# From what I can tell, she is way above Estellas power level—so technically speaking, Estella is going to have a hell of a time holding her own. Actually it makes Estella vs Gasolina a great matchup.
# She’s lovely. Estella has limited magical ability, no disciplined combat training, strictly above average female strength, and not a lot of imagination, so Gasolina should have a very good chance of getting that suplex in.
# This was very kind of you to post, thank you!
# As something comparable to a satyr, Estella has fur. It’s unhealthy and scraggly, but it’s not as long as it seems there. She has long black hair and twisted, unkempt, overgrown antlers. That said, she is pockmarked by spines and little horns, sort of like a rose bush without the roses. She can sprout foot long bone like protrusions and spectral thorny tendrils from her body up to 15ft or so.
Asher Adams
I'm gonna start hosting my own site next paycheck. The art starts today, I might've missed it in a guide but generally what resolution do you want to use for a basic 3 panel? Infact if there is a resource for resolutions that work best for different things a link would be appreciated:)
Oliver Ross
just stick to 1000 pixels wide, give or take, and you're fine
Lincoln Rivera
holy shit a bunch of comics hosts are down at once
Xavier Fisher
No anchors, no prompts and what's worse, repost. Boy, I'm dangerous
This thread's anchor stolen from the /tg/ drawthread at , and it is at this point I realize the "steal anchors from other threads" gimmick runs on a very limited resource.
... I really like this one, the fountain pen at the top is a nice touch.
You can get surprisingly good money out of hosting websites, apparently, but I'm not sure about the specifics yet
Daniel Nguyen
that's actually a pretty good one. i'm sure there's a lot that can be said about that anyway. not by me personally. i'm more in the abstraction phase than the subtraction phase.
(Is this the proper way to use the anchor post? Do we use it every time we upload art or an update?)
>what's a concept you love but can't work into your story? Good question! I had a ton of scrapped concepts for Space Pack that I wanted to use, like a road trip element, but it wasn't meant to be. As for Oni x Fox, I think I was able to get in most of the concepts I wanted.
Definitely updates, potentially anything that's supposed to be really visible. Idea is that everything important has a spot at the top of the thread. The reason I didn't repost the catfight tournament last thread was there was no post there that was formatted like an announcement.
Noah Morales
I see, thanks! So if I choose to make a post with a drawing later, that doesn't necessarily have to be attached to the anchor, because it isn't as important as an update, right?
Jace Phillips
It's not about power levels, its about votes. Percy is above most entrants because she has Thule powers, but that's not going to save her. In character, she doesn't use her eye against lesser-powered opponents and the only one I can see her using it against is Cole because she has a mech--and a flying one at that.
Chase Long
Also, when's Estella going to appear in Dead by Daylight?
Dominic Brooks
suppose you can argue it's in my comic, if one were to read the entire thing, but it's not a concept i keep in mind. mostly focusing on other aspects. i find hauntology interesting. easy to digest video: youtu.be/gSvUqhZcbVg i enjoy thinking about people's relationships with the internet. communities. etc. but can't really dwell on that. just touch n look.
>this picture Um. It seems very specific and not drawn by someone here
Leo Lewis
Is that a problem? Last thread I posted Natsuki Crisis.
Ian Butler
I think it's a fine and illustrative example
Kayden Walker
Thank you user. That was the intention.
Xavier Gray
When the fuck is Carrion Girls going to update again
Nolan Smith
ive scripted out full fledged comic for my fight. it should be roughly five pages. I was hoping to build up the to the Turbulancer, but i cannot fathom anyway for Cole to stand a chance against Fishergirl without it. even then, it will be one hell of a fight but i think i figured out a really exploitable weakness. going full anime on this one.
Jordan Scott
Never. It's like Dark Souls, you have to carry on in their memory.
Hounds of Tindalos >time hunters from a higher dimension, they reside in "angled space" and can't break into our universe's curved space except at specific faults >any given 90 degree turn
j-jesus, putting us to shame with our single drawings..
Robert Mitchell
Its how i make up for sucking at drawing. VOLUME!
Robert Murphy
I wanna grab Ellie and put her inside a washing machine for a day.
I request more references from Dee guy, especially colored ones. I might color. Also what kind of stuff do you want, do I go mortal kombat here? Lewd? Anything?
Starts as hand-to-hand at a friendly martial arts tournament. Percy is excited and friendly because she's heard the Sky High Sentai are cool. They fight a little and Percy gets DQ'ed because the ref detected telekinetic activity (Cole bribed the ref). The tk scanner can be tested for tampering...after the tournament, which means Cole wins.
Sure, she might have to return the winnings when its declared a no-contest later, but Cole is about the thrill of the scam, not the profit.
Knowing that Cole cheated and hating being accused of cheating, Percy seethes while Cole poses for the cameras. Cole, seeing an opportunity to screw with Percy further, challenges her to take it outside to the stratosphere. After all, what better way to improve her rep than by beating Percy on two levels? Percy, hurt and hotheaded, accepts even though the thin atmosphere weakens her powers and Defeats Cole anyway because even though she can't scratch Turbulancer's armor with her weakened eye, she can press buttons inside the cockpit until she hits the eject button
I'm going to try a few panels and maybe a short text story to go along with it.
Leo Parker
Killing and extreme humiliation are against the rules unless you okay it first with your opponent. If Twin Genie is okay with it being to the death, then fine.
David Barnes
oh no, Azu wouldnt kill anyone, she is a sweetheart.
Which reminds me, can I get refs for that oni girl from last tournament? I still gotta draw my surrender thing. I don't recall her name exactly, I think it was Rau?
Jeezy creezy this took a long time to ink. All those little details in the first panel were such a pain. That being said I'm really liking how this one's turning out. Very active, lots of good motion.
>I request more references from Dee guy Well, I made this really fast a couple of days ago. I can try to fix it up later since I didn't draw hands and the snake hood is off.
> Also what kind of stuff do you want, do I go mortal kombat here? Lewd? Fight scene or lewd are both fine, but no death pls. Maybe Dee can cast a magic spell or something. I'm not picky. It just has to have clouds around it. If you want, you can even bring up how they're both twins. Dee is actually based on Veronica (black hair) here
here is my rendition of the fight >Starts with the two of them mid combat, hand to hand. >Cole is noticeably beaten to a pulp, and Percy isnt even breaking a sweat. >Percy explains that Cole is out of her depth, as she can sense every move she makes. >Cole produces a small communicator out of her sleeve, and a moment later, the A-10 swoops in with machine gun fire on Percy >Percy effortlessly blocks it with a force field. >She is offended at that display of underhandedness, even after going easy on Cole, and blasts her with a her eye. >Cole is like "Hows this for underhanded" as the Turbulancer crashes to the earth and she boards it. >Jamming the lance in the ground, launches Percy skyward with a massive updraft. >Turbulancer follows with a flurry of stabs with its lance. >Percy is able to block and dodge them easily. Though airborne, the sheer size of the Turbulancer makes it easy to detect. >The Turbulancer then gathers some distance, and charges at Percy full speed. >even at max speed Percy is able to dodge effortlessly >She then turns to see Cole with the cockpit open >Cole counts down on her fingers "3, 2, 1" and plugs her ears. >A sudden sonic boom blasts Percy stunning her and blurring her vision. >Cole then follows up with several flybys causing multiple sonic booms to bombard Percy, the sound and sensory overload being absolute torture. >Percy is sent reeling skyward. Where she meets Cole standing on the tip of the Lance face to face >Cole grabs her and they both careen into the earth. >Cole piledrives her from 40,000 feet. >Percy's eye manages to save them both, but Percy is out cold. >Staggering from the crater, Cole is disappointed to find that Percy doesnt carry cash.
