Let's talk about finales Yea Forums
and why did Regular Show have the only decent one?

Was never even a huge fan of this show, but that finale gives me so many feels
>This will be the last season.
This is when The Simpsons ended. Change my mind.
Regular Show's was very good. Adventure Time's sucked cock.
Let's get this over with because we all know why you made this thread.
MLP finale just leaked this morning.
Yes.
It's also fucking horrible, hence why I brought up Regular Show as the one and only good example
OP confirmed as Barneyfag
I feel insulted you would compare me to Lee
I liked the ending of SVTFOE.
Mainly because I hated all spells the moment they decided to turn them into retarded plushies who wasted episodes with their shitty slice of life. Glad they are dead.
Also Mina remained alive and now she has a chance to retry her conquer of Earth. She only failed the last time because "muh democracy", and now she has an army of mewmans/monsters/demons/mermaids, pigeons with mechas, etc...
was gonna say 'BS' but you said 'decent' so that's forgivable. clarence had a great finale even if there were no resolutions except for one.
i knew Yea Forums would be flooded with stealth pony threads eventually
i’m happy
Look at Rigby's left kid. Muscleman cucked him.
Still wish Mordecai had gotten with Margaret, she was best girl
Even the comic epilogue was good.
I find CJ a more interesting character than Margaret and still pissed she didn't appear anywhere after the break up, not even in the epilogue comic
Imagine if the show actually did end there. There'd only have been 3-4 seasons that are a little iffy while most of the show is still considered solid. We'd be having debates about which episodes from the later seasons are still worth seeking out (as there were still at least a few at this point).
go back to you barneyfag
Can someone help me put words on why Regular Show's ending was good while the ending of so many other shows were bad
Agreed. I'm pretty tired of all the hate the ending got because suddenly people seem to care about the spider with a hat and friends
Starco happened, so I'm good with it.
Starfags truly have no standards do they?
Based
After season eight, we were pretty much doomed. I only got on this train in January. So I got a pretty good look at how each season got worse as all the bad decisions piled up and the crew tried to change the show to give themselves ego boosts and it was like watching a car pile-up.
I remember people at the time hating it because bat girl.
When did Yea Forums suddenly decided to rewrite history?
If you see Change Your Mind as the finale, then Steven Universe had a pretty decent one too
It could've ended much worse.
I'm sorry it took you got on this late. With every passing year and season it just got worse.
I haven't even finished the past two seasons due to just not caring enough
>Change Your Mind
>Decent
I swear SUfags can be entertained by keys being dangled in front of them
Nah, I’m happy with where I got on. I ended up enjoying EQG much more than everything after season three of the main show. EQG felt like the much needed 2nd attempt, that was far away from McCarthy’s meddling.
Jeez user, calm down.
>spoiler
Get fucked
>you're being childish
>no u
>galactic crisis averted
Other SUfags hated this finale. You're just retarded.
Makes sense. EQG didn't have any of the baggage the series proper did and human sun horse had an actual arc to her character
If you didn't like that then at least there's the movie, so you can get your generic anime-esque fight with a world-ending villain instead
>so you can get your generic anime-esque fight with a world-ending villain instead
Holy shit, that's worse than the "everybody is fine" SU finale.
Cut your fucking head off, please.
He just can't tolerate people might like things he doesn't
>One flavor of shit means you would like another flavor
Fuck you
Yea Forums isn't one person. Not that means the ending was any better.
See it like this: there's a good chance the people who didn't like the ending were very passionate about the show, but only ever come up now to oppose positive opinions who in turn, might not have been very vocal about the show, or liked it that much in the first place.
Adventure Time's ending was honestly the best it could possibly be, outside of how they handled the "candy war."
"They continued having adventures and the world continued to change as time went on." isn't that bad of an ending, it's everything else in the finale that was weak.
I want a fem mordecai gf
That's why Yea Forums can't even mature themselfes.
Like me.
Wait mlp ended? It looks like total shit
Are you on fucking drugs?adventure time ending was fucking shit
The ending was leaked. The final episode actually comes out mid September. I’m not sure how bad the ending is. But I doubt it’ll be any worse than what fans have come to expect of the show.
