This guy literally went from being the most dreaded villain of the show to a fucking joke and monster of the week, What happened?
This guy literally went from being the most dreaded villain of the show to a fucking joke and monster of the week...
The show got rebooted a dozen times.
The writers stopped caring
It ended when he got dabbed on multiple time in the OS that they needed a bigger threat. Vilgax changes after the OS made him look like a one off punk instead of a powerhouse.
Last I checked Vilgax was still dangerous in the reboot.
Like the character consistently taken seriously.
It was only rebooted once.
Whenever a villain becomes too popular, the writers always end up turning them into a hero so that the villain can stick around and not be killed off. One of the worst tropes, because it weakens the villain, takes away their edge and they lose the element that made audiences like them in the first.
"Honorable Warrior Vilgax" from UAF was shit.
>Shows up in Alien Force
>Kills the Galactic Enforcers and steals their powers
>Good start
>Mops the floor with the plumbers kids
>End of episode, Fights Ben
>Even with his new powers, He's still nowhere near the level of the OS version
>Gets beaten by Diamondhead, Even though in the OS Diamondhead had his crystals crushed when he tried to stab Vilgax
>Fast forward to Omniverse
>Is a little shit who's afraid of Attea and Sixsix(Remember the time Vilgax scared Sixsix in line and then held him on a leash?)
>Next appearance, Ma Vreedle episode, Literally shows up halfway through to get cucked by a gag character
Omniverse ruined him along with the rest of the franchise, The Ma Vreedle scene ruined any credibility he had, They could've just had Vulcanus do it
>Omniverse ruined
Vilgax jobber over and over again in Alien Force. His victories happened offscreen.
When he started to become more like the Glorft.
I miss them
Losing a fight against the main hero isn't the same as being scared off by a gag character, You can't expect anyone to take him seriously after that
They were better than Vilgax
To be fair, his "Honourable Warrior" schtick was always treated as him fooling Ben. Like when they team-up to retake Vilgaxria, he is like "Thanks, Ben, i just wanted my two enemies to kill each other so i could finish off the victor."
Meanwhile V.V Argost was a legit and cunning threat throughout all of The Secret Saturdays
He also killed a child, I just have to say that
damn celestial sapiens always fucking rebooting reality
He technically killed Zak Saturday aswell, just the Kur part of him though.
I said the Reboot.
>Vilgax couldn't kill a child in 6
>v.V Argost manages to do so
>Twice
Imagine an intergalactic warlord being one upped by a Yet
Argost is based, he also did a Diavolo where he killed everyone who knew a single bit about him, like Baron Finister and his ol Xing Xing roomie.
>duckduckgo
>Now I'm safe!!
>Gets beaten by Diamondhead, Even though in the OS Diamondhead had his crystals crushed when he tried to stab Vilgax
H-He had practice?
>Reboot
Yeah, Vilgax was pretty cool in the reboot but I honestly haven't seen it in a while.
Diamondhead at that time had just been reborn after years of not using him. He just appeared and whooped Vilgax
Was there a vilgax babe or was i just dreaming?
Myxx i think that her name popped up in the animated movie it been some time
Yeah myaxx
Nice, what was her deal?
She worked with/for Azmuth but he screwed her over so she left
is she a villain? does she like /ss/?
i faintly remember her helping ben
Not a villain, just a genius that got screwed over and is trying to make something for herself. Probably, reality is whatever you want it to be.
She does help Ben in the movie
Myaxx was introduced in Secret of the Omnitrix. The premise was that Ben had accidentally activated the Omnitrix's "blow up the universe" function and needed to track down its creator before it exploded. The watch had (what they thought was) its creator Azmuth's DNA signature built in, which they tracked to the prison space station Incarcecon (which, by the way, was specifically not in the Null Void at the time). It turned out that the DNA signature was actually from Myaxx, Azmuth's assistant, who replaced his signature with her own because she felt underappreciated by him. After some silly misunderstandings, they break her out of prison and she helps them track down the real Azmuth. She ultimately decides to go back to being his assistant, despite him admitting that he probably isn't going to show her any more appreciation.
