1. Frank Miller
2. David Mazzuchelli [sp?]
3. Bruce Timm
I absolutely love Kelley Jones' deformed muscle lost in a cape look.
Came here to post this. It's a controversial take, but he's the only artist besides Norm Breyfogle who understood the theatricality of Batman and drew him shapeshifting from standard superhero to skulking gargoyle between panels.
For me I think
Aparo
Adams
I can't think of someone for a third! Miller probably I guess
special mentions to Capullo, Bruce Timm
My favorites
1. Greg Capullo
2. Jim Aparo
3. Kelley Jones
Hell yeah
Special mention to Cooke's Batman too, but then he drew everyone well
Meh
>All these New Look chads ITT
I always use that suit in the Arkham games during a new game + run.
In terms of how they draw Batman himself...
> Lee Bermejo
> Jason Fabok
In terms of how they draw Batman's world and comic...
> Bruce Timm
> Greg Capullo
Already said but I feel like Sale got this too
been reading some 90s Batman comics and I really like Michael Netzer's take on Batman
Not a top one but in terms of modern artists I love Burnham's take. He successfully brought back the Silver Age Daddy Bat look which not only thematically makes sense in the Bat Epic because he had been "aged" by all the shit he'd been through up until that point and now was the head of a family, but it also worked in giving us two visually distinct Batman (with Dick being inspired by Neal Adams' slimmer acrobatic look).
1. Mikel Janin
2. Tony Daniel
3. David Finch
ok this is based
No SGM or Jim Lee?
Jim Lee is a hack and is nowhere near the top 30 batman artists
>Jim Lee
He thinks he "owned" the character.
Breyfogle was too good for this world
This is as good a place as any to unveil this work in progress. I've been reading Breyfogle's Bat run with the intent to capture his Bat faces for a collage. Not even close to done or a good collage but it's what I have so far.
Jim Aparo and Marshall Rogers.
Did he borrow Spawn's cape?
Goes without saying but Adams is the one and only GOAT
Great post
based and I love this cover
I like how he made Batman seem very vulnerable at times rather than some stoic stone-faced badass 100% of the time.
Doing God's work user, keep it up.
"Big" Dick Sprang