FOOL!
Does that really count as a finale though?
It felt more like just another episode to me
>I’m not sure how bad the ending is
The final endgame villain actually never existed, it turned out it was just some guy acting as him. Think of the Mandarin fakeout from IM3 on a lesser scale.
It overstayed its welcome
Since it was cancelled, Motorcity's Season 1 finale counts, and it was done rather well. Hit all the right beats.
Lmao no they didn't, most people outside of Yea Forums rated it positively. Everyone called it rushed though, which it was.
I only watched s1 and s2 then left.
You fool!
>Sigh Tier.
>Not even mentioning the "crossing hands" ending in S4.
That ain't no Big Picture Show, OP.
I can’t tell if you’re high, stupid, or trolling.
Please ignore the awful movie.
But we're talking about the finales themselves. I personally could've done with more conflict, since the candy war and Golb sort of just resolved quietly without any real escalation. Plus it would've been nice to see Finn and Jake do more cool stuff (instead of the former being useless and the latter getting knocked out in the first round)
this, not only every character got time to shine but also tied things up in a nice way
>Even the comic epilogue was good
I wasn't aware there was one. Tell me about it.
Season 2? Season 3? OVAs? What are those? You're talking crazy talk.
Because it beautifully, tearfully wrapped up the arc it had been doing for two seasons. The only problem is that Mordecai's girl issues didn't actually less anywhere, he just randomly met a girl he didn't fuck up with.
I never thought I'd see a reaction image of Gavin again, let alone on Yea Forums. God, I miss him. You're a man of good taste.
I liked the movie
mostly because of the drunk elf
>drunk elf
That's it?
You gonna rape her?
Big Picture Show had it all - every character of the show appearing, one of the biggest mysteries of the show reveiled, every character gets to shine and the main trio finally get their goal - being accepted by their community.
And don't forget the ramped-up slapstick and actually heartfelt moments in the movie. The movie was too good for us and clearly showed:
>this is the end, lads.
ended on a cliffhanger that will never be resolved but it was pretty good
Ace'd
Actually managed to make me feel sorry for the Sorcerer.
The best finale for any cartoon
Well, I liked it in general, though I won't pretend like the series proper wasn't far superior
I'm no rapefag user, I would court her naturally
Part of me is annoyed that the Void was teased around season 3 and the furthest it ever really escalates is the season 6 cliffhanger final with no continuation in sight.
The other part of me is relieved that the show is over with no continuation in sight.
The potential for funny but semi-serious to serious world building material was right in front of Ben but instead we got references and satirical political commentary that originally had very little to do with the show at all. Granted all of that world building could have gone the wrong way too, but if I had known what Gumball would become, I would have still wanted more Void stuff.
>spoiler
Finally, a man with patrician taste.
I haven't been following it for some time, spoil me
I know its a mini series but this still fucks me up.
Good show.
Jolly good show
>tfw no GKND
>spoiler
>and why did Regular Show have the only decent one?
Boy you know that's bullshit.
I kinda liked ben 10 omniverses for what it was desu
Big bad of the season was really chaos goat the whole time effectively fucking over an interesting character and world building
Book horse becomes god and it going to outlive everyone
Show runner's OC gets the torched "passed" to them
Fan favorites show up after years of literally nothing for them to be glorified easter eggs and don't even talk
A child gets imprisoned in a fate worse than death for all eternity
Pink gets knocked up
Gay horses
>Gay horses
Which ones?
Cunty purple solidified the show’s descent, so this is just icing on the shit sundae.
Oof
>Pink gets knocked up
Its also worth mentioning that she’s the only one shown with kids after the timeskip, and with the Weird Al guest VA character to boot
don't you tell me budget-starlight glimmer's an alicorn now
She was
how do we keep getting such terrible finales
(also how many of these unicode things work)
qaz.wtf
by this you mean starlight glimmer, not sunset shimmer right
Lyre and Bo Bo
Neither Sunset Shimmer nor Starlight Glimmer became alicorns
ah.
still, the whole Discord is Grogar was an ass-pull
you had 9 seasons don't tell me you didn't plan this out
It’s usually always because of management and lore. For whatever reason a lot of writers are ashamed of the fact that they’re writing children’s cartoons and work really hard to make their cartoon their magnum opus only to fall flat on their faces.
