I'm incredibly biased against Cuphead, but when you lack ambition, then your only recourse is to polish what you do wind up making. Compare that to anything else in this thread and it looks like utter shit, not because it lacks quality, but because nothing worthwhile was attempted. it lacks character.
Elaborate and explain please, user, so I/we can learn about not to make 1st dimension characters
that’s a very long-winded way of saying “i dont like thing bc bad”
It was a long winded way of saying "this isn't complicated enough to be good"
there's the attempt at animating the opening and closing of the boxing glove without it becoming flat
the attempt where the eyes grow off-model to indicate staring
I think James Baxter is overrated, and it's not from a 'I don't like it because i hate it reeeeeeee' point of view. Compare with anything else posted in this thread and you can see that his gimmick is literally "how much bouncing, pointless movement can I fit in the shortest amount of time regardless of fps?" Good animation should look natural but you can almost ALWAYS tell he's doing the animation because everything he works on looks like he's drawing more movement than it needs just so it looks busy. Plus it really doesn't help when he's trying to fit a high fps animation in a series that doesn't share the same framerate, and it looks even more out of place.
this wasn't too bouncy
youtu.be
Any clip from the Thief and the Cobbler
Making it bouncy and energetic IS the point. That's like criticizing The Sunflowers for being filled with pointless sunflowers
>Animations that aren't elaborate attack sequences and deaths have to be short and simple for gameplay purposes.
>WHY ISN'T IT AS GOOD AS A LINEAR DISNEY FEATURE FILM ANIMATION
user's saying all his animation is like that, and he's got a point in that even this one lacks proper weight and pace to emphasize the bouncing.
I mean that's barely animated, but you're right.
wack
Is there an equivalent in animation to Artifact or penciller only comics? Seeing these loops is so much more interesting to the actual cartoons.
