've made the movie about what happened between Season 5 and 6. But no, let Season 6 do that and let's make a fucking recap movie.
>Her attacks give the Crystal Gems a kind of factory reboot that erases all the emotional progress they made during the series Didn't Undertale do this during the final battle?
Benjamin Phillips
Yea but at least it was fairly brief. Actually fastest part of that final fight...
Parker Jackson
At least Buzz didn´t put a pause to the rest of the story. This is directly interfering with the plot.
Cameron Wilson
So it's less "End of Evangelion" and more "Death and Rebirth."
Oh, goodie-goodie...
Juan Mitchell
I can't believe that steven turn the diamonds into statues!!!
Jose Davis
You think this one will bog down the pacing?
Jace Cook
If anything this plot summary just makes it more understandable why they would hold back her redemption for next season.
Jasper hasn't gotten the chance to go through a lot of emotional growth, her arc so far has been a tragic one where she came back to earth to avenge Pink Diamond and overcome her demons around her origins and fears of being a failure, but she continued to fail and ended getting trapped in an abusive fusion/relationship which resulted in her acting increasingly self destructively and succumbing to her self hatred and corruption instead, and we didn't get to see what happened to her after she was healed in change your mind, even post-time skip she might still be struggling with all the issues she had before corrupting and might not have even started coming to terms with Rose being Pink Diamond and her entire life being a lie.
They wouldn't be able to do the "her development is reset and Steven recreates important moments from her life to bring her back to normal" scenario with Jasper because her redemption hasn't happened, and the last time we saw her she still hated Steven and the crystal gems, and she hasn't been shown learning how to overcome her personal conflict yet. If her redemption happened over the timeskip and she was one of the gems who had her emotional growth reset and they tried recalling a bunch of offscreen development it would be awkward and confusing so they probably did the smart thing and just saved it all for later.
Jaxon Scott
Yes. If Stevonnie defuses, Steven floats around in a bubble crying until Connie pops it and they re-fuse.
Mason Lopez
Why would you stop watching at Jailbreak? That was literally the episode that got people interested in the show
Was thinking the same thing. This sounds like a worse version of Undertale's Pacifist-mode final battle.
Nolan Watson
Well, this is what you faggots were waiting for. You get what you deserve.
Anthony Evans
The reviews say no, but Yea Forums wil ignore those to push an agenda. You can already see people assuming the worst based on premise and not execution.
Elijah Nelson
Pretty easy when you already have the worst possible premise. They could get the thawed-out head of Walt Disney as the director and I'll still be amazed if they pull of something passable.
Sebastian Walker
regardless of what the movie entailed people where going to shit on it anyway desu, i mean shit there's still people that wan't su too be some battle shonen show regardless of the fact that it was never the idea behind the show pitch.
>Ignoring the glowing praise for the movie handling this premise Like I said: Agenda. Oh but I'm sure they're just shills.
Adam Cruz
>shit there's still people that wan't su too be some battle shonen show regardless of the fact that it was never the idea behind the show pitch. Well maybe they shouldn't advertise it as such at any given opportunity. I mean fuck, even this movie is advertising Spinel as this huge ass threat that Steven's going to have to fight when chances are that's not even going to be the case.
Anthony Fisher
She does the most damage we've seen yet in the series, what are you talking about? Being factory reset is way worse than poofing
the crew isn't responsible for how the show is advertised, you think they had any control over the "bloodstone" previews. this is like thinking they have control over the release schedule.
I’m going to write a mean, mean, mean letter to Rebecca!
FUCK STEVEN FUCK CONNIE FUCK GARNET FUCK AMETHYST FUCK PEARL FUCK THE DIAMONDS FUCK THE TOWNS PEOPLE FUCK THE REMAINING CAST FUCK THE WRITERS FUCK THE MOVIE FUCK THE SERIES FUCK THE SHOW FUCK REBECCA FUCK HER BROTHER FUCK THE FANS THAT ENCOURAGED THIS SHIT AND THE JANNIES!
Evan Hughes
Was the rolling stone thing even a review? I was referring more to like Variety, which does mention the repetition but also that it's intentionally part of the plot and ties into Steven's growth at the end.
Christian Evans
What the fuck does that have to with anything in that post? I'm taking about false advertising and how chances are Steven's not actually going to fight Spinel, not how much damage she's done. And it's not like it matters how much of a "threat" she is anyway when he's redeemed the Diamonds despite them being guilty of making horrific gem zombies and corrupted gems.
>which does mention the repetition but also that it's intentionally part of the plot and ties into Steven's growth at the end. >They meant to do it, so it's fine You realize a paid review is going to spin anything and everything into a positive, right?
Jose Jenkins
Damage is not just physical, look at what series you're watching. Also, why do you think he doesn't fight Spinel when you can clearly see them clashing in the first trailer?
Andrew Perez
You realize a Yea Forums post will spin anything positive into a negative, right? Pick your strawmen carefully user, hypocrisy is not a good look.
Isaiah Scott
>anything positive into a negative What positives have been revealed to us, aside from this movie's HIV status?
Jack Sanchez
The great pacing, songs the animation, ultimate solidification of character's arcs and that Steven grows as a character at the end. Greatest Hits is a compliment.
Juan White
>160 episodes wait did i waste 30 fucking hours watching steven universe?
Angel Butler
Hey it's the best way to win. Just ask Naruto
Justin Watson
>pearl goes back to being cripplingly insecure and rose-obsessed >amethyst goes back to being weighed down by the sense that she's a mistake and not good enough >garnet goes back to... talking less and kicking ass more hmm...
Kevin Anderson
You did. They literally clash. She has a scythe.
Gabriel Martinez
Depends on how you define those words, jimbo
Oliver Lewis
>Was the rolling stone thing even a review? Yes, and here's what they said about the thing >The structure of the movie can make it feel like a rehash of things the fans all know so well. (At one point, Steven even loudly complains that he is once again having to deal with the consequences of something his mother did.) Fortunately, it’s a rehash accompanied by a soundtrack of terrific original songs (co-written by, among others, Chance the Rapper, Aimee Mann, and Ted Leo) performed by Steven and friends.