Put this part on its own line, you can get the entire link by triple clicking it

>reading webcomic >author announces hiatus >months without updates
should I just unfollow it?
William Sanders
it depends. For some comics, I've gone years, and i've been there for that sweet feeling when they come back For others, a few weeks and I put it away. Usually that's if the comic only just started, and is on a crappy website that has now gone down. if they ANNOUNCE the hiatus, that helps me wait.
I don't understand how he just said 6" but then he goes 'After all I'm 5" ' which is it? I get that the joke is his fucked up ruler is broken going by where the thumb is, I assume it's 5"
Brody Rogers
oh I see, it was a typo. or maybe wishful thinking trust me dude there are drawbacks to tremendous size
Zachary Campbell
>teacher tells everyone to do an icebreaker activity >have to draw a dog licking a macbook >literally never drawn a dog before or know how to visualize this >can't look up any references and only have thirty seconds >teacher pulls my example and tells everyone how bad it is. >"This drawing is too artistic and needs to be simpler. It's not clear what this is. It's a good drawing, but it doesn't have to be so complicated *everyone laughs* " Well fuck me.
I've heard a lot of stupid stories about art school. I feel like since you're PAYING that person, you could criticize the teacher just the same.. 'it's not clear what this lesson is, it's not helping me learn to draw, it's just making me feel like I made a mistake coming here' bitch
Isaiah Ross
I hope it happened in college, because if don't I report you as a minor not really, fuck jannies
Adam Robinson
It was a computer science class for Human-Computer Interaction, not even art school.
Zachary Murphy
See, the trick is you're supposed to have just been whittling a corgi a month before and thus can pretend like you just know how to draw a dog
Why a macbook?
Jordan Gonzalez
Sounds cool! I'm looking forward to seeing it!
Levi Hill
you've just been diagnosed with SUPERAIDS and only have a year to live. how do you finish your webcomic before it becomes an eternal cliffhanger?
Angel Mitchell
it was a random activity to showcase how easily miscommunication can mess up designs, even with simple phrases. Why a macbook? I guess because the person was using one and couldn't think of anything else.
>icebreakers telephone-pictionary >Phrases need to be drawn, and other players try to draw them. As the books continue to be passed along the line, the message starts to get lost!
Matthew Cruz
I don't even know where to begin with how little sense that makes
Jayden Sanchez
Oh well when you put it that way it makes sense on the other hand literally everyone understands the concept behind telephone game and you don't criticize the fucking art
Well no the worst case scenario is nothing happens. But yeah you don’t lose anything by keeping the follow.
Thomas James
I remember a time an art teacher tricked me into making a fewl of myself I was famously the good artist in the class, and she drew a head and asked someone to put the eyes where they go but I misinterpreted it as a face, with the top of it being the hairline, so I put them too high/large
Isaac Ramirez
Hot!
Ethan Bennett
I get what you mean. I tend to do something like says, I unfollowed a couple who only had one chapter out and no updates since months. When there is more I tend to wait, nothing is lost except having to look through a lot of abandoned titles and feel slightly sad.
Perfect! snack-time
Brayden Phillips
she shouldn't eat scarecrows, probably hard to digest.
Christian Martinez
just dont tempt her
wait, would that count as being vegan?
Hudson Roberts
Hi guys, how do you like this. First time poster on Yea Forums ever, long time drawfag on /tg/ Still cooking it, here's a shitty cover I sketched
His superpower is trashtalking people into dissolving (acid like) or exploding. Main antangonists are: The Pierced, willingly deaf monks, going after his vocal chords Collateral, an accidentaly deaf and intelligent pitbull in revenge of his killed master Lady Lords, supernaturally ignorant women that cannot be reasoned with
Some allies: Engineer, an aborted fetus that can only cry but creates sick demon gadgets (like BoI) Mom, a mother with high regenerative factor, secondary character only for comically lewd reasons Liberty, a 16yo immortal girl that he uses as a blunt weapon mostly
Probably, I dunno. Anyway, glad you like it, sorry about the wait.
Aiden Brooks
>When the mind control backfires I love watching the tables turn on someone as dommy as the scarecrow.
Julian Thomas
Yeah that's what I'm curious about. I know people DO unfollow stuff that stops updating but there's no practical point to it. Presumably they're not visiting wherever the site's bookmarks are kept often enough that the clutter bothers them.
Isaac Allen
Silly scarecrow, you can't drain Rau's soul.
Oni don't have souls.
Zachary Wright
>His superpower is trashtalking people into dissolving (acid like) or exploding. Vicious Mockery is a bard power, bards don't get that buff
Dominic Johnson
Have you thought about entering another catfight tournament? Your style is perfect for it.
Xavier Wright
now thats just racist
Asher Clark
3edgy5me
Cooper Taylor
It's not played to be edgy. I intend to make it more a criticism on current use of language. Eventually the Offender would marry a black girl For example, I don't plan to make Trump jokes, as I don't really care.
The moving idea of the comic world would be "free speech should have consequences, but should still be free for all (violence is free tho)"
and how you like it?
Luke Reed
Might consider if there's another one, sure.
Matthew Mitchell
... why in particular is that style "perfect for it" is there some sort gimmick that other (better) artists aren't doing?
Camden Thompson
dilate
James Rogers
He's good at illustrating dominance and submission, especially in subtle ways.
New page done First part of Turbulancer transformation. The next page will have Tad's Manipod join in, the A-10 wings form the lance, the visor opens and the eyes and crest light up. Weird observation, Turbulancer has noticeably become slimmer and more feminine compared to my first sticky note drawings and my Chapter 2 title page. I rather like it, its kinda sexy. My robots tend to be either blocky bois or gangly stick bois, so something with a bit of a different body type is fun.
it's appropriate for aircraft anyway they're complicated with transforming things, too often if they have to turn into much, the excess bulk sits under the plane looking like shit. combiners that don't have to turn into individual robots/animals/fastfood can escape that fate, and make a svelte total robot in the process
Jaxon Hughes
I use my vast transformer collection for inspiration. I know that all too well. Since none of my mechas feature individuals robots, I find myself trying to ignore kibble. I usually just use the complete combiner for the basic robot look, then go find actual pictures of the individual parts to construct something more cohesive. Turbulancer is obviously Superion at its core. I just changed up the planes with my favorites, and moved their parts around in what i would consider a pleasing way.