Tell me again what was wrong with this finale
>epic climax with high stakes
>all major characters get time to shine
>fun action scenes
>all loose ends tied up
>satisfying villain death
>fitting and emotional ending
What’s there not to like?
>nearly all the stakes and emotion were overwritten
>marble is still shown as infallible and dripper is still shown to be a selfish jerk cunt who should die
>we get an interesting plot of bill possessing stan that never comes to fruition
>What's there not to like?
>Mabelland
>Stan cop out
>all the episodes after Ford’s Return were only loosely related to the end game. Making the finale a little rushed.
>only the pines family and soos got to complete their character arcs.
also the whole scavenger hunt fell to pieces
have fun with your very own selim bradley
I'm not watching the video or going to that den of autism, what happened? How did it end?
...
I've heard a movie is in the works so i'm personally hoping for that as a proper end
>"They continued having adventures and the world continued to change as time went on."
When you don't take into account how incredibly nerfed Finn was and likely will continue to be, taking the backseat to the new OP lesbian couple and princesses saving Ooo.
The zodiac was never used. Hell, the zodiac in general; throughout both seasons you were teased with how certain characters were associated with a symbol and how there'd be some grand purpose to them (and it turns out all it means is everybody has to stand in a circle holding hands)
Who else here is waiting for when /mlp/ is destroyed and all the mlpfags are forced to /trash/ instead of Yea Forums
I think site staff might wait out to see what g5 does to the board.
Brave and the Bold still had one of the best finales ever like Mystery Inc and Big Picture Show.
Prove me wrong.
I can't. Because you're goddamn right!
JG never really got up his own ass, RS was the kind of series that could do anything and it make sense, going to space for a season was normal, having a character have an old 80s cliche lost brother was normal. Also the characters came out of the finale having made a sacrifice, you can't say the same for shit like Gravity Falls or Adventure Time.
This really disappointed me, by Season 6 all I cared about was their little meta story and then Ben fucked around too long shoving in stupid politics in a world where shit like that makes barley any sense, Ben once said their world/town had so much diversity that it was supposed to show less discrimination, but of course we get random racism messages, evil 50s sexism messages, etc. It was just too much, and added with the dry snark of the characters getting worse and worse, I was almost going to drop it.
So Big Picture Show, or Regular Show's ending?
This was airing on TV this morning in a big block segment edited together, I forgot how much Mabelland really fucking bothered me. 2 hour finale with 30 minutes of it being "please mabel im begging you, help us save the world, im so sorry, mabel please help us save the world we doomed and not you", the humor was fucking awful for that part too. The rest is just eh to good. The ending was retarded, there was no "sacrifice", there was just a short lived inconvenience and in the series fucking finale they still have the town default back to status quo as if they never knew those things existed, when one of the MC's main goals was to show everyone the truth.
Ford was kind of a prick and unlikeable.
>Mystery Inc
They get sent to a world where they are the highlights of everyone's lives while fucking over Daphne's sisters for no reason, it was so out of place and undeserved they literally said it and left town. I fucking hate when shit like that happens, all the dynamics and interactions we saw over the show just wiped away. It's like an all a dream thing but series wide.
"come along with me" is bad but this surpass everything.
Justice League was god tier good.
Scooby Doo mystery incorporated? Absolutely amazing.
Ed Edd and Eddy, can't leave out that this one managed the impossible and tied everything together.
Does Batman Beyond Return of the Joker count? Or do we have to use Epilogue because it came afterwards? Because Epilogue kind of sucked but ROTJ is one of the best batman movies.
Superman The Animated Series likewise had a really damn good finale with some real loss.
Brave and the Bold knocked it out of the park.
EXO Squad stuck the landing and remains a damn fine finale.
Beast Wars managed to conclude pretty much everything, even if their killing of Tigerhawk was kinda weak.