So this review, which starts out praising the show to high hell and deliberately trying to mention any flaws(Read for yourself, there's not a single "This part was lacking" even), still basically admitted that this was just a rehash and you should only be excited because its has songs with it. Thank god! Here I was worried the rehash wouldn't have songs as the backdrop, but now that I know from the "Glowing Praise" of Steven meta complaining about how stupid this whole thing is, I can put my fears that this is going to be a sucky psuedo clipshow at rest.
Unlike all those other people who read a puffpiece that spends more time talking about past events than the movie its promoting and came to a conclusion, they just have an agenda to hate this thing no matter what.
You know what sucks worse than liking a show, defending that show when others derided it, and hating when it nosedives and just want it to be a little better? Having to listen to all the fans breathlessly defend really dumb choices and realize that at one point, you were one of them. Nothing sucks worse than seeing idiots claiming every negative thing is just some agenda to bring you down and they don't really mean it or would hate it anyway and realize you were just as stupid as they were.
Even Rolling stone concluded it was "Fun but inessential"
Alexander Green
wouldn't factory settings make them go right back? Like Pearl would be 100% obedient servant and not post PD manipulation
Lucas Howard
>blah blah blah i'm not out of touch, they are Just say what you actually mean next time and don't do the same thing you're accusing others of
David Brooks
>Her attacks give the Crystal Gems a kind of factory reboot that erases all the emotional progress they made during the series Because writing characters is harrrrrrrrd!
Christian Mitchell
And you know they're being genuine about all of that... how?
Elijah Barnes
Yeah, Garnet in S1 is stoic as a way of controlling her anxiety. Cotton Candy Garnet is in the movie via flashback and we know she's a goof
Hudson Hill
And you know they're wrong...how?
Zachary Davis
Shit ain't been released to the public yet. Why would you take some industry hack's word that it's going to be good?
Nathaniel Cook
There it is again, that mirrored reflection. Confused, unsure how to respond, no real argument but damn it you don't want to be wrong. So out comes "Say what you really want to say so I can ignore you!" even if it doesn't fit. You need that out, you need that win.
Then you feel old and realize it was 4 years ago.
Oliver Bennett
>Damage is not just physical, look at what series you're watching You mean the series that treats emotional trauma like it's no big deal and just sweeps any horrific shit characters do under the rug and everyone's just cool with it?
Ethan Peterson
logically yes, but steven cant recreate events he wasn't there for, and getting into stuff that happened between the CGs first meeting rose and steven's birth would be dangerously close to new content so i'm betting it just sets them to their season 1A selves
Bentley White
Because Yea Forums has proven time and again that they don't actually watch the show and get even the most basic facts wrong.
Alexander Long
What the gravy-filled fuck does that have to do with the price of tea in China?
Colton Diaz
What color is the sky in your world, user? It took five seasons to get the characters to the points they're currently at.
Christian Nelson
>I expected nothing and was still disappointed birthday party.jpg.
Only way to express this
Juan Gutierrez
So when the gems reform they won't cycle through their past forms, I guess?
Owen Cruz
Cotton candy Garnet appears but otherwise no
Leo Martinez
>>blah blah blah i'm not out of touch, they are Yeah pal, all us hip kids love paid reviews. We cool kids know that paid guys are the smart guys and they'd never lie or mislead us, especially for things they're paid for. When a review says its good, its good. Now to go pop in Ghostbusters, Answer the Call. Certified fresh, fellow kids!
Levi Kelly
>factory reset Ruby and Sapphire >they see each other and turn gay immediately anyway Huge success
Gabriel Jackson
Your movie is a fucking recap, are you happy, SUfags?
Hunter James
This isn't even the theater movie film for theatres
How would you know if you stopped watching though?
Luke Morales
Their gayness transcends time and space!
Xavier Harris
we assume the worst because these details are terrible. The idea that this movie is a “best hits” film instead of an actual movie that exceeds what the show was sounds bad. Sure, the execution can make it work, but it won’t make it anything more than “more SU shit”. It’s not ambitious like they’re hyping it up. It’s basic.
Ryder Wood
If this is tree of might when's Lord Slug?
Jaxon Carter
Just chillin' on top of the injector for the most part.
Rolling Stone also says the rehashing is backed up by great songs and sequences. It's not going to literally just show clips from the show and I'm not sure why people are taking the article to ne negative when they were positive about the film. Fun if inessential is basically what was expected.
Tyler Nguyen
*be
Justin Davis
So the whole movie is a clip show. How lazy can you get?
>Mike Krol >Ted Leo >Chance the fucking Rapper >uke
user have you even looked at the song list?
Jaxson Butler
They are playing all the episodes and seasons of SU to hype the movie, only for the movie to be just recapping all the shit you have watched.
ISN'T THAT A MARKETING GENIUS?!
Brayden Brown
>a clusterfuck of unfitting ukelele tunes and NOTHING FUCKING HAPPENING thats a pretty good summary of Steven Universe
Camden Morales
The movie reinforces the series, so yes. It's the ultimate cap on the series before they move onto the next saga
Ryder Lee
user he wen't with the assumption that it's a literal clip show and that no instrumental work would be used besides ukulele , it's pretty safe too say no.
>have you looked at the song list No, I looked at the artist list and it's a bunch of shit. The best songwriter among all these niggas is Rebecca and she should not be your standout fucking composer in a MUSICAL
Sebastian Martin
What the article doesn't point out is that Spinel is singing in pretty much all of the reform/reboot songs. She's going to be trolling throughout the whole movie
Jayden Brooks
Because the dumb ending to Jailbreak was a good indicator of how SU would end plots.
Michael Davis
The second Jasper arc that culminates in Earthlings was goat but after that it was just shit
Cooper Smith
>Implying you didn't just look at one artist you knew and applied that to the whole list If you think Ted Leo is a bad songwriter I don't know what to tell you.