Sebastian Gomez
>keep having new ideas for projects >know that no matter how much work I put into them it'll just be because of fake excitement to distract me from working on the one I'm actually anywhere near finishing because I'm both too lazy and too scared of failure to put in the effort to finish my main project in a timely manner
how do I stop being autistic /hyw/
Hudson Gutierrez
Embrace your autism and use it as fuel.
Angel Lee
just like, stop bro
Christopher Cruz
write them down for later. that's what I do.
Ryan Ward
doing that would mean I never finish anything
Justin Sanchez
im writting 6 comics simul, its normal
Logan Ortiz
>and how you like it? I don't, politics are cancer. Liberty club is a genuinely great idea though
... Can't think of a tangent. It would probably be best crass and bombastic, give Tank Girl a read through. you can find someone storytiming part of it here boards.fireden.net/co/thread/84760109/#84760109
Plot it out in stick figures then pay someone else to do it later.
Jordan Anderson
im not going to pay anyone
Austin Ross
Are there any special tricks to get out of my comfort zone?
Josiah Richardson
I keep becoming stagnant with my series. I will suddenly be hit with inspiration and draw 5 pages. Write 4 chapters then I hit a wall and dont touch it for weeks only for cycle to start over again.
Repeat to yourself that no one will see it and you wont post it. If you hate it throw it away. No one will ever ever know.
Luke Smith
stop faping goy
Adrian Ortiz
Looks great, nice and clean
Jaxson Ross
Just keep doing this and build up a back-log so that you have enough pages to keep regular updates going while you wait for inspiration to strike again.
Daniel Lopez
well it's cute so that's great
Jace Evans
But I don’t even know what “out of my comfort zone” means in art. I already draw everything I want
Leo Harris
and back to square one you go
Benjamin Green
Crash and bombastic? That's the name of that comic style? Because it's exactly the tone I was aiming for. My base was Cazador de aventuras, which has a very similar tone and artstyle (a bit more polished) of that Tank Girl one.
Oliver Sanchez
>Because it's exactly the tone I was aiming for ayy! but no I just talk really florally. I think it would be either punk art or grunge art. Or just 90s. Virgin & Limpdick, this guy , would probably know more
Nolan Howard
bamp
Anthony Wright
>I already draw everything I want That's your 'comfort zone'. You only draw the things you're already comfortable drawing. Draw something you DON'T want to draw, something you've avoided drawing because it's too complicated or you don't understand it.

Ayden Howard
When did you start, old man?Oof, hows it come alomg?
Dominic Gray
Are you fine with Azu being turned into an animal in the fight ?
Christopher Collins
>It's not played to be edgy. well, you've got "I hate jews" and "niggers" right there on the cover.
>I intend to make it more a criticism on current use of language. Eventually the Offender would marry a black girl lol, is this the webcomic equivalent of "I have a friend who's black!" ?
You seem to have thought about your comic and the social commentary you want to do, I'd just say be careful, if your comic sucks all your heady explanations of your intent will come off as pretentious excuses to say "nigger" and "faggot"
Connor Cruz
One panel is legal.
Gavin Johnson
Not Ardi, but which animal?
Kayden Turner
Ah... I didn't realize we were making actual comics. I wasn't following along very closely. link me to the rulz?
No no. You're good. The requirement is only for a sketch. Some entrants like Smacky are making comics, but that's not required.
No. Casting baleful polymorph is a legit way to win.
James Cooper
Can you sketch the other entrants in your style? Or atleast the rest of team good girls?
Jack Morales
Eh, I am not allowed to regret it. I dont think im gonna "make it" either so this is for fun and craft. I wanna git gud. Having a hobby is extremely important if you are like me.
Sure! Sounds oddly cute. I wonder what animal too.
I think single panels are good to go.
Noah Howard
Doing this with strict hobby purposes is something I can really appreciate since every other artist has a dream of making it, myself included it. Good for you man.
Alexander Scott
Thank God classic has 3 hour queue time, enough time to draw or write.
>filename It's actually just Nitt I didn't even notice there was a similarity to knit before I saw people on the thread pointing it out. Originally it was a reference to "neat" since in her first characterization she was gonna be a rad 90's scarecrow girl, along with a partner called Alson.
Wish it was a submission hold, but this is pretty cool. Helga's a martial artist?
Ryder Ramirez
I'm wondering if any of you folks work with others on yoru webcomics, and how you met them/synced up work ethics.
I've been working on a project that started as a webcomic. i've reached the limit of what I can accomplish by myself, but I haven't been able to find any reliable help for the other parts, even with pay or commission.
If you haven't started it then now would be a good time to hop into the series. I'll be taking a month to build up content with my team for October (or November). Main artist already working on Issue 3's pages and a new Tales story is coming soon too.
I'm not gonna have it be a 4 month wait like how it was for Issue 1 to 2. We're going to try and update it more frequently but honestly not huge promises on that.
he's looking for a title fight not this tournament crap
Camden Hughes
Like in wrestling. Loser cuts her hair. Loser kisses the winner's foot. Loser strips. Etc, etc.
Lucas Davis
well, technically Rococo is the champion, I dont think thats gonna change anytime soon though
James Allen
Winner of this tournament fights Rococo for the title?
Jack Gray
Losers get NO dessert here.
Lincoln Gonzalez
>Helga wins
Mason Kelly
Smacky said he'd be down for Cole kissing feet if she lost.
Luke Sullivan
Magi gets to hold a double championship then. Like Conor McGregor.
Blake Bailey
no comic update this week, but added character descriptions for the side characters tapas.io/episode/1503284
David Lewis
>Implying Percy isn't going to clean house by virtue of being a Nyamo girl.
Kayden Jones
Stripping or spanking would be hot but definitely not for Yea Forums. And I doubt the authors would be interested. This is more for fun and drawing fights than anything.
Chase Thomas
They wouldn't have to go so far it becomes unacceptable on a blue board. A pic of the loser with their hands over their unmentionables, for instance.
Isaiah Johnson
No (you)
Juan Bailey
Really?
I hope so. Seeing mean bitches humiliated is my fetish.
Sebastian Richardson
it's not going to happen sweety i have an iron will and you just have basic bitch syndrome
Adrian Taylor
Ahhh it's beautiful!!! I knew I'd love having you as an opponent.
Aiden Howard
I don't know about seriously but I don't know anyone who hasn't been drawing since they were babies
John Gonzalez
several people in here are writer-artist teams. it's not unusual You're nearly there. Basically two things: 1. have the human torso extend slightly more, you should be able to see the tops of the hips/very bottom of the abs. This makes for a more appealing proportion 2. study your horsenatomy. it's tricky but you can learn it. you learned catnatomy. design.tutsplus.com/articles/how-to-draw-animals-horses-their-anatomy-and-poses--vector-18887
Tyler Bailey
Yeah. I mean being able to live from something I love would be amazing, I wouldnt say no. Im just too cynical and not confident enough to buy that it could happen. Im still gonna try to become good at this and keep posting. Maybe some day Ill get paid commissions in the future, that would be real nice.
