Radiant is French so it belongs here.
Radiant is French so it belongs here
French stores sell it as a manga though. Honestly I think it's shitting on the author's effort to qualify it as a comic (or at least to pretend it shouldn't be discussed on Yea Forums)
Also volume 12 is out this week
Yes and there was an user that storytimed most or all of it a few months back.
I get what you're saying but it tries so hard to be a shonen manga that it being sold as such might be seen as a compliment. If the author really wanted it to be seen as something other than that then maybe they should've went for a style or method of storytelling that doesn't copy too much from manga.
i agree with this guy but still it should. nothing wrong with Yea Forums being diverse.
the problem is that this board is too america centric and americans are easily triggered by that despite making a thread about some american web manga being ok here.
No, that's my point, it's obviously trying to be seen as a manga. And I think it does an excellent job at it since it's all but impossible to figure out it's not from japan unless you read the author's name. It belongs more on Yea Forums than Yea Forums
I like it. But I'd like it more if it didn't shove it's 'funny' bits and wacky faces in every other panel.
>It belongs more on Yea Forums than Yea Forums
No because anime is animation made in Japan for Japan. Same with manga. Unless the people behind it are Japanese and making content for Japan then it's not manga/anime.
>it tries super hard to be manga so it should go on Yea Forums
That's not how it works.
I agree with most of what you said, but by your definition Watanabe shows would not be anime.
I don't care about definition, I care about convenience. I bought some volumes of Radiant and I store it in my manga shelf, stores put the books in their manga shelves, you can find most chapters on Mangadex. And more importantly in this discussion, if I want to talk about Radiant, I'm more likely to find people interested in it in the anime and manga board since Radiant's story and art is a lot closer to these than western comic. It might be a comic, but claiming it should stay on Yea Forums is just being an annoying little turd for the sake of it.
Also no one gives a shit if manwha are discussed on Yea Forums.
>Looks like a duck
>Sounds like a duck
>Smells like a duck
>Happy to be around ducks
>It's actually a deformed turtle
>Let's keep it with the other turtles and leave it at that
It's a western comic, it fucking goes on Yea Forums.
It doesn't fucking matter if it looks like the stuff that Japan makes, by that retarded logic a shitload of non-Yea Forums material should be allowed on Yea Forums because the author is a weeaboo.
>It might be a comic, but claiming it should stay on Yea Forums is just being an annoying little turd for the sake of it.
Jesus fucking Christ.
Yes, that's how it works.
Eh, I think you can still sort of tell. The way the characters behave and some of the jokes and plot beats feel more Western. It's a pretty good impression of shounen manga though.
>It's a western comic, it fucking goes on Yea Forums.
not really. you are being pushy. one can say its a japanese manga made by a westerner.
the definition is pretty vague. still i think whether its manga or not, its good that Yea Forums accepts this series as one of western comic styles tho.
Yeah, like I said. An annoying little turd. I guess that for your anal mindset it makes more sense to force the discussion of a work in the "correct" board rather than the board making sense for it
>Comic made from a western author
>DUUUR LOOK 2 NICE CANT BE ON CO HUURRR
Guess we better never have another Wakfu, Dofus, or Avatar thread again guys they look too much like anime.
Manga is Japanese comics, if Radiant was originally published in a Japanese magazine there would be no problem if it was on Yea Forums.
One quick google search tells you that it's not manga.
And you just don't want it to be on Yea Forums for some retarded reason. Should RWBY be allowed on Yea Forums because the author wanted to make an anime? Should a bunch of webcomics be allowed on Yea Forums because they are made by weeaboos?
Jesus Christ, it's literally the first rule of Yea Forums
>All images and resulting discussion should pertain to anime or manga.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with wanting to talk about French comics on Yea Forums, because that's what the board is literally for.
>Yea Forums retard genuinely can't tell the difference between a western show that is inspired by japanese animation or a french comic directly using the drawing style, story composition and even base support of a manga.
Radiant gets like four threads a month on both boards combined unless someone is storytiming so I don't see why you care that much
I really don't understand why Yea Forums goes full retard any time that Yea Forums is mentioned.
