I can't help but to feel bitter about the Phineas and Ferb movie announcement at D23 after they shoved the show's characters in Milo Murphy's Law.

And a lot of people don't seem to realize how the Phineas and Ferb movie is also an attempt to cash in on nostalgia. They aren't even aware of Milo Murphy's Law's existence.

What a shame.

Milo failed. PnF succeeded. Disney naturally demanded more of what succeeded.

Expect new seasons of PnF on Disney+ after the movie.

Milo Murphy's Law could've been a great show had it tried to stand on its own legs instead of leaning on the success of its predecessor.

I feel like it might've been executive meddling that forced Phineas and Ferb into the show but I honestly don't know.

Milo probably would have succeeded if Disney promoted it more often than Never.

Disney probably had it out against MML from the start since it wasn't PNF and thus wasn't instant money.

Fun fact Milo's final episode got more views than Star Vs's finally.

>Barely promote the series
>Only aired less than a month of new episodes when the series premiered and immediately go on hiatus
>Dump the show in the bomb format months later throughout 2017 with little to no promotion
>Spoil the big reveal of Dr. Doof in the season finale promo
>Instead of premiering the next season in early 2018, they pushed it to over a year later in January 2019
>Air all of season 2 Saturday mornings with little to no promotion
Gee, I wonder why it failed.

So both Milo and Star failed? Got it.

Also Star gets more discussion than Milo.

Shipping and waifu wars isn't the same thing as "discussion"

It's like Disney wanted Milo to fail.

Star has way more shipping shit than Milo. Why else would people flip their shit about a minor character getting a girlfriend?

At least they uploaded a wallpaper

>No real promotion for MML until Doofenshmirtz; which is first time show airs on main channel
>Heinz added to second season
>Disney XD features Phineas and Ferb to an extent that even currently airing shows don't get; no other former show gets yearly complete marathons or has consistently been aired as much
>Even after ended, still popped up in bumpers on other channels like Disney, Jr, which didn't even air PnF
>Disney+ advertising prominently features the show; Candace vs. the Universe was one of the first projects announced

Disney either never even wanted Phineas and Ferb to end in the first place or suffered almost immediate buyer's remorse.

Probably one of the creators is controversial somehow.

I think the creator's wanted it to end as they were running really dry on ideas by the time the show ended? Show ending might've heavily been their decision much like Gravity Falls with Alex Hirsch and we know Disney didn't want that to end either.

Neither Dan nor Swampy did controversial things. I think it's more like Disney wants to milk PnF as much as possible.

Which is funny because Alex ran away to Fox, only for the studio to be bought by Disney.

Dan said that they were given the option first of continuing the show with another season with an option for more, then another season of mixed specials and regular episodes like Season 4, and finally just as a series of annual specials. They opted to shift over to Milo altogether but we saw how that turned out.

Of the lot, the specials seemed like it would have turned out the best; the last season was of really uneven quality but the specials were mostly really good. More Halloween specials would have been especially welcome; Dawn of the Living Doof for instance.

I'd be down for yearly specials/movies of Phineas and Ferb tbqh

Soooo, like does he just bum around there house now? What could have possibly happened to have him move into a strangers house?

Murphy's Law destroyed the Doofenshmirtz Evil Inc tower.

Like Treasure Planet. Fuck petty corporate shit. You have a stranglehold over the industry already and you still take the fucking time to piss over your own brands.

I'll take more Phineas And Ferb seasons over more Milo seasons any day

It's such a shame. MML really starte to find it's legs by the end of the first season.

Who the fuck has nostalgia for Phineas and Ferb? are Zoomers really taking over this board?

I wish Phineas and Ferb never ended desu, it was the closest Disney had to a show like SpongeBob in terms of popularity and airtime. They could have easily milked it for decades.

Fuck that, SpongeBob is absolute dogshit and has been for over a decade.

Phineas and Ferb ended with most of its dignity in tact and I don't want that to change.

but with a cost in terms of quality.

Every episode is literally the same, the quality of the writing would never change

You've either only seen a few episodes, never watched the show or a fucking moron if you think the writing wouldn't suffer if this show was dragged out zombie Simpsons/SpongeBob style

Some people eventually left PnF because it got too repetitive.

I think it went out at a high note but had it gone on longer it would have lost it's charm. Season 4 had some of the best episodes but also some duds and you could feel the writers itching for some change.

