He WOULD be right if Superman was actually as bad as Lex says he is. Sure, there's been a number of Supermen across the multiverse who go down the wrong path, but but in most universes he's good. That whole thing about him setting a standard most men can't reach is true, but Superman is fully aware of it and usually limits himself to dealing with the shit humanity can't overcome on its own, and playing a support role in helping them sort shit out. The average human can't leap tall buildings in a single bound or benchpress cruise ships but when it comes to strength of heart, anyone can be as strong as Superman, and that's what the Man of Steel tries to get people to realize. In most universes, even some of the ones where he's an evil dictator, he genuinely doesn't WANT to rule the world because he can't handle the stress of micromanaging the entire planet.