>And you just don't want it to be on Yea Forums for some retarded reason
Respecting the will of the author is a retarded reason ? Tell me, at which point did you decide that Yea Forums was more important than comic or/and manga ?
If I'm a japanese national, but not Japanese and I draw an illustrated book. Is it a comic or a manga?
>Respecting the will of the author is a retarded reason ?
You mean the guy that knows for a fact that his comic isn't manga?
>Tell me, at which point did you decide that Yea Forums was more important than comic or/and manga ?
When little shitheads like you can't understand the most basic rules of the fucking boards. Japanese goes on Yea Forums, western on Yea Forums.
why do you want to separate them that much. i dont understand your black and white thinking. i dont really care if Yea Forums and Yea Forums share this comic/manga
gurihiru are japanese. that doesnt mean their stuff is manga. their comics are clearly "western comics made by japanese artists"
If you get it published in a Japanese magazine it's manga, anything else is a doujinshi.
Because it's published in an American comic book, fucking Christ you people don't even know what fucking words mean.
I was told mods on Yea Forums deleted Radiant threads but I've made a couple threads and storytimed a few chapters and never saw it happen.
It's a comic by definition but it's been adapted by a japanese studio and it's clearly trying to be a manga. And obviously when I lurk Yea Forums I tend to be less interested in manga than in comics, and when I lurk Yea Forums I prefer to see things related to anime and manga. By this logic I don't think anyone can seriously claim Radiant should "belongs" to Yea Forums. Board rules are clear but I think we can pretend there's a grey area.
>You mean the guy that knows for a fact that his comic isn't manga?
Yeah and he worked hard to hide this
>Muh rule
You do realize that this genuinely makes you look like a little bitch, right ? How do you spin it in your head to pretend otherwise ? And please try to find a responsr better than "no u"
This is a stupid debate when it has both a Yea Forums source material and Yea Forums anime.
The anime is the only one that's allowed on Yea Forums, if there's a thread about it and people talk about the source material then there's nothing wrong with it. But saying that a comic published in a French magazine should be allowed on Yea Forums because it looks like Japanese stuff is retarded, Last Airbender is older than Radiant and it has never been allowed on Yea Forums.
>Yeah and he worked hard to hide this
How? His name is in the cover of every chapter and one quick look at the credits tell you that it's made in France.
>You do realize that this genuinely makes you look like a little bitch, right ? How do you spin it in your head to pretend otherwise ? And please try to find a responsr better than "no u"
I forgot that I was on Yea Forums and no one gives a shit about the rules. Yea Forums is one of the few boards where self-moderation is still a thing and where the rules still matter.
You still haven't given one good reason as to why it should go on Yea Forums other than "it looks Japanese", that excuse has never worked on Yea Forums.
I don't care what Radiant is, but you should post more sex females from it.
I concur because no matter if it's on Yea Forums or Yea Forums, that is what the thread tend to boils down to.
then radiant anime is produced by a japanese company. i dont even understand what you are expressing here.
Yea Forums already has had the toonami thread. this manga/comic is like that. its very ambiguous or exceptional. stuff like this should be treated as a special exception at this point. it can be both Yea Forums and Yea Forums. whats wrong with it?
>then radiant anime is produced by a japanese company. i dont even understand what you are expressing here.
The point that you missed my ESL friend, is that there's a bunch of idiots that don't actually know what words mean. It's a French comic so by literal definition it can't be manga.
>Yea Forums already has had the toonami thread. this manga/comic is like that. its very ambiguous or exceptional. stuff like this should be treated as a special exception at this point. it can be both Yea Forums and Yea Forums. whats wrong with it?
Even with your broken English you're making more sense than the other guy I was arguing with. It has an anime adaptation so that part goes on Yea Forums, if you want to talk about the source material in a thread about the show that's fine, you could even get away with a couple of threads just about the comic so people can read the source material. The other moron was the one saying that it should go on Yea Forums because it looks like Japanese stuff, he didn't even bring the adaptation to the table when that's his best argument for why it should only belong on Yea Forums.
