Even people in warner wanted him, some people in warner had wanted to age up hal forever, they wanted Stwart as the main GL since before the Ryan Reynolds movie. After it flopped people wanted to brake up with the character and put focus in the core, with John as a veteran and Kyle as a rookie, with Hal as a fallen hero and parallax. But of course, some people working in WB, hated the idea of not making Hal the center of the story and shilled against it.