There's lots of great finales.
>, it was so out of place and undeserved
They literally killed a giant god thing and solved a mystery reaching back thousands of years that nobody believed, if it hadn't been for them then best case scenario everyone keeps getting turned crazy until someone fumbles into unlocking a godbeing to eat the universe.
I think they earned being praised.
Yes, for that, not for things they never did like Shaggy being the best cook and winning trophies and all that shit they never actually experienced.
Notice how most of those ended over half a decade ago? There’s definitely a difference between the veteran writers and the ones we have now.
I think that was more for the effect of none of them are in a universe that's truly "theirs" anymore.
It's out of place and alien to both the characters and the audience with only a few token similarities
>for that,
Well they couldn't for that, because if they could for that, then they were in the universe Birbthulu fucked up. They earned Shaggy the freedom to be a great chef, and something he would have done, by killing a literal god. Saying the praise is undeserved doesn't make sense, because the only reason they even got to the point where A Shaggy could do this was two seasons of some really bad shit going down.
I liked the build up and it had re right amount of action for a use your words show. White could've been more major but otherwise it was decent. Now adventure time on the otherhand...
You made the right decision.
If they can experience the reset then at least the core characters that mattered in their lives should have too to avoid this issue.
Stop Lying! It didn't have the best finales. If it did, you wouldn't be bitching about it!
>If they can experience the reset then at least the core characters that mattered in their lives should have too to avoid this issue.
They were dead. They would remember dying.
Build up doesn't mean shit if you can't stick the landing. And SU didn't stick the landing.
Nobody is bitching about the Regular Show finale
>otherwise it was decent
She was defeated with a snarky retort everyone loves because it was a callback to the pilot. Her blushing and returning color was fucking cringe inducing and I rarely use that term.
White lost the moment she took Steven's gem. It was that which confirmed Pink was gone forever which formed the cracks in her worldview. All the retort did was shatter it completely.
Probably the best possible ending we could've gotten (but if it was the ending, it should've been a hour long special)
your fancy deep wording doesnt change how badly this shit was executed
That was neither fancy nor deep, but considering you took it as such it doesn't speak well of your ability to objectively critique something.
>A child gets imprisoned in a fate worse than death for all eternity
Lauren didnt deserve her baby get abused this badly
your cracks in her worldview shit is the same thing all fans do to phrase things better than they are
That's how writing works dumb dumb, it's called subtext and almost every piece of media employs it. You sound very anti-intelligence in general so I can see why you'd be threatened by that. Grow up and read a book already.
Show runner's OC gets the torched "passed" to them
You mean Starlight Glimmer?
Didn't Lauren leave before Cozy Glow was created?
>You mean Starlight Glimmer?
No, I mean it's literally her OC, as in a character that only ever appeared in her Twitter profile is now a canon character for the final episode to literally be the new "Twilight"
Stop being an obnoxious faggot fangirl for once and pretending you dont see the issue unless you're autistic.
Wait, who? I don't think that's Glimglam and that sounds even worse then Poochie becoming an alicorn.
Meghan McCarthy
Look her up if you must, but just know they literally just used her actual Twitter OC for the final episode
It's not Glimmer, its literally the OC of the current Showrunner, as in what she used for her profile, they made her the new twi figure in the epilogue.
You faggots have an entire board for your one show and you still have to find ways to shoehorn it onto Yea Forums.
that was fanon from the start
This is a thread about general finales user.
No one show is taking up all the discussion
fuck you Trollhunters ending should be bumped to good tier
>Didn't Lauren leave before Cozy Glow was created?
I'm pretty sure he means the show itself
Was it?
Then again, the show was always kinda meh to me
How did it end?
MLP ended when Twilight became an Alicorn, why did people even bother watching it beyond that point?
Weirdmageddon should have been a movie. You cannot deny it would have been infinitely more entertaining and probably paced a fuckload better too.
otherwise the only good part of GF is the production values and the final scenes (which Hirsch had to cheat grunkle stan's amnesia to get to, which makes it feel a tiny bit unearned)
I respect him for not drawing it out another season even though Disney begged and demanded him to at least, he just needed at least one extra half hour
>"They continued having adventures and the world continued to change as time went on."