Carter Murphy
>chance the rapper >Gallant Niggas do horribly boring and derivative R&B that I heard 30 years ago. >Fontleroy Nigga's biggest hits are him as a fucking ghostwriter for Rihanna and Bruno Mars >OHMME They've got good voices and natural harmonies but their music is weird shitty hippy drum circle chanting >Mike Krol HEY KIDS I HAVE A DISTORTION PEDAL AND I KNOW POWER CHORDS >Ted Leo Another good vocal performer with the most simplistic instrumentals imaginable
None of these motherfuckers have any experience with musicals. Most of these motherfuckers are practically interchangeable.
You have fun with the clip show and samey low-energy shit, I'm gonna go watch an actual fucking musical written by an actual fucking composer like Sondheim or Bernstein or even fucking Menken
K, I will. Why did you think that was going to be some kind of big burn?
Samuel Gonzalez
>i-i-I don't care that you think my taste in music is shit >i-i-I don't care that your dislike is informed >that's why I posted about how little I care! lurk moar
Ha ha ha! Oh, holy shit. I was expecting low-effort horseshit and we're getting a goddamn musical clip show. This is why I stick around, you guys. Because every single motherfucking time I think that Sugar can't stoop any lower she limbos right under the bar and sets a new record.
What a beautiful fucking train wreck.
Jordan Hill
That was clearly not referring to the music user, learn to read.
William Torres
Those guys are gay as fuck
Juan Clark
>Article states that Steven has to find a way to restore the gems emotional states with clearly original music and sequences >Yea Forums: HAHAHAA THIS IS A CLIP SHOW
Oh Yea Forums, your smooth brained takes are always good for a laugh. It's shit like this that just reinforces why the other boards mock you.
Ayden Smith
>hatecult shitposters represent all of Yea Forums i think you need your brain checked desu.
Luis Baker
>Steven recreates important moments moments in her life >throws her into a pit
He stages a play recreating Pink Diamond's fake shattering, shapeshifts into Garnet and beats her up, shapeshifts into Lapis to fusion rape her and drag her into the ocean until she goes insane again, throws her into a pit, punches her across the sea, fuses with Connie and beats her up, fuses with Amethyst and beats her up, shows her a picture of what she looked like before she contracted corruption aids
But really, this is what I mean, from the moment she was born into war all she's done is fight and suffer and she never got a chance to move on from her traumas and grief or climb out of her pit of self loathing, her corruption is symbolic of her being consumed by it because she wouldn't accept help or allow herself to heal, there's no emotional progress to reset so it wouldn't work with her. She has plenty of time to go through her own emotional growth next season.
Cooper Hill
Good write-up user.
Nolan Turner
>task of fixing lapis hits a stall when steven realizes there was no catalyst to take her from being terrified of the diamonds to being willing to fight them, it just kinda happened
Leo Clark
>Movie pans to Pearl >I..how did we get here, Garnet >Movie pans to Garnet, who suddenly has a flowchart >Ya got me. By all accounts it makes no sense
I get the reasoning in show, it's just clunky due to the forced POV
Carson Clark
I fucking Love those episodes
Matthew Wood
Fuck that sounds bad
Jayden Young
>not even based Ian can save that mess FUCK
Nathan Fisher
This money could have went to a real project,Any suggestions?
Sounds great honestly. Advances the story, reinforces the development and bonds between characters, ends with proper realization and growth for Steven (per the minor spoilers we know) and still has a good framework through Spinel.
I think it'll end up doing really well and even surprise some people.
Josiah Davis
Literally and unironically who?
Luis Davis
>Yes filler is good your favorite episode is the one where Steven calls Connie right?
Liam Foster
>Forwards the universe two years and ends with hints of what's coming next >Filler 90% of cartoons must be filler then
Lucas Garcia
apparently the budget wasn't much
Christopher Morales
Suggestions for what? What it could have gone to?
Liam Powell
filler at this point is a buzzword, it's weird really.
Luis Cooper
When you have people calling an analysis and reinforcement of ideals a "clipshow" I'm not surprised "filler" found its way into the thread. I dread them watching actual anime movies that do often just replay clips wholesale instead or animating, scoring and reconstructing characters through song.
The reviews agree that the concept is repetitive, but the execution just hammers home why SU is so good with emotional stuff.
Landon Long
>tfw posting the spoilers for the movie in random SU posts all over Instagram Who else here is D E V L I S H
Benjamin Hughes
I dunno, haven't seen it yet. Will definitely be avoiding Yea Forums over the weekend though lmao
Andrew Sullivan
filler has been used as a term against su for a long time some times you could argue it's accurate but what is set up and what is publicly know this isn't one of those cases, and neither is clip show, I've read a couple of reviews, although i have a general policy not too trust review sites outside of them having the same complaints/observations.
user, I think you might actually have a reading problem.
Adam Walker
>hatecult Why are SUfags so delusional?
Nathan Thomas
>trying to deny this shit even ironically not even worth the (you)
Xavier Richardson
Don't project. Trauma isn't glossed over in SU, it just doesn't dwell on it for five minutes at a time due to the frigging things being 11 mins long. Not to mention some characters keep things close to their chests (like Steven) even after it seems like everything is OK.
Oliver Peterson
>Her attacks give the Crystal Gems a kind of factory reboot that erases all the emotional progress... > In order to fix Pearl, Steven has to seduce her as Rose then cuck her with his own father
Austin Smith
kek
Angel Barnes
i'd pay to watch that movie
Samuel Butler
It's not a recap movie. The factory reset is just a gateway into Steven learning more about Spinel. This board will still call it underwhelming though, which is fair.
Christian Brooks
>when even the leaker call the movie mediocre Ouchie Glad i pretended SU ended after the Bismuth episode
Nicholas Mitchell
He didn't say that. If you're gonna lie at least let the original post get buried first
Jayden Diaz
From what I know, it's nowhere near mediocre and has really good sakuga. But it's also not driven by action and still has the outcome you expect from SU, so people will bash.
I wish they'd go that far with the resets. It's just going to be a reset to their personality when the show started. Pearl will just be an uptight insecure bitch who hates humans again.
>Lapis and Peridot will have no memory of the barn BASED SUCROSE
Lucas Long
the main thing I want is for the conflicts to end in an interesting way, like Message Received, not in a violent way. Super watermelon island for example could have been better if Steven had actually gotten to talk to malachite
Jackson Garcia
They fell for it too to be fair, although much less time passed before we realized the "clip show" thing is retarded and now CNScoop's clarified stuff everyone in this thread that jumped to conclusions seems like a moron, shitposting or not.