Yes but ONLY if the good girls lose. The "evil" ones get this
Honest question: What would YOU think, that a black person or a gay would need, inside their brains, to NOT be offended by a white person calling them "nigger" as opposed to a black person, or a cis person calling them "faggot" as opposed to another gay man.
I would like a your 100% honest answer, as that's a strong point on the comic.
109645322 There's so much wrong with this post, I feel sorry for anyone who reads it, and worse for anyone who replies. You're not even getting the one sarcastic chevron
Liam Rogers
I mean, Richard Williams didn't start animating seriously until he was in college You're getting there, man
no user your dog still expects to be fed regardless
Mason Jackson
Oooh
Michael Morales
which is better, publish one page per day (more often) or two?
Adrian Brooks
Sounds like fun. Although I have been procrastinated a lot recently. So I don't know h ow long that's gonna take. I will need to find references for all of the characters.
>aknowledge that my skills will never be good enough for a comic >still cant stop thinking and developing the story for 12h a day with my dull factory drone job >tried many times to just let the stupid idea go but i keep going back at it withot noticing and develop it
Personally, I feel that having a webpage is one good way to take serious, and be taken seriously, for your own work. I have quite a few people irl asking me for a place to see my stuff, not only the comic, and i find myself reluctant to send them link to sites drowned by RELATABLE and korean fuckbois comics. Besides, since my stuff is obviously not meant for print, I think that a webpage would be like a book printing goal for more traditional creators. And last but not least, its a good way to learn how to market myself and that can never hurt.
Quite a few solid reasons here too Gracias, my goal is to have one before chapter 12 but not earlier than chapter 6. So, in under one year.
I'll draw her even dirtier next update so you can keep seething aplenty, Ardi.
I limited my scope, Kurapika style, with a set of rules to acquire more experience and master simple and short stories.
i dont want to bother people with a bad story to ruin their portfolio, also the artist is the pivotal part of a comic and i would like it to be part of my own project and not a side person. I really just want to drop this whole damn thing but i trained my brain to just think of stories while i work
Jackson Rogers
I have to agree with this guy there, your stuff would look fantastic printed. It might be the most for print webcomic I ever read. The only stuff that wouldnt translate well are scenes like the long hallway one which count on the reader scrolling, thats true.
Nice, looks really good.
Carter Martin
Setting aside that even in comics with no dialogue the purpose of the art is to convey a story... >I dont want to bother people with a bad story to ruin their portfolio You know what, I've never thought of it that way. Show me an example of that happening
I think my art looks kind of pixellated after I export it, but only on my main monitor. Every other screen that I look at it on, it looks normal. I don't know why its like that. Do you guys see it?
on top of everything else that's great about your art, you're putting cool monsters in now??? and dungeon jokes? fuck, you're ... you're better than bad, you're good. >Lobster being fond of sun for vitamins you don't know the half of it, fucking rats can make vitamin C out of sunlight.
ideally how often would you update with two pages at a time, every other day? i think it depends a lot on your comic and your audience, and i don't really know anything about either. if it's some low effort slice of life or stick figure crap you bust out in an hour tops, you can probably run it consistently on a daily basis. if not, maybe think about tri-weekly updates of two pages instead, if you want to and think you can keep that pace. you should build up a significant bscklog before all this, but if you're working concurrently, >you'll still put out roughly as much content in the same time frame, a page less per week, that's about a 14% reduction in workload compared to two pages every two days or a page a day >that buys you a free day every week that you can use for catching up, getting ahead, development, practice, important irl stuff or just a day of not thinking about your comic >two pages every two days allows you to sacrifice time on one page for time on another should you ever need, but that's true of everything but daily updates plus >you and your readers will have a better idea of when you update if it's certain days of the week and have a reduced cognitive load associated with following your comic. instead of having to think back about whether you updated yesterday or the day before, you and they probably already know what day of the week it is, and if they're following your comic closely whether that's an update day or not. >your art and story will probably maintain better continuity and consistency and so give the feeling of being 'smoother' if you're working across two pages at a time as opposed to one i really can't think of many good arguments that favor daily updates, i guess increased engagement but that won't really matter until you're established? maybe other anons can chime in on that. and i'll add that any reader who can't wait a day between updates probably isn't much of a fan of your work anyway.
Nicholas Richardson
If you're making a comic with a story, I'd say keep it down to 3 pages a week. I figure individual pages get scrutinized more heavily if they're coming out by themselves, so you will want to make sure you have enough time to make something the best you can, and redraw sections if you don't like how they turn out.
I like releasing batches of pages every week and a half though, so I really dont know what im talking about
So you want the feel of going in the cave, or the feel of obeying the sign and not going? I don't follow
Robert Jackson
A mixture of having overall better artists + better quality pics + we tend to associate antagonist characters with intimidating qualities so all the evil girls have slightly off vibes and features while the Good ones look really human.
Except Cole. Im guessing she is low bullied by her own teammates for not being evil enough.
>but can't work into your story My self-restraint.
Owen Ortiz
I'm not seeing any difference between what you drew and what he drew in terms of being better or worse, it's just two very slightly different ways of drawing the same thing.
portrait. because mouse wheels still scroll vertically. each panel within the page, though? landscape. we still read from side to side.
Grayson Young
WIP on the second half of the Turbulancer transformation. Tell me if it makes sense or not. I am never certain on these transformation sequences. Also that final pose was hellish to get right, and im not even sure it looks right.
Oh my god i love her! She looks so smug! thanks man!
I mean the lance is straight up magic of course, but robot weapons do tend to be pretty crazy like that. Otherwise I'm not seeing anything wrong
Jose Hill
Yeah its made out of the A-10's wings. I originally had them as kibble on the robot and they were a bitch to pose with. This was an inventive way to get them out of the way without them just vanishing.
Juan Russell
It can be. If that is what the people want, I am happy to oblige.
Luke Smith
Do one of the good girls!
Justin Perez
Her smug aura mocks me
Jose Roberts
"people" implies more than just that one guy hey I have my fetishes too, but I'm not allowed to push them on the thread, or include them in my work at all.
Matthew Bell
i had an inkling it might be just one guy. im always up for trying a new fetish, but never really got into feet. if i do it, it will be less sexy and more funny.
Carter Murphy
Erin's been very worried recently, a mysterious glow keeps appearing on his chest and reality starts to distort around him.
I like em plenty, but I hate when that kind of thing is involved in fetishy domination stuff. Better to keep it subtle, like a servant simply not being issued shoes. Are you gonna explain that robot's sex at some point or just keep messing with us?
Bentley Evans
>The style is like that! what?
James Ramirez
Technically the soul inside these robots is genderless, but Erin is usually refered to as a very effeminate boy.
