I think it was in ep 16 that the king mentions how well Raps handled the situation with Atilla, which happened much earlier in the season. It's chronologically correct of course, but it feels like the two episodes kind of should be closer.
I imagine the distance is there to make it feel like there had been more growth over time for the viewer, rather than backloading right before QFAD

The production order of the episodes doesn't usually follow the broadcasting order. I remember Queen for a Day's production is earlier than some prior episodes like Pascal's story or Way of Willow.

Vanished Village read like the author really wanted to go dark with the culty village, but had people telling her to rewrite this and that to keep the content squeaky clean, and it really hurts the final product. Not worth your time.