This sounds bad, but maybe Peridot and Lapis will be more enjoyable because they weren’t as annoying in the first few episodes they appeared in.
Christopher Jones
Anime doesn't own that trope. It revels in it though
Lincoln Williams
They're not effected and Lapis isn't an angsty bitch anymore. Read CNScoop's posts.
Ethan Mitchell
based i wish i didn't either
Matthew Scott
>Lapis isn't an angsty bitch anymore Better than nothing.
Jeremiah Watson
Dashcon 2019
Gabriel Turner
This was all confirmed in a leak a while back, along with the twist about Pink Diamond. Can someone post the screencap?
Austin Jones
I don't have it in me but I know what you're referring to. Bit of an unfair comparison since the leak said nothing about the time skip, a new fusion or even any kind of threat at all. Even rebooting the cg's is used to develop Spinel (as she has like six songs in the film and doesn't just disappear when she's done with them.
Basically she'll be trolling through song.
Samuel Nguyen
*on me
Brody Torres
I really like Stevonnie, where is Stevonnie?
Justin Parker
user your gonna get your dueling guitars stevenxgreg fusion and your gonna like it
Jackson Nguyen
is it true that there was going to be a romance that everyone on this board would hate?
Robert Hall
>Read CNScoop's posts where user?
Ryder Cruz
How do they manage to spoil this show so many damn times? Every single hiatus seemed to end with some chuckle-head posting leaks.
how is she singing that much while hating on steven's love of singing
Zachary Lopez
in this thread. but i dont know why anyone believes them
Charles Lee
I told you faggots that this was going to happen
But everyone got excited anyways
Charles Campbell
I think she's more-so hating on Steve-o thinking that you can just sing your problems away. Based on this story synopsis, it looks like he will be, though.
Aaron Rivera
for years there was a back door in the app that let people get info and even grab episodes before they where uploaded, this is more of just media sites not giving much of a shit. you haven't been here that long then too at least not see the scoops post from 17 predicting shit that happened years later.
I never said FB and tumblr wouldn't eat this shit up either you fucking autist. Holy shit it's like every fucker on this site lacks any level of reading comprehension.
Gavin Hill
BASED AS FUCK
Jordan Hall
>Her attacks give the Crystal Gems a kind of factory reboot
Suddenly that weird-ass song called boot_pearl(3).info or whatever actually makes a lot of sense. Kinda excited to see how it plays out
Tyler Bailey
The plot is "Spinel wants to kill Steven", the resets are just part of her attacks and the methods used to heal the CG's reveal more about Spinel. Honestly expected the worse reading the article but apparently it's just worded poorly according to cnscoop
Adrian Davis
Okay so the movie is... Rubberhose Diamondtits comes to Earth, zaps all the gems, and makes it so Steven has to sing/talk to them AGAIN to get them back to the status quo.
Got it.
Cameron Martinez
That is one portion of the movie, the main deal is stopping Spinel and the ending apparently hints at stuff to come (albeit vaguely)
>Pearl will just be an uptight insecure bitch who hates humans again.
> Pearl finds out her diamond is now a gem-human hybrid after being murder-cocked for the first time > On top of being a "new" factory spec pearl Fold those t-shirts, forehead gem.
>Lapis has no memories >Steven starts to sing her the song including in it more details on the things they've done together >She gets back her memories with a nostalgic smile and a bit watery eyes >"...Thank you Steven" >"No prob, bob" >"*snorts* hahahaha, it's Lapis" >"Yeah.....it its"
Jayden Richardson
I hope that it gets eaten alive on Rotten Tomatoes and IMDB
Josiah Kelly
cringe
James Reyes
You're naive if you think this is going to do poorly critically. Word of mouth alone is already positive nevermind what reviews as already available
Isaac Evans
SU fans are the kinds of people who would threaten Armond White at gunpoint
Jordan Harris
Critical reviews can be high while viewer scores can be much lower Were you not aware of this?
Blake Perry
who
Kevin Bailey
Yeah because viewers aren't required to be objective, hence the difference in ratings.
Jack Russell
the guy who went to the early showing and started giving vague psuedo spoilers on twitter a few days ago confirmed jasper is in the movie but hasn't elaborated on how big of a role she plays or what her current status is
S6 is Jasper territory so it's probably a a short cameo. Movie has enough going on as is without lumping her in on top
Adam Taylor
Wait, the other critics are required to be objective? Or else, what? Because if there were some kind of measure to that, which there isn't, we need to call someone, because pretty much every single movie ever has most of its reviews that do not fit that criteria. What's objective about > Fortunately, it’s a rehash accompanied by a soundtrack of terrific original songs (co-written by, among others, Chance the Rapper, Aimee Mann, and Ted Leo) performed by Steven and friends. Just to keep with the thread? That's all very subjective stuff right there.
Tyler Carter
probably i'm betting that she's been living on earth but away from everyone else and hope that the JASPER IS BACK FOR A FIGHT space on one of cn's spoiler bingos is referring to her helping in the fight against spinel, more because she has embraced earth as her home planet than because she likes the crystal gems
That square was biggs jasper, my dude. It got checked off in made of honor.
Levi Mitchell
It's amusing to think that had this magazine stuck to its counterculture ethos now, it wouldn't bother to deal with the series since it gravitates towards mainstream media aesthetics and attitudes (pastel colours and safe, cry-and-whine-a-lot storylines)...
Jordan Green
>what her current status is Hopefully single. unf
Jace Rivera
Considering the tone in America right now I'd say something bright, colorful and optimistic is the definition of counter culture
James Russell
wasn't A GEM GETS SHATTERED an unfulfilled space on the same bingo that a lot of people are theorizing refers to something in the movie? there was also a NEW INTRO space that will surely come to pass i think it's possible it could have meant the real jasper and was a spoiler for her part in the movie, just let me hope dude
I was wondering where Pearl, Garnet, and Amethyst were gonna go off to to have so many scenes of Steven with Peridot, Lapis, and Bismuth in the trailer. Apparently the original Crystal Gems get dispatched at some point and the B-team has to step in.