Anyway, Myaxx's deal is that she's jealous of Azmuth's fame and wants to be recognized for her contributions to science, because she resents him getting all the glory for things they worked on together. She's also the same species as Vilgax, so everyone thinks she's a total badass like him, but she's actually a coward who runs and hides at the first sign of danger. She's probably not as strong as him, either, since a lot of his strength came from the enhancements he added to himself after being blown up.
Also, she showed up in Alien Force with a totally different design. Please ignore that.
>Diavolo
Huh, that actually sounds cool. What would happen if the Saturdays went after Polpo's arrow or the Requiem Arrow and earned his ire? How long would they last?
What if Argost and Diavolo learned about each other's existences/names?
How did they fuck it up so badly?
......this will do
I don't think the Saturdays would investigate parapsychic phenomenon that stands essentially are, some other Secret Scientists would be more fit for that, its still artifacts but not tied with cryptids.
Diavolo would have just killed Argost with King Crimson, unless Argost had found some mad powerful artifact to counter stand abilities and time manipulation.
I always get a kick out of that over the top explosion of the building.
To me, basically original series vilgax is a huge badass that has been searching his entire life for the omnitrix which at this point is wielded by a child.
in AF/UA, his galactic law shit was actually pretty clever in some ways. He really rinsed a lot of people but Ben had a lot of training in the time/help with fighting him off
in Omniverse, ben doesn't give a shit about him because he's so used to it. I think having him fear ma vreedle was funny as no one takes any dangerous situations seriously in the show.
Argost was a badass
>"Let me go Argost!"
>"But I only just abducted you. At least let me savor the moment."
>Proceeds to school Fisk
He was the master of the ruse and his love for cliche monster movie plots just made him even more enjoyable, he is weaponizing tropes for fucks sake.
He is also a quote machine
>"Did I? Oh, there were so many back in those days, one can hardly remember each individual scream."
>"You wound me, dear boy, of course I'll be plotting behind your back. I am going to deceive you, manipulate you and when I've gotten what I want . . . well . . . I'll let your imagination conjure up the gruesome finale. Your only hope of survival is that somehow the things I teach you will be enough for a twelve-year-old boy to outwit the world's most dangerous mind, before I render you to pieces like a wolverine with a squeak toy."
>"Munya we're losing this fight. Naturally I blame you. Please, fly us home to hide your shame."
>"It wounds me to melt the insides of such a magnificent beast... but I'm a very petty man!"
I like his speech about all the life on earth.
Wait, how did he and Xing Xing watch the TV...in a cave....in the Himalayas...
Cryptid magic.
Steve Blum stopped voicing hin
But cryptids are science, thats what Doc told me
inb4 "No, Cryptids are light!"
>Gives wheelchair bound guy designs for new legs
>Instead of regular pair of legs or something its a fucking scorpion
What a lad
I haven't really followed the reboot, but they treated Vilgax like a big deal whenever he showed up. He was portrayed like season 1 Vilgax, except he preferred to lie and backstab his way into getting what he wanted, with his strength being a last resort when his plans fall apart. Even Cal-arts Ben usually knew to stop cracking jokes when he appeared.
Just with Diamondhead? Seems silly, Tetrax is probably peak performance, and he couldn't do shit against Vilgax
More like mydicc lmao
>Why isn't show same in every iteration?????
Not every villain is meant to be a world slayer forever. He can only get his ass kicked by Ben so many times before it's like, yeah he's not that tough. It's a natural progression.
he was only a threat because the omnitrix didn't exist at that point. after that he jobbed.
Vilgax only really got beaten by Ben 3 times in the OS: the ship blowing up in S1, getting contained in the Null Void in S2, and getting thrown into space by WayBig in SotO. Every other Vilgax appearance is a dream/alternate timeline
Well, there's your answer.
Alternate timelines are fair game for literally any concept.
oh