I don't remember this being indicated in the comic I don't see what that has to do with this at all.
Jack Brooks
Hey, I kind of want it to if it's alright with Smacky.
>Fetishy domination stuff But that's the best part!
Samuel Howard
Would Otto be down with for it though? It's not much of a stake if it only potentially applies to one opponent.
Brandon Phillips
Good for you, man
Adrian Green
I might just leave the punishment up to him. I'm pretty open with how my character is used, but I dont want to disrespect him or his characters. It would be more fitting that way. Im sure he could come up with something really fitting.
James Perry
you can do it, work on your comic a bit everyday and you will reach your goals! question of the day what new thing would you say your comic brings to the genre?
Michael Russell
Lots of obligations today so I couldnt sketch. I think my idea of 3 pages this week was too confident.
This is hella cute. Will you really do all of them?
Oh I think I posted it, I got most of it back! And my laptop is repaired. I was lucky
Xavier Gomez
Gasolina alone eclipses most everyone else-pure raw sexual energy. Truth is, the game was rigged from the start.
Hunter Rogers
Told you
Grayson Thomas
I love this, do you have a link for more??
Carson Garcia
Adorable
Connor Moore
the style looks neat! love it too.
Ian Garcia
I don't have anything else like this to be honest. I was just drawing what I saw on a rorschach inkblob thanks bub
Dylan Lopez
What was wrong with it?
Christopher Jackson
I attempted to translate Percy into my style. I had to take a few creative liberties since the model pics i had were all very different, so if there is anything you take exception to, Otto, feel free to tell me. This my first time working with someone else's character and i'd like to do her justice.
Her hair style was pretty inconsistent, so I gave her wavy hair since she is a fish girl. I thought that would be cute, I also envisioned her force fields with an eye motif since they are called 'eyes'. I also did webbed feet, since one of the pics featured them. Again i wasnt sure. Webbed feet were also easier to draw.
it's not so bad. the human condition is weird and fascinating. which is how i view it... would look into things for creative application, not subscribing to ideas. though i am mostly desensitized, maybe a little grandpa. however contemplating on the system, especially if you're feeling stuck or frustrated, could make you depressed...
Elijah Adams
>fishsticc my fucking sides. don't forget about how calves work.
Curiously enough Azu would have no craving for her, because she is a djinn and the curse only leads you to eat humans.
Hudson Miller
Saved ! I love it
Isaac Reyes
Also i watched the video just now thanks user, from a guy who works at an industrial press thats about the size of his head.
Jaxson Smith
Anyone know of any webcomics about cryptids, or have any good ideas for the direction (story wise) for a cryptid comic? I really wanna do something with this guy, and a couple of other cryptids, but I don't know how to make something with them. I did have ideas for a Fabletown inspired kinda thing, but I don't know.
So I want to make these capeshit comics with characters that are very clearly knock off of other characters but I'm worry at what point does the knock off gets me in trouble. Like what do I need to change from Captain America so my knock off doesn't get me in troubles?
i do a lot of knock off parodies. so long as its different enough that a reasonable person wouldnt confuse them, then you are safe. for example, deadpool is an obvious parody and expy of Deathstroke. anyone can make the connection, but no one would confuse them. so if you did something like Brigadier Freedom and made him look different enough, you are safe. go watch venture bros. that show is literally made entirely out of expys.
Andrew Adams
lol why is The Dewd the only one who gets cyberbullied here?
Charles Edwards
because everyone else who was ran off dewds doesnt have the brain capacity for much, including feeling insulted
Jason Cruz
Dancing lesbians, vagina, same shit
Eli Ward
I'm doing a thing that has cryptids, not just cryptids, but there will be cryptids along with other weird things I guess first you gotta think what kind of stuff you wanna do, is it serious or silly? how much sense does it have to make to have all those cryptids in one place? etc pretty cool mothman design, by the way!
Jackson Edwards
personally I kind of hate it when a comic has its writing themed around the trappings of the study of a thing, just because it has a thing. like I don't want to watch a show about aliens and everything feels like it was extrapolated from Roswellfags. That's boring, cliche, and kind of a weird coincidence. That's why District 9, for all its flaws, was so neat. It felt more like aliens showing up in real life. Though I'm not a big fan of real life either, particularly not real life south africa, but it was a hell of a lot more interesting to me than X-files. the point is the basic structure and setting doesn't have to be themed to the content. A comic about mermaids doesn't have to be a girly fairytale romance, a comic about robots doesn't have to be cyberpunk, etc. Don't pigeonhole your subjectmatter and it'll be great.
Isaac Green
Captain America had like 9 abject ripoffs back in the day, it's amazing what they got away with.
Gabriel Bennett
i love that mothman. he almost looks like a tokusatsu hero.
Owen Williams
makes me miss Bug Comic
Parker Thomas
turning tropes is a bigger trope than any of those
Jose Ross
Imagine drawing for five years, not improving any and constantly ignoring everyone’s advice
Jordan Richardson
I’ve literally only seen mermaids only in fairy tales
Jacob Gomez
if you're saying what I think you're saying, you're wrong. Both about what you're claiming, and what you think I'm claiming exactly. Isn't that getting boring? There's no reason the subject matter has to be locked into that genre.
Lincoln Foster
>Imagine I would have to
Eli Powell
>if you're saying what I think you're saying, you're wrong. then you misunderstood i'm never wrong
Luis Bell
Seems like you're actively seeking out bottom-rung stuff if you genuinely think most stories or subject matter rigidly follow that line of thinking/writing.
Isaiah Cooper
I didn't say most, but you're in denial if you think it's not most.
Owen Mitchell
Point me to examples of your Roswell aliens claim, because outside of like, 1960s B-tier Sci-Fi movies and 1990s little green men in flying saucers beaming cows up to prod and probe no one has earnestly done that shit in decades outside of actual parody.
If anything, your example of District 9 is a prime example because D9 isn't about Aliens, its a commentary on racism and immigration shit, and taking a racism story and putting "not people" in it and substituting them with Aliens/Monsters/animals to over emphasize how different they are, but really they're the same as us even though they look so different is about one of the tiredest, most worn out tropes in the book.
Luis Sullivan
I think you're misunderstanding me here, and I'm not surprised because it's a really esoteric thing I'm describing It's not about the role of the aliens for example, it's about things from alien "fandom" (for lack of a better term) being shoehorned into the story purely because that's what comes to mind for those writers. Just because you have aliens in a story doesn't mean you need to be shooting it like an episode of Unsolved Mysteries, including human characters that fall into the vein of Mulder or Dale Gribble, focusing on people's tall tales and abduction stories, or dealing with disbelief... It doesn't need that tone, and it annoys me when people think it does. I'm not saying plant aliens in another cliche story, I'm saying write a story, then put whatever you want into it because you think those things are cool. I get worried when I even hear 'cryptid' because that brings to mind all these trappings that aren't necessary or desirable to me. Just call them monsters. Just include cool monsters in your story, whether it's fantasy, scifi, boring real life, or ideally some new thing nobody's ever seen.