Tyler Moore
I don’t even get how it’s supposed to work on characters like Lapis and Garnet when the point is to retread development that happened in the show, and a lot of their development springboarded off development that happened to them prior to the show beginning. If they “reset to factory settings,” wouldn’t that mean we don’t even have Garnet? We’d have Ruby and Sapphire, pre-relationship mode. They supposedly spent thousands of years learning to be in a relationship and learning to be a permafusion, and that’s the character, with a set of her own issues, that Steven meets at the beginning of the show. Is Steven going to have to rush through all those first steps the gems took with Rose in their emotional growth too, and then get on to recreating the stuff he went through with them?
Liam Turner
Good. Maybe then we can move onto clean energy.
Colton Scott
It is his best weapon since most his abilities are defensive/healing. Worm into his opponents' mind and make them his friends.
Jasper is NOT in the movie except a brief shot of past foes, her arc is being saved for season 6 which she'll have a large presence in.
Isaiah Lewis
For the last time, there's not going to be a S6
Brayden Watson
Then why are the voice actors still attending the booth? to suck each others asses?
Gabriel Russell
your a bloody idiot too even make that claim when the board work for the movie was done last october. and there is no way in shit they've been paying an entire crew for nearly a year too produce nothing.
Only one muscle lady can be the B-Crystal Gems, so they got to use Bismuth instead of Jasper.
Wyatt Gonzalez
That was the finale, this is more like a bridge to S6. I can see the actual finale being Steven and Connie's wedding
Jaxson James
For a show praised for its LGBTQ+ themes, ending in a heterosexual wedding seems like a contradiction. Even Voltron LD had a gay wedding for the last episode.
Ian Turner
>this is more like a bridge to S6 Sure, and I bet that's getting released the same day as the new Nirvana album.
Noah Ward
So its not even leaked yet? Wtf do i come to this board for then?
Christopher Powell
What? How is that a contradiction at all.
Michael King
How do you know
Logan Long
so literally every major and minor character is in the movie except for jasper? where the fuck is she during the time it takes place? if she's going to have a large presence next season i don't see why they'd completely leave her out of what's meant to be a bridge between it and change your mind
Jason Reed
>All these anons who are suddenly pretending Steven Universe was good This plot sounds about right. Sugar's a hack.
Ryan Collins
>another fucking gem i don't know why but this infuriates me to no end. what, are humans just not good enough? they've already confirmed that there's a world outside of beach city and the technology required to make the breaking point doesn't even look very complicated, so why aren't humans ever a real threat?
Matthew Kelly
>thought the movie is gonna be boring and the conflict resolved in a shitty way since all the energy that would otherwise make up mediocre writing would go to the songs >didn't even think of how they could make it worse >It's a fuckin recap Sugar deserves to be beaten by her ape
Because the Earth of Steven Universe is a dystopia where no "evil" human can actually exist. It's a world without holidays, for fuck's sake. Something the Gems did while on Earth altered the course of history and rendered most semblances of individualism as we know it unheard of.
Matthew Gutierrez
now that i think about it, if the reset were actually back to when they first emerged, that would be the best thing you could do for lapis
Daniel Kelly
Because you're thinking with the logic of an action series, not a shitty drama. The breaking point was just a narrative device, not useful as an actual weapon. Amethyst cracked her gem by falling a few stories and landing on it. Even assuming that Diamonds are much tougher to shatter than Amethysts the breaking point has no range. A fucking handgun could probably shatter a diamond, but humans and basically everything seen outside of Beach City are considered irrelevant to the plot.
only superfans have seen it so far, so yeah "word of mouth" will be positive... they probably did this early screening for shills only to help counter Yea Forums and SUcrit
Jaxson Reed
i mean, Andy exists
Kevin Phillips
CNScoop literally said it's not a recap movie you brainlet, the resets lead into learning about Spinel and she's present for all of it. Read the thread
Michael Barnes
Considering Yea Forums's version of SU is some warped reality where apparently everyone hates it I'm not surprised the shill argument is being tossed about
Jace Carter
Denial isn't just a river in Egypt
Christopher Gray
You mean the guy who gave up a place he considered "his" for years because some squatters from another planet made a toilet sculpture in it?
Cameron Nelson
I can't reveal that, screencap this post and you'll see in 3 days when Jasper appears in that shot of past foes that I'm right. The movie focuses on the main trio only, Lapis, Peridot and Diamonds don't have a main role and just show up for songs.
Henry Reed
>Lapis, Peridot and Diamonds don't have a main role Fucking knew it. What about bismuth
Thomas Thomas
Learning shit about Spinel and being a recap through songs in order to make the gems remember doesn't sound exclusive from one another, both could happen. Did the tripfag actually see the movie?
Jacob Powell
You have to be low iq and mentally ill to like steven universe It's shit
Brandon Cruz
>Diamonds don't have a main role This puts you on thin ice. The movie lists the diamonds in two songs that happen at the beginning and end of the movie. Are you telling me that Spinel has no connection to them whatsoever? That their songs have no purpose to the plot besides having those actress sing? I can buy Lapis and peridot being worthless, but not this.
He knows people who attended the screening. The "recap" is just thematic, like Pearl's independence and so on. It's not like a clip is played or the same dialog or situations are repeated
Brody Wright
I´m pretty sure I saw that clip before. Wasn´t the entirety of that in the trailer?
Aiden Foster
nah there's more than what was shown in the trailer but the same scene was used.
Elijah Clark
But it is a very lame excuse to repeat shit we don´t need. We´re gonna waste two songs and parts of the second act on repeating shit we´ve already done with those characters.
Aiden Taylor
Well it's apparently done pretty well so I'm not worried.
Josiah Collins
>"Lapis and Peridot dont have a main role >Peridot is still getting shafted from being a main character Whats the point in redeeming these characters if we aren't going to do anything with them?
Spinel has connections to Pink Diamond but the Diamonds themselves only appear in the beginning and then at the end, they don't have a big presence in the movie. Lapis, Peridot and Bismuth are throughout the movie but don't have much character focus and are there for songs mainly as well, Bismuth's new form isn't even commented on
David Butler
I dont want some shitty message about the past though.