No goddamn it, this doesn't address the Cosmic Owl dream prophecy or who sent the agent to cause it. People were just glad to see it end because the moment they gave Finn his arm back everyone realized the show writers had no fuckin idea where to go anymore
>Still wish Mordecai had gotten with Margaret, she was best girl
I'm sure the writers wished they'd done that too, back in the second season or something just to get it out of the way. As it stands, the writers began to actively resent Mordecai because they wasted so much time on his on-off feelings for Margaret. They turned Mordecai into kind of a punching bag for the show, leading to him ultimately hooking up with a one night stand and becoming a miserable deadbeat dad. Everyone else got to be happy except Mordecai
Because rather than becoming way too popular to ever meet expectations again in future seasons, or burning themselves out super hard on a rough schedule, the show just kinda went and went til the writers decided to stop, and then they just ended it.
Because it did got better after that.
Because people wanted Mordecai to be happy but instead he just gets a pretty unsatisfying conclusion and never got to have a real arc as a character. They did all his character exploring in the early seasons and by the end he looks like he has just given up
I just can't see it as being the same without Faust, I'll believe you that maybe there is good stuff later on, but the first 4 seasons were just lightning in a bottle
Later seasons obviously has good and bad episodes but I think that the good ones overcome the bad ones. If you're intersted in some episodes maybe watch Pinkie's pride or the perfect pear.
One of the staff memnbers received such violent backlash for the unpleaseant finale that he got a nervous breakdown and escaped from the internet after trying to fish for pity and backpats from his followers.
Is the movie good? Not Equestria Girls, the real one
Kinda, like a 7/10. The songs are really good.
The movie was an overhyped piece of crap with a generic 90's movie script and ton of useless clutter and useless characters that relegated the show protagonists to a minimal role.
Some protagonists didn't even got lines because the new characters got all of the spotlight, which was also a problem the series suffered from since S06 until the final episode..
/mlp/ has been worked into the global rules. It'll stay up as a specified containment board like /vp/ and you fucking know it.
yes but /vp/ keeps getting new shit to talk about
And /mlp/ only got literal shit to talk about.
BAM! OHOHO!
My favorite moment was when they announced Sw/Sh had no national dex and /vp/ were panicking, because one of the board rules is basically never being allowed to imply even jokingly that you aren't actively trying to "catch em all" and then debating if showing interest in Sw/Sh should be a bannable offense since you can't "catch em all" in that game technically speaking
We all know damn well we aren't getting that. We'll get a skeletal attempt at that before one of the 32 songs hits home and Jenny undoes all the damage she inflicted on Earth.
Gumball finale was like something that came out from a creepypasta, and no one of the cringy ones.
Definitely a solid ending. Would have loved if it GKND came to fruition.
>he just needed at least one extra half hour
Hey, don't do that Mabelland crap and he has it.
Yea I love RS but the writers did seem to hate him by the end because "oh he's such an asshole with women" but he wasn't supposed to be, it just snowballed because they wanted to keep doing romance episodes and it required him to misstep, over time they were forced to point out how often they relied on that setup but it just made Mordecai seem worse. JG probably didn't realize until it happened.
Not that user, but Mordecai was cool and didn't deserve to be seen as just using women like a bunch of people and even the writers think by the end.
>the first 4 seasons were just lightning in a bottle
its my little pony
They could have done something really interesting with Mabelland but much like the 'gathering of the symbols' it smacks of having the idea conceptualized but not the resolution to it
It's obvious hirsch's plan with the destined symbols didn't end up going the direction he planned, partially due to wasting too much time on Dipper wanting to fuck Wendy
Reminder they-who-shall-not-be-named deserve this.
I'm still made the Cipher Wheel never amounted to anything. Aside from that and Mabel world, it was aight.
Yeah and somehow it managed to hold a bunch of otherwise normal people's interest in My Little Pony because it was actually well written and well animated. I must have listened to Winter Wrap Up dozens of times, that song just puts you in a great mood, most of the songs in first 4 seasons were like that.
