That's a fair look at things, but I feel like both the fans and the films themselves make Tony out to be a perfect saint. I would have liked to see Peter realize in FFH or in a third MCU Spider-Man that while Tony did truly want to protect Peter, he did it in flawed ways (essentially kidnapping him and making him a child soldier) and did other shitty things in his life.

Raimi's was good. Webb's was not (though the movie was decent, otherwise). The point is more that we've seen Peter become Spider-Man twice, and the fact Sony will probably do it again is a drag. Sure, Tony's influence is a bit heavy on ol' Holland-Man, but fuck, at least we were moving past the endless rehash of a story we've seen countless times.

Which was fine. Of all the changes to dislike about MCU Spidey, an Aunt May that isn't 108 years old is pretty low on the list.