Jaxson Hughes
You can pretty clearly see Bismuth, Lais and Peridot with Steven doing shit in both trailers. They're support characters but in the actual sense of the word as they step in when the main 3 get fucked up
Lucas Mitchell
It sounds like they come out worse for it but because status quo "technically" it's "like the same", they aren't going through the progress and events as they happened and are only getting a neutered version of it to replace them.
Brayden Barnes
They need to be part of the main group, not some side support, thats the problem.
Aiden Robinson
I fucking hate this shit. They have a 1 hour and they STILL don´t want to do anything with any character who isn´t from the main 4.
>Fortunately, it’s a rehash accompanied by a soundtrack of terrific original songs (co-written by, among others, Chance the Rapper, Aimee Mann, and Ted Leo) performed by Steven and friends. That just makes it fucking worse god damn everyone is just so fucking won over with these shit ass songs. It makes me sick.
Wyatt Phillips
It's 90 minutes and Peridot's role is infinitely larger here than it's been in seasons. Stop believing everything you read on Yea Forums
Eli Sanchez
She deserves and award for "most fake woke person in Hollywood"
Joseph Adams
>Fortunately Why do reviewers make it seem like something new would inherently be bad?
John Baker
>Stop believing everything you read on Yea Forums Alright then. I don´t believe you.
Sebastian Martinez
>"Peridot's role is infinitely larger here than it's been in seasons." yea, cause shes done basically nothing for three seasons, no shit she has a larger role, shes acting like a side character instead of a non existent one.
Christian Cruz
Go on then, tell us what the connection is
Sebastian Wilson
SUfags are the worst, that fucking image jesus christ.
Easton Ramirez
Stop crying you fucking faggot. God Yea Forums is insufferable around new SU releases.
>It better turn into [THING THAT IS TONAL AND IDEALISTICALLY AT ODDS WITH THE SHOW] or it's SHIT >Episode comes out and actually does what it promises >UGH, I KNEW IT. WHAT? NO I DID GO IN ANGRY AND PREPARED TO NITPICK, IT'S "BAD WRITING"
You faggots never deserved this show and you're rightfully, laughably ignored by every other board because of this attitude problem.
See you on Monday when you prove me right xxx
Christian Powell
What the fuck are you even talking about just because I'm tired of people lapping up shit if it has these fucking songs in it? They are fucking awful but everyone parades them around as the best fucking songs even above shit like broadway. It's cancer. Rebecca can't write songs for shit and these added song writers are fucking unbelievably bad choices that only Rebecca would pick.
Julian Gonzalez
because SJWs and fags hate all that is heterosexual
Charles Edwards
And much like the main 4 she is not allowed to have any complex traits, any new character decision made to her, just like the main 4, is born from subtraction
James Bell
>literally a retconn of each character's development we vriskagram now boys.
i remember that thread and that post, cant believe it actually derailed it. what a bunch of fucking faggots.
Nolan Jones
As well Rebecca is a coward and said one of Rose's songs was actually about her, but even after the show is seemingly over she still wants to keep the meaning of the song unspecified for the rest of us cause she's too scared of actually admitting what happened to her that's fucked her up so bad
William Foster
just your average attention whore
Joseph Sanders
>fanfiction tier bitch rambling intensifies
Lincoln Johnson
I'm hesitant because I think that what happened to her wold have had to have been very specific for it to be adapted into a Rose song. But I also wouldn't put it past her in the slightest to make up a bunch of abuse stories or even try to get us to sympathize with stuff that was all in her head.
Ethan Phillips
The fact she put it into SU at all is a red flag.
Adam Cooper
Oh wow, it's almost like the theme of the movie is change and that hammering how all these characters have grown and evolved is an important and necessary part of that and vital to stopping the villian.
Not surprised Yea Forums took that as "clip show" though. They don't like cartoons, they like bullet points and wikipedia articles that they can read and then dismiss
Michael Reed
Place your bets, what happened to her that got adapted into that Rose song, that was most likely made up in her head.
Asher Collins
the fact that she used to be a zim fangirl is a giant red flag already.
Xavier Rogers
What song was it? It's probably just cut and dried abuse shit and she has a major hangup on emotional trauma and finds crying funny, she's fucked up already and was probably already that way.
Shit man can't forget that slave art she used to make of herself.
Asher Reyes
All I remember were the lyrics talking about " never ready" or something like that. And that mentality doesn't spawn from something as simple as mommy or daddy smacking you around a few too many times
Caleb Walker
So they're going to trace over classic cartoons for their villain and everyone is going to cry a lot. Got it.
Jonathan Collins
>Oh wow, it's almost like the theme of the movie is change and that hammering how all these characters have grown and evolved is an important and necessary part of that and vital to stopping the villian. This has to be the worst part of Yea Forums, missing the point entirely but making cheeky passive aggressive posts like yours.
Lincoln Cox
>"The theme of the movie is change" >"Lets show everyone that by undoing all our character development instead of just further developing them."
Kayden Martin
It's like even the crew have forgotten what these characters are supposed to be like
Jose Taylor
The theme of the Rocko movie was change too but they executed it in a really forced way. I'd say I drew the line at making Rocko a strawman but that happened at the end of the film anyway.
David Baker
>the revolutionary and powerfull narrative of using old cartoons as reference instead of anime sugar you did it again.
Benjamin Long
user, one of the worst songs in the show is sung by an experienced Broadway singer. Getting talented people to sing your songs doesn't make those songs good.
Luis Murphy
What if Sucrose decided to retire from the showrunner position?
Isaac Martin
>>Chance the fucking Rapper This immediately turned me off, fuck rap and fuck Chance. Not the dog from Homeward Bound. I am stuck in a Family Guy.
Whatever it was, it probably had to do with having a baby, Given it's a Rose song
Jaxson Evans
>realize True Kind of a Love is just another Ruby and Shappire song How many times must we do this with Garnet?
Hunter Fisher
>Gives all of gemkind a factory reset Actually pretty based >Steven just Talk no Jutsus them all back I wasn't going to see the movie anyway but now I really won't.