Asher Watson
>independence day wasn't one of the biggest blockbusters of the 90's
That's a bit different. They played ON those tired tropes, reinvented them with a slick 90s feel, and combined oldtimey tinfoilers with modern hackers
Blake Lewis
oh and I'm the guy that guy you replied to was replying to
Jose Young
you lost me
Logan Reyes
Not the guy you replied to, but he one HE was replying to. So I'm basically on your side, but I'm pointing out that that one example doesn't really prove him wrong. His point wasn't wrong, he just didn't understand what I was talking about.
because the better you get at black and white, the more you realize you need full fucking grayscale, and at that point it's the opposite of diminishing returns to color.
Jose Price
Because color sells A LOT better.
Juan Reed
dude you have like 10 different perspectives going on
without color people see a lot more detail so your shit better be top notch
Mason Rogers
style is developed. this is not.
Easton Reyes
You don't know anything about art, you ignoramus
Connor Hall
still better than dewd, literally
Chase Howard
granted
Robert Reed
first of all, that's wrong secondly, you know for a fact that isn't the real artist saying that. Don't reply to shitposts.
Aaron Fisher
how can you tell he isn't the real artist
Jackson Morris
you're a fag user
Jose Fisher
good faith, the pattern of the humility this artist has shown so far, the fact that no real person would say that, the preponderance of absolutely godawful bait on Yea Forums lately that people fall for regardless, take your fucking pick.
Jeremiah Perez
For a second there i thought that was Satanica and was disappointed she mellowed out, but im glad it wasn't her. Are we gonna see the old demon goats book club again?
Jace Howard
uuh why cant i post
Brandon Young
Yea Forums shat the bed it was only one of those little bloops though like when you eat too many chips
Lincoln White
Is the donut steel threads still a thing or have they been folded into these threads?
Parker Perez
don't know and no not that I don't want them to be, I'd be relatively cool with that. but it bugs me how Yea Forums has lost its OC creating roots, often threads based on OCs getting deleted.
Matthew Wilson
>love collaborative work >love writing scripts >have developed stories for comics >would love to work on others' work >know no one >have to pay if I want to see my comics made I'm poor and shit at networking. I wish people enjoyed reading scripts so I could just post that and feel good about what I produce, but there's no audience for that, either. Fuck me.
Dominic Rodriguez
If you enjoy writing, why not write a novel and publish it yourself?
Isaac Robinson
I don't want to pursue writing prose. I've studied with and under a lot of writers in that field or entering that field, and it's a long, lonely writing process. I'd like to work collaboratively.
Josiah Phillips
it has only just begun to shit
Logan Foster
its clear you have an understanding but still, need to practice your backgrounds look more like a bunch of different houses drawn from different angles you should really work on your proportions and construction of anatomy and the colors you used are all terrible together
try using a limited color pallete and don't be afraid of line variety comicbooky inking is what makes bright colors really stick out and look good

>Are we gonna see the old demon goats book club again? Not to spoil but Yes, they're an imporant element of the story!
can't say I'm fully pleased with how I've been having to digitally color ringo since my move, but this is good enough that I'm not ashamed of it. New page!
Eh, I'm cool with it. Though I suppose Percy would be stuck kissing Cole's foot and her robot's if she lost. Character wise it kind of works. Percy has enough of a hatred for bullies and schemers like Cole to agree to a stipulation like that. She'd risk her pride like that just for the chance of humbling Cole.
>I'm sure he could come up with something really fitting
I was thinking Percy having to surrender her Fisherman pin and then being put on display in a carnival tank with only her hands to cover herself looking incredibly embarrassed with her back to the viewer so Cole can get her investment's worth.
>Fishsticc Hehehehe! (Is she that much of a sticc? Is Cole er, thiccer than Percy?)
I like it! The wavy hair is real cute. Her hairstyle keeps changing, but she IS a girl after all so that's the be expected. I like the eye motif. The eye name came about because Thule use them to sense things, but also because they can have concentric layers like an eye with the iris and pupil for structural adaptability. Putting an eye design on the fields...actually represents both qualities of Thule eyes, so great job! I think I might have to include that for future Percy drawings...
In "canon" Percy doesn't have webbed toes (she is part human after all) but if flipper feet are easier don't sweat it, it's a pretty minor detail all things considered.
Daniel Young
where all da bodice ripping, hair pulling catfights at?
Jordan Cox
Im trying to get 3 pages of my comic done this week but once thats over Ill draw Azu doing sexy battle stuff. Yeah.
How does the eye thing work? Like a forcefield around her?
sadness never really visited them until they were gone.
Was going to ask about what colors worked best on a character i'm designing. Would that be a question for this thread, the donut thread, or somewhere else?
It's a constant telepathic field. At rest, its so subtle that you can't feel it if you walk into it and she can "see" through it by feeling pressure and displacement. At will or through a reflexive response to something moving fast through it, it hardens like a forcefield. It can also be manipulated to pick things up and apply pressure like telekinesis.
Aeons ago, Thule were exiled telepaths that had to work around the clock to maintain telekinetic bubbles just to avoid having their aquatic community die. Aeons of evolution changed these bubbles into personal eyes that allow the Thule to operate over a much larger range and use their telekinesis to hunt food and fight off (and run) from predatory leviathans.
Austin Watson
>That spoiler So uh...what's Cole's punishment if she loses? Because I rather like the sound of these punishments thus far.
that is my comic's bread and butter. they throw special moves around all the time.
William Foster
Honestly I didn't even notice, that's how smoothly you transitioned. Obviously now I can see the dif, but
Jeremiah Richardson
Battle shonen. Its fun to see people fight in creative ways with cool powers but i know it will instantly kill any story or serious narrative i'm trying to do and end up with crazy power creepm. Plus my webcomic isn't very suited for it
Nicholas Green
palette and face thickness reminds me of that guy from rocket power, not that I ever watched that style evokes semi-recent PBS cartoons based on kids' books but character -design-? Not much to say.
Ethan King
I feel for this guy but it's worse to have it all and lose it, never having used it
Joshua Stewart
Link?
Jeremiah Martin
Richard Williams was already a commercial artist at 16. He had connections, but saying he didn't animate seriously until college implies he wasn't already drawing his ass off beforehand.
That said, it's never too late to make it.
Ethan James
oh it's just me.
Cameron Peterson
Never the writer gave up when he realized that nothing he creates will top Skalmold
Easton Powell
Get your pick done, I'm in the mood to vote on a catfight.
Jaxon Fisher
I want to have more slice of life stuff in my comic but that simply won't work in the setting, it distracts too much from the battle centric story. It will feel like filler chapters if it's too much about things not related to battles.
Logan James
very nice compositions
Charles Butler
I just got some other shit done, so this would be a good time! and I kept a Helga ref (any additional useful info would be appreciated though) I fucking lucked out. I'm never gonna make it more than one round so this time I get to partner with Magi aaaa
James Parker
Do the stick figure thing nonetheless just to see if your story works
Samuel Rogers
Friendly reminder to leave these threads and Yea Forums in general if you want to get good.
