Pixar or Ghibli?
Pixar or Ghibli?
Neither
I don't like choosing but my inner weeb screams Ghibli.
Pixar isn't thinly veiled pedophilia/antiwar propaganda
porco rosso wins it for ghibli imo
Ghibli, Pixar has Cars. they're the closest a western studio has come to Ghibli's quality though,
Can I pick old Ghibli? I haven't liked their newer movies as much as the 80's and 90's stuff.
>porco rosso wins
Neither Pixar nor Miyazaki will ever come near something as beautiful as this movie (again). Legitimately one of my favorite movies of all time with a god tier soundtrack.
Ghibli never makes sequel movie to milk the money
Ghibli always make great movies
Pixar made cars trilogy and finding dore
Also CGI movies age like shit, Ghibli classics still look fantastic and will look fantastic forever.
They should.
With the exception of like one or two movies when you've seen one Ghibli movie you've seen them all. Pixar, at least early Pixar, has way more variety in it's narratives and visuals than anything Myazaki has shat out.
>implying that Pixar got any variety
>never got one single bittersweet let alone tragic ending
>same shitty villain twist over and over again
Pixar is extremely safe, repetitive and kiddie.
They killed my nigga Up.
You got good taste user
Wish Ghibli made more films with adventure or action like Castle in the Sky or Mononoke. I can only take so much artsy cute shit
all ghibli stories are essentially the same "girl growing up" shit and i struggle to describe its characters personalities as anything but one dimensional concepts.
Chihiro is by far their best film, and i think miyasaki peaked with nausica as an adventure manga.
Pixar is not that great either i dont even like toy story, but i think rattouile and monsters inc are some of the best cgi movies ever made and tell me more about life than any ghibli work.
Too bad for wall-e's second half, still a great film but it had so much potential.
There is no comparing them, whatsoever. Ghibli makes art, actual films. Pixar makes commercials for merch, light comedies with parts written for the sake of their Hollywood celebrity 'actors', entire movies conceived for the sake of pushing whatever cultural marxism issues are momentarily popular. Pixar is a racket like everything else captured by Jews.
>tfw no Ace Combat movie made by Ghibli
what did he meant by this.
PIXAR is much more notable for its' technology development and history (the print-to-film laser scanner, Image Computer, ILM work, milestones in CG imagery, etc.) therefore anything Ghibli has done is miles below Pixar as it has never "pushed" the arts beyond good visuals and storytelling.
>ching chong I’m an underage girl
Damn, Miyazaki does it again.
You got Porco Rosso
For me,it’s Dreamworks
Ghibli by a hair. Both Pixar and Ghibli have 10/10 works to me. For Pixar, I love Up and Wall-E. For Ghibli, I adore Totoro and Castle in the Sky.
I never saw the appeal in Porco Rosso. It's actually one of my least favorite of Ghibli alongside Howl's Moving Castle and From Up on Poppy Hill. I didn't like those works much. I also was not that much of a fan of Pixar's Monsters Inc.
>This new Disney movie will keep my spawn occupied, right? And teach them good Social Values?
did you just had a stroke?
Pixar is super safe and all their movies are basically the same
>Hurr i want to be happy
>Predictable Twist
>Villain defeated
>Yay Im happy ever after
I really like seaplanes and how comfy the region looks. I don't know, it's just a cool movie to me, you got air pirates, you got racing seaplanes that were converted to fighters, you got mercenaries, you got a comfy café akin to Louie's from Talespin, you got that fucking take off from the river and you even got a qt mechanic. What more do you want? It just clicks with me in all the right ways.
I feel like it's perhaps a bit anticlimactic with some of the dogfighting that's in it, but overall I just really like it for the subject matter. It and Nausicaa are probably my favourites from them. Though I have to rewatch Castle in the Sky again sometime.
Ghibli
Why it has to be "or"?
Phoneposting is good.