On the other hand I'd have loved to see more specials. The higher stakes and longer run times let the writers play with some bigger ideas without straying from what felt like Phineas and Ferb.

Get over, Op.

>and finally just as a series of annual specials.
This would have been best. Some fun experimental ones and a few that wrapped up plotlines like the kids finding about about Perry without getting their minds erased and maybe one that focused solely on Doof switching sides as I found the last episode a little rushed.

>Phineas and Ferb was first released back in 2008
>Still remember when it first came out and I liked it, and when I was excited to see the movie where they go to the 2nd dimension back in 2011
>Still remember when I uploaded Phineas and Ferb videos on my youtube channel back when you could customize your youtube channel's page and make group with other channels an everything
>That was almost a decade ago
>That feel when Phineas and Ferb is now over 12 years old
>That feeling when my younger brother is one year younger than Phineas and Ferb
>That feel when Phineas and Ferb is old enough for people to get nostalgia for it and for an entire generation to be born after it
>Mfw I am growing old and there's nothing I can do about it

Was it 2008?
Jesus, Disney put that show on the rerun grind for a decade.

Leftovers of season 1.

the Doof zombie special was called Night Of The Living Pharmacists.

2007 actually, the only reason it was popular was because it was Disney's only cartoon for a long time. it wasn't until 2010 where we got cartoons like Fish Hooks and Kick Buttowski, but both of them failed, so P&F still remained popular

Yes, but they made a parody poster of the sequel.

Disney wanted to milk it, but Dan and Swampy wouldn't let them.

So Disney neutered the marketing for Milo Murphy's Law, to the point that they added Doof to the cast to bring in viewers like it was an episode of "The Brady Bunch" with Cousin Oliver.

So now Dan and Swampy have no choice but to keep milking PnF. Lesson learned: don't fuck with the Mouse.

Pretty much.
Hell, they were all too happy to announce a Phineas and Ferb movie was on the way when announcing Disney+ earlier this year.

And yet, they will never release the series on Blu-ray or even DVD.

>Expect new seasons of PnF on Disney+ after the movie.
Oh god no, let it stay dead.
The second half of season 4 sucked dick and it was obvious they ran out of good episode ideas early in season 4.

Too late!

What do you mean by that? The official account uploaded it quite recently.

What makes me realise why it's hit the nostalgia cycle is that High School Musical meta musical series they're making now.

I remember Phineas and Ferb being promoted alongside the sequal for starring Ashley Tisdale.

Ashley is based.

Pnf was just a better show than MML. It has the superior cast and a better structure.

True, true.

The Replacements and Emperor's New School were still running during PnF's first season.

Plus the show dwarfed the popularity of anything that aired before it and, at its height, any animated show for Disney since. Even Gravity Falls only passed Phineas and Ferb in the ratings only during the fourth season when it was shifted over to DXD as part of an attempt to get people to pick up that network.

Stop parroting the creator's opinions like they're the unbiased truth you faggot, disney gave the show a chance and did a ton of marketing early on and stopped giving a fuck when the show flopped anyway. Why waste airtime on something that's guaranteed low ratings? In my opinion the premise for the main storyline was hot garbage anyway

The Milo cast is underdeveloped.

What they could've done:
Milo: His optimism hides his low self-esteem because of Murphy's Law
Melissa: Is always excited when there's danger. To her it means a new adventure.
Zack: Constantly in fear. His arc is trying to overcome it.

For Melissa her bravery has been toned down, same for Zack's cowardice. They should just amp them up, especially because they're in a wacky cartoon.

Wild and unfounded theories are okay because they shit on le ebil executives stifling the creativity of poor innocent creators. Disney made dan and swampy take out the dumb insect trio bullshit from phineas and ferb, and you can't tell me that was a bad move. Of course, you'll only hear about how it's because disney's sacrificing muh artistic integrity or some other excuse.

If only they gave as much promotion for MML when it was on Disney Channel as when it was on DXD.

They should to play more with the insecurities of the trio.
I would have liked to see Milo more vulnerable.
Melissa suffered the other end and her flaws were removed in season 2.
Zack's arc is good, the problem was that he was not "distributed" well during the series.

On the other hand are Cavendish and Dakota.
Cavendish was the one who had the most development, went through several stages.
Dakota on the other hand, had his moment with the island but after that, he only look for Cavendish.