Gabriel Bailey
>scene shows a PG rated rap about how much Chance loves his wife
John Sanchez
Don't we have enough songs by guys fellating women they knew/are with?
Jaxson Green
They retained their memories the just sort of became nega-versions in S2E1. And even then that only happened because the antagonist specifically exploited the patron element of a main character to make them think even more people would be hurt if they didn't forfeit
David Martinez
holy christ what is with you retards and not being able to read.
Aaron Barnes
>Reading the article and not just the spoilered text No thanks
Jayden Sanders
I think that Estelle strongarms Rebecca so that Garnet is the only one with any vague semblance of complexity to her character. Garnet is the only character that represents a strong, complex relationship past being simply friends, the only one who's had any real "development"
Aaron Hill
>I think that Estelle strongarms Rebecca Why does everyone blame everyone but Rebecca for shit?
Ian Martin
It's not that I think she isn't responsible, it's that I think ALL members of the crew are at fault, Rebecca included.
Michael Walker
The fuck are you talking about, you sperg? That's what he's gonna do, he's gonna sing to them and make them remember, how else do you think he's gonna bring their memory back in a fucking MUSICAL. Or are you arguing that he should've said "Sing no Jutsu" instead of "Talk" as if that makes a difference?
Liam White
Basically everyone here hates the Crewniverse. This is no secret.
Brandon Rogers
Even though it's slightly disappointing it's pretty much what I expected, I just hope the Jasper arc in season 6 will be worth the wait. Thanks for the info
See Lapis, Peridot, and Bismuth just appearing for support and having smaller roles is exactly what happened in Change Your Mind so it's pretty much what I expected from them in the movie too
Luke Adams
Everyone involved with SU is garbage.
Kevin Powell
Then don’t watch the show, the movie, or anything related. You look foolish.
Benjamin Garcia
I'm here because I wanted to know what was accidentally revealed.
Nathan Lewis
why are you so mad about people not wanting to see the movie you fucking sperg?
Aaron Sullivan
What’s the point if you hate the show? Leave and don’t let the door hit you on the way out.
Basically you’re hypocrites on an SU thread Einstein.
Zachary Thompson
I dislike the show surprisingly less than I dislike the crew.
Nathan Gomez
Are you going to shoot up CN studios? You’d look good in the news.
Zachary Adams
Why did you jump to something like that? Why is my dislike of the crew an emotional point to you?
Zachary Parker
What does it say about you as a person when that's what your brain defaults to?
James Phillips
You just seem that on edge about people you don’t know. Get some help.
Julian Gray
You're being a major faggot at this point.
Thomas Morgan
Not liking someone personally doesn't automatically mean you want to physically engage or harm them. What's wrong with you where you save anger and violence towards people you don't like?
Hunter Kelly
lol, you're the one flipping his shit over people thinking this movie is gonna suck.
Kayden Butler
Stop thinking about homicide. Think of the dicks that’ll get in your ass.
No ones talking to y’all. Shut the fuck up.
Connor Hill
See? Right back to assuming I have even once thought about harming others. You seem even more emotionally driven in you responses than I was by just saying the people involved in the show are trash. You act like I insulted your fucking family.
But if the theme of the movie is change, why are they so scared of ACTUALLY showing change? Why do they have to retread how the characters were back in S1? That´s incredibly cheap and shows that they don´t commit to what they´re saying. You could have Pearl be dating someone (not necessarily Mystery Girl, literally anyone. Man or woman), Amethyst being a leader or coach to other gems (since they said she´s mature now), Garnet living on her own now that she´s a walking married couple, Lapis trying to help others instead of being selfish, etc. It´s been 2 years. The characters could have been doing so much in that span of time, and yet they´re EXACTLY the same as where we left them back in CYM. The "changes" talked about in this movie are not from it, but from what has happened in the show. It´s hypocritical and lazy.
Stop spreading slander asshole! These are real people your fucking with.
Just shut up, your irrelevant.
Luis Mitchell
Sorry im tired, wanna just not do this dumbass shit anymore?
Aiden Perry
Excuse me?
Wyatt Gonzalez
>No argument
Nathan Rivera
I am tired and don't feel like dragging this on anymore.
Robert Wood
We know they're real people, but they're not you're family, you're not one of them.
Gavin Nelson
Even if they were his (let's be real it's probably a woman) family that doesn't mean they get a pass on opinions.
Ayden Edwards
True. I don't know why he's so bent on protecting the crew from negative opinions of them. It's none of his business whether I say all of Rebecca's trauma is made up in her head or not
Zachary Parker
Your on a thread talking shit genius, it’s everyone’s business now. Don’t want it to be, shut up about it.
Brody Ward
I think you're confusing how deep "it's everyone's business" goes.
Isaac Hall
Well then why be so mad at that claim unless you think it isn't true? Other crew members are speaking about their problems so why is Rebecca taking a backseat and just pretending she doesn't have any?
Henry Thompson
>Don’t want it to be, shut up about it. This doesn't seem like a fitting response to me saying the crew is shit.
Daniel Price
We all aware of the porn she drew a decade ago. Let it go.
Austin Foster
>One chance at having a movie for your series >Ruin it by making it mostly a recap Why would they do this
Dominic Price
and it'll still be seen as the best CN movie because muh shading, anime tropes, and singing, cant forget the obligatory feelsbait
Andrew Jackson
Only a few days to go now. Can't wait to see Steg in action.
Aaron Baker
Oh I see Schizo user is here talking about trauma or whatever like he usually does on /sug/.
Grayson Mitchell
Probably just me but main vilain remind me of a sad clown.
Nolan Barnes
I'm not talking about porn. >Basing your belief of his diagnosis off the words of another avatarfag with no evidence >Believing that all of the crew are perfect and infallible Call me what you want but at least I'm not some cult follower who bows down to anyone posting a pic of Sapphire
Matthew Ward
>But Doctor, I AM Pagliaccite
William Morris
How can Steven beat Spinel if not with a song? Steven and Greg gonna be fused. Spinel can't resist the double Universe charm.
i though that fucker got swatted for trying to shoot up the premiere tho.