Yea Forums is a timesink and spirit-killer, if you want actual constructive feedback you need to find a community that will actually support and encourage you.
I left this place since months back and my workflow has increased and my audience is steadily growing, hell I'm already profiting from it on Patreon.
It's a slow painful grind but it's all worth it at the end. Take care fellows.
Xavier Green
don't come back fagget
Alexander Allen
Post proof. Link your work.
Josiah Walker
Name one animator/comic artist that made it and didn't start when he was 16
Im glad you like it. i am going to get started this weekend, as soon as i i get my regular updste out. >that spoiler wew lad! i need to up the ante on my punishment if Cole loses. here i was thinking the cruelest thing i could do to her is force her to apologize. maybe force cole to give up the clothes off her back, and the giant robot. Percy would look cute in sentai gear.
Isaac Evans
based
Mason Rivera
That could work!
Kayden Green
So, anyone have predictions?
1. Fishergirl 2. Azu 3. Estella 4. Helga
Which would result in a tie between good and evil.
Chase Foster
Stephen Hillenburg didn’t start art until he was 31.
Bunny. You could even make it look a little like Azu with the fur color and eyes.
Lincoln Allen
I like cockroaches (yes), but bunny sounds better. If she loses ill put Azu on a bunnygirl suit. Im sure thats sexy.
But do what thou must.
We gonna get rekt but ill have fun with it.
Adam Brown
Spongebob is a direct result of his pre-art life as a marine biologist so probably not. Besides, you’re moving goalposts. You asked for an example that someone could make it without starting in high school and I gave you one.
Thomas Russell
Embarrassed bunny girl Azu sounds adorable.
Austin Gutierrez
Wasn't he just a director? I don't remember any footage of him actually drawing or animating the work. Besides, it's just one show.
Nicholas Rodriguez
oh I'm not even that guy this is just literally the first time I remembered who that is, because of when he died and Yea Forums cried so much i feel bad about not liking spongebob, I just don't. It's very surprising he had a bio background given how everything in that show seems like it was made by someone totally ignorant of the subject.
Easton Gonzalez
>everything in that show seems like it was made by someone totally ignorant of the subject. You should actually rewatch the show
Oliver Ward
never watched more than a few minutes of it, not my cup of whatever his trademark favorite beverage is
Luis Nguyen
>spongebob fits in your palm >the whale girl isn't much bigger
Jonathan Moore
>krusty krab restaurant run by a crab is literally just a wooden crab trap >what a coincidence
Ethan Green
okay that's cute. I guess there's a lot of good stuff I'm not aware of, in order for it to be so popular there must be.
Matthew Perry
cant believe I didnt add this stupid shit I made dont worry if nothing is clear
He went to art college and actually worked as an animator on Rocko's Modern Life before designing and pitching The Intertidal Zone (Now known as Spongebob Squarepants).
But he went from having no art experience and wanting to make that change to being an art college grad animating for Nick over the span of 4 years, and went from a nobody first year art college student with no art experience and a STEM work history to the premiere of Spongebob Squarepants in 10 years.
It's never too late, user, especially if you're on the young side of 50. It's just a matter of how willing you are to go all in.
Andrew Nguyen
i... want to come back, i want to make webcomics again..............
Well, look at what you posted. Big Bang comics had a successful run plus an rpg. Entire superhero universes have revolved on pastiche like Top Ten, Supreme, and Astro City.
Look at Marvel. They have more Superman pastiches than DC just going off the number of Hyperion variants.
Cape comics have a long, long history of pastiche. You'd have to try really, really hard to get yourself in trouble with not-Captain America.
Ah man, that reminds me of the Ms. Cryptic character I came up with a few years back. She was mothman+flatwoods monster and a paranormal investigator who taught superhuman children science and rationality. Her thing was that a world where magic and superpowers were real, rationality and skepticism would be more--not less--important.
She's one of the many characters I need to do something with.
In the 90's Some dork tried to relaunch Fighting American, an old Cap pistache but Marvel's lawyers stopped them and had to relaunch Fighting American without the round shield like Cap's. I'm concerned about stuff like that, I do want my Cap pistache to have a shield but I'm unsure how far it can go without getting me in troubles.
Nolan Green
Dig it, I love the convenient and weird shit from that genre. One I made up once had the lifeforms of an island getting irradiated by some chunk of crystal from space that made them able to convert into storable light, it's just the most fun, those trappings.
Oliver Turner
That was Liefeld, who has an entire library of not-characters.
If you're really worried, just make the shield really distinct. Make it out of liquid metal that can change its shape to block different attacks. Stick a retractable sword on it. Don't have him throw it, have it spin on his arm like a buzzsaw. Easy fixes like that.
Josiah Ramirez
>pistache man I could go for a good pistache. I heard they're fulla phytoestrogens though your pastiche will be fine, just don't make him blue with wings on his head.
Adrian Gonzalez
Thank you! And wow, that sounds really cool. Those kind of tropes are so wild to play with, I love it.
Angel Lee
Are oni horns important? How can Rau just break it off and be completely fine
Christian Thomas
They arent a vital part of their bodies, just a proof of the curse being in them. Onis also can regenerate most injuries so even if you break it it would slowly grow up again which is why she keeps filing it.
The scene of Rau breaking the horn is more about her self-harming and rejecting her oni nature than anything.
in comparison, Azu horns are getting bigger and bigger.
Brayden Miller
horns are often part of your fucking skeleton. Some of them are keratin, some are bone covered in keratin, some are naked lightweight bone that comes out covered in skin first, some are bits of keratin that attach to the skull and then ossify later, with skin AND fur on them.. these all have different technical terms, but I think the key here is these oni are transformed humans, so the rules are probably all out the window. most people draw oni like bovid horns (which are just pure keratin all the way through, and can be sawn off and grown back), and it's theorized that the whole point of oni is mixing characteristics of a tiger and ox, because of their compass system that used different zodiac signs to denote directions
Ian Sanders
>so are all the cryptids from another world? Pretty much yeah. I think it would be a good idea if I did this in a setting without humans, though if I did do something like that it would need to be explained that the world is full of moth people, sasquatch people, etc. rather than just have all the individual cryptids in one world. Unless I just fill the world with oc cryptids but I don't like that idea so much.
Michael Moore
>That was Liefeld, who has an entire library of not-characters. I know, but with Liefeld you can't tell at first sight, dunno if that is his real talent. >If you're really worried, just make the shield really distinct. Make it out of liquid metal that can change its shape to block different attacks. Stick a retractable sword on it. Don't have him throw it, have it spin on his arm like a buzzsaw. Easy fixes like that. All good ideas, I see what can I do differently Time to commit sudoku
Jayden Lee
I was just thinking about you yesterday. I'm glad to see you still exist
Mason Diaz
If you don't want to do "big foot race, chupacabra race, mothman race" you could always make them like fairies so that they're all part of the same "race" but individually distinct. It'll also allow you to bring in UFO stuff like grays and reptilians given the strong parallels between fairy narratives and abduction narratives.