Samuel Murphy
I can't fucking wait to hear Steg's song. Spinel's a huge part of the movie too considering she's in like 6 of the 17 vocal tracks
Nolan Rivera
>I can't fucking wait to hear Steg's song i hate this board so much
Carter Richardson
Is steg actually the official name?
Josiah Wilson
Yes but I'm hoping it's an internal name that got used for the credits and not official because even by Steven standards it sucks. Like, Mr. Universes, Mr. Multiple Universes, something actually creative please.
Luis Mitchell
yes, it opens up with a duel guitar performance and we know whose voicing him.
Based sucrose ruining the hopes and dreams of spoiled manchildren. Maybe they can move onto something else far less annoying after this or just leave Yea Forums altogether.
Rolling Stones hasn't been counterculture since before I was born. Since before any still living US President was in office.
Alexander Ortiz
I said creative, not good. Don't be mean to me, user, I tried my best. I just don't like Steg at all.
Tyler Watson
>Don't be mean to me SU really brought a bunch of fucking children here.
Matthew Jones
It's a joke you tone-deaf incel. If you had friends or even a girlfriend you might've noticed, but due to your lack of regular human communication, you didn't. Now do me a favor and close this thread, let the adults discuss the greatest cartoon of the decade in peace.
Juan Carter
What a fucking faggot holy shit.
Sebastian Carter
I will be satisfied if they defeat her with a Beelzeboss style rock off
Isaac Harris
how far does this factory reset actually go? Does Pearl just become an obedient slave for example?
Noah Butler
Seething
John Hughes
>Only one person in the entire world doesn't like the crew Imagine unironically believing this
Lincoln Sanchez
I wouldn't be surprised, Rebecca has a lot of slaveshit in her and it'd just reinforce that shitty message that comes with it.
You can't use that after using the incel child no friends btfo thing all in one post.
Matthew Sullivan
That was a LARP. Honestly I think it's hilarious that there's this need to keep the crew painted as perfect, infallible, and flawless
Joseph Sullivan
The song for pearl is called something like BOOT/Pearl(3).intro so most likely
Christian Nguyen
He wasn't talking about you retard.
Isaac Powell
>that fucking name good lord just kill rebecca she has to be suffering at this point
Carson Wright
Doesn't matter, he's still retarded for thinking that the crew are anything more than flawed human beings
Jaxson Cook
that's kind of disturbing actually
Adam Perez
I am curious just how high this villain was on the gem totem pole for her to have an ability like that.
Joshua Wilson
Because Humans and Sneeple are too busy fucking each other, seeing the gems as mere jokes with no potential future.
Matthew Walker
Why is everyone in SU threads so fucking sensitive? Why is everything in the show seen like this? Are you all fucking 12?
Jason Roberts
Yea it's a pretty heavy reminder that the gems are ai's with hard light bodies. Pearls probably more so since they can be hard coded to take commands
yes totally user, you talk shit about becky you go too hecky.
Aaron Lopez
I'm quite tired of gems having a deux ex machinima attack on the CGs, none of them never get any chance to fight them and they just win instantly, I find that annoyingly underwhelming.
Cameron Reyes
This isn't confirmed cuz nda's, but apparently Spinel was shattered by the Diamonds and brought back through some weird stone
Kevin Hernandez
Ah so she may not have originally had that ability? Makes more sense.
Lincoln Phillips
So she's Gem Kars?
Andrew Nelson
Who needs Stevens Talk No Jutsu when you have Onion with a Bat?
And I obviously should never dare explore or think about her past or what she's implied she went through
Adrian Peterson
If I remember my Jojo right it's more like Dio Brando
Angel Wilson
I think that the crew themselves are the ones bringing up mental illness and claiming none of them suffered any abuse. They can't stand the thought of being proud of their flaws
Adam Brooks
You just did a 180 to bring it around to them being good.
Ryan Lopez
how are they good for viewing flaws as embarrassing or hurtful to their careers?
Jackson Reyes
Congratulations on being the first person this month I want to see kill themselves.
Jack Morales
If anything it presents them as dishonest and cowardly
Liam Smith
See
Camden Robinson
>Trauma isn't glossed over in SU, it just doesn't dwell on it for five minutes at a time due to the frigging things being 11 mins long. So it is glossed over then.
Adrian Mitchell
Safest bet in history.
Xavier Flores
test
Connor Sanchez
Oh shit its the fucking cliche anime movies always do of previous villains coming back again.
Leo Reed
What will CN do if the movie underpreforms in the ratings?
Isaac Green
I had a big post about how it'll do fine and CN focuses on more than just tv ratings but the site is being a fag so tl'dr SU is the only CN show that has premiers get 850k these days. It'll do fine
Kevin Hill
Honestly expecting a movie to focus on anyone but the main 4 primarily was a fools wish.
Evan Gray
Sugar has said Garnet was her favorite from the beginning
Chase Collins
Look what Utena did. SU sure stole enough from it.
Gabriel Ortiz
This is just laughable, this is awful
>i want everything to stay the same forever!! >does everything stay the same forever garnet!! >NO! >villain out of nowhere right away
Nathan Gray
This is just laughable, this is awful
>i want everything to stay the same forever!! >does everything stay the same forever garnet!! >NO! >villain out of nowhere right away
Yeah, that's something I've always wondered. The gems have been waging war on Earth for thousands of years. There's tons of gem battlefields and weird gem creatures but no idea where on Earth they are or what other civilizations are still out there.
Technology looks like it's the same as our Earth too which is kind of odd since you'd think we'd have tried adapting gem tech to our own by this point. I'd really love to know how different their Earth is from our own due to all the alien interference. Did it ever even explain what happened to Florida?
wasn't zuke out of the crew? if that's the case then why is she still managing those accounts? im legit confused
Kayden Miller
It's an allegory for love, not all love results in sex though
Isaac Powell
humans collectively learned over the millennia that fucking with gem stuff = death. Realistically they'd keep poking at it anyway to some extent, but that's the line the writers went with
Jaxon Brooks
What is the name of that song ?
Juan Carter
It isn't. Never was. Glad you've finally realised it.