Do you have a discord? I would love to work with you more on this stuff.
>Do you have a discord? I would love to work with you more on this stuff. Sure thing! It's Kos#8441 If you got any ideas for what other cryptids shouls look like I'd love to see/hear them. I wanna try and give each cryptid their own personality. Also, I'm interested to hear more of this fairy/UFO thing you mentioned.
Aiden Allen
I used some letter stickers for the dialogue this week.
That... REALLY accomplishes the goal of making him sound like he's nervous and trying to just finish up the social niceties and book it. nice job. you and Ringo comic have a lot in common
Zachary Lee
Hnnng, excellent. Truly excellent. And on top of everything else, jackets are hard to draw. Jackets and pockets, and arms bent I don't even have the heart to tell you her hand is just disappearing once it enters the pocket.
Joshua Powell
Why is she so flat?
Charles Sullivan
Thank you so much! I honestly really appreciate you pointing that out about the hand! I didn't catch it when I drew it, but I noticed it as soon as I uploaded it on here and you're absolutely right. I'll go back in and fix it.
I think the heavy jacket doesn't leave much to the imagination, haha.
Thomas Jones
Wait, I worded that wrong, haha. I meant the opposite, it would be hard to tell much under such a heavy jacket, haha
Jonathan Reed
>tfw my main alien species are pretty much humans-in-makeup >actually dislike this because it's such a common trope and i like weird alien designs >way too attatched to the designs to change them now since i've had them for years i have other weirder aliens but the ones you see the most fall into this hard and it saddens me
Colton Cook
because JUSTICE, user, jesus. and if there's any justice in the world, because it was drawn in a mirror...
John Morales
yeah I wish I'd gotten more creative with my aliens too what I suggest is you make the other, more creative ones too, and just make them in the background, or make them nonsentient species from those same planets.
Thomas Walker
>Being this thirsty
Christian Ortiz
Isn't there a pic of Oni X Fox somewhere?
Logan Parker
I have that video bookmarked because every part was the part that got too real
Ringo is a big inspiration for me so thanks for noticing.
Joshua Rogers
I'm the opposite and love the typical greens/grays aliens so much I made them my species in my comic, albeit with varying body shapes and in space suits.
Haha. Truth be told I wish it was drawn in a mirror. That would mean the jacket actually fits me properly instead of being so oversized.
Learning how to start over is a massive, MASSIVE step in art, probably-not-real-feelsposter user. I've wasted SO much time trying to fix shit once you get comfortable and confident in your art, you won't have that feeling of "Can't lose what I've made so far, can't waste progress, gotta fix and alter it until it's acceptable" as much. Sometimes you have to start over, and it actually saves time
Xavier Green
>Learning how to start over is a massive, MASSIVE step in art It's not even exclusive to just art, but tons of other work as well. But, he's right. It saves you a lot of time, and most often I find that you can visualize something better after you already tried to draw it. Poses are a good example of this.
Camden Jenkins
How smoll are you?
Brayden Barnes
I'm at least taller than the alien.
Elijah Long
Poor lil dude is just "the alien?"
Aaron Wright
That's one thing I don't think I've ever seen, a human character on an alien planet who just gets called 'alien' without anyone bothering to learn his name or even his species. Did that happen in Planet 51? I only saw that once and it was just okay.
Lincoln Gutierrez
Haha naw, his name is actually Super Cadet Nismo!
Kayden Bailey
does it stand for Not InSide My Orifice? because I don't wanna get probed.
Nathan Martin
Nismo isn't a threat, but there's a fellow alien named Probe who might be questionable.
I'm scared. probes are Pretty Rough On the Back End.
Hunter Morris
Fucking boomers I swear
Sebastian Sanders
hey I still loved cartoons when spengberb came out, GOOD ones.. the stuff cartoon network was showing at the time. it's just anime was really coming into full swing and I had no desire to watch something that seemed so goofy.
Blake Bell
Some don't mutate, then? Also are all the Transients human? I remember the alien girl seemed to think of the protagonist as something beneath her
John Allen
Fifty Shades of Gray amirite?
Nathaniel Wilson
>Anime isn't goofy
Oliver Reed
There's a difference It's like the cheapness of the sets and props in a monty python movie are different from those of a normal low budget stage production
I just had a weird brainstorm for some kind of Robocop-tier-sardonic scifi story where the voyager probe contained recordings of our hottest commercials, rather than classical music and whalesong and shit. imagine earth getting adblocked
Parker Collins
Who is this character then
Andrew Gutierrez
the junkions turned our tv into a religion. so no telling what aliens think of our culture.
when i was a kid, my dad used to always tell me a story about his alien encounter when he was a cross country trucker. he said the aliens told him that the only reason they visit earth is for krispy kreme donuts. that is the only thing of value on the entire planet. i choose to believe him.
Caleb Allen
She's the main character of the comic I'm working on!
I'm getting a good laugh out of imagining that! I can picture it now, nothing but the best commercials, from J.G.Wentworth to Education Connection!
Krispy Kreme donuts are fantastic, so I wouldn't doubt it, haha!
Not going to lie, all I get from this is that this page was made by a kidnapper, and they wanted to make a ransom note but they also wanted to be creative so they made it into a comic page.
Aiden Jackson
Friend request sent! I'm Cosmicwatcher.
In folklore, there's a known connection between accounts of fairies and alien abduction narratives. Strange lights in the sky that lure travelers, an abduction to a strange place, and lost time. Read Thomas the Rhymer or the like and the connection is strong. You even have your seele and unseele divisions. Nordics/Space Brothers are good and want to heal you with crystals. Reptilians are bad and want to eat you.
As for potential cryptids, have you looked into sky creatures? I'm having them show up in my own webcomic because they're cool.
You could go one further into the occult and bring elementals into the picture. Beings like Loch Ness are undines, sky creatures are sylphs, mothman and big foot are gnomes, and dragons of all kinds are salamanders.
i thought we were waiting for Gus to return from his roadtrip and bury his friend in the desert
Isaiah Hall
Why don't you just have different drawings on different layers so you can try to redraw it without losing anything
Kevin Robinson
Do scripts really help people that much when making a comic? Isn't it just wasted time that you could've spent actually drawing the comic
Christopher Kelly
It depends, if you make some simple humor based comic you don't need much of a script but if you have a big story with deep plot lines I find it hard to believe someone can do it without script.
Easton Lopez
Are there any other good websites to post your webcomics on. After moot left I lost my ability to post pics here. Fucking moot.
Jason Baker
Making a "shopping list" is good. Write down the general order of events and clever quips you want. Don't write out panel designations or even page numbers unless vital to whatever story you tell. In the end, you should have some rough slalom course to follow, you're not writing mission critical software so bugs are okay.