He said there was never a plan for it to be a big thing and it just got too heavy in the fandom.
>base entire show on encouraging fans to follow breadcrumbs and cryptic details
>'wtf why are people coming up with some crazy conspiracy about what the symbolism means in this red-herring-packed show???'
He didn't seem surprised or curious why, just that it was always meant to be a tiny thing in the finale or something. If anyone has the interview or place he said it, please share because it has been years since it ended and I have forgotten.
Ed edd and eddy had a fucking fantastic one
Maybe for people who's IQ and shoe size are the same.
Mighty Max had a badass ending full of hope and win.
>>epic climax with high stakes
The problem with the stakes is Bill would still be confined since they never bothered to explain the shield surrounding the town or how to dissipate it.
So it's hard to get invested if the villain loses even if he wins
But what happened to moon princess
because that's power level faggotry, user
it makes no sense for her worldview to hinge on whether or not it's possible for pink's existence to be overwritten by a human, she already said that the other diamonds are flawed and pink is the most flawed. At worst pink being gone should have just made her sad because she secretly cared about her a little or something, but her "world view" is just that being flawless is the best and she's flawless
idk man, this doesn't sound all that bad. anons on Yea Forums usually shit on endings because it doesn't align with their autistic fanfic. It was a decent ride and truly shaped the internet for what its worth.
As I said elsewhere in the thread, it should have been a movie which told weirdmaggedon as a contained story concluding the entire series.
stan's amnesia needed to happen earlier so it could seem less rushed when he gets his memory back right before the end (even hirsch admitted they just had to cure it abruptly to ensure the ending played out as he originally wanted, where the kids can have their goodbyes with the real grunkle stan)
I really liked the way Bill is 'defeated' in concept (I particularly liked him invoking some last-second unholy spell-- maybe cashing in a cosmic favor with another demon?-- to save himself from total erasure), but I don't know why they'd have Grunkle Stan do it if Hirsch knew he needed Stan to have his memories back for the ending scene in less than half an hour
i don't care that PB saves the day but it doesn't jive with the constant foreshadowing and even forced cosmic owl prophecy dream saying eventually PB's kingdom would turn on her
I can't remember if they ever even address PB going into the Fire Kingdom and disabling their WMDs.
>cool as ice
Fucking doomfags I swear, at some point dudes like you have to realize that when everywhere you go and everything you see smells like shit it might be because you yourself are full of it. There's no winning with you, no way to please you, yes, the final was not your specific headcanon and it was not without its problems but it's far from deserving this fagotry you keep throwing at it for no clear reason, none of the things you mentioned were out of character save for the lack of children from the mane 6 a solif 8 out of 10 at the worst cases.
It starts right after the ending, Mordocai and Rigby go for a bag of ice and they accidentally end becoming young again with the price of that being their kids, as you can imagine things go nuts from that point onwards
What GF needed was one or two "22 Short Films about Gravity Falls" type episodes where they just dedicate some time to giving each town member a bit of dedicated depth. At the very least they could have had the "symbol associated" characters get more overlap and interaction with one another
t. Emotionally dependent on the series and in denial that it dipped in quality after S3
Does white horse and purple dragon get together? At the very least share a moment? If not, then fuck me.
Forgot to link
i like how my immediate impression of this page is one of those fan continuations full of real soul, like the Adult Calvin & Hobbes comics about his daughter or the continuation of that one mindbreak manga where the MC is redeemed and put onto a happy ending by her future daughter
i still don't see why people can't just agree on a specific earlier episode where the show became unsalvageable, and then treat the movie as the finale
The Boom comics were surprisingly great
Everytime the ending comes up and how Mordo ended up with delicious bat tits I always say they should have the balls to age everyone they knew, time speeds up in space, 5 minutes in the God of basketball episode was a month? two? By the time they came back everyone they knew should be old and with their own family/life. That makes Mordecai end scenes make more sense, he does paints about CJ and Margaret as a way of mourning the time he couldn't spend with them, and meeting bat tits meant he was ready to nove on.
But I guess they didn't wanted to shit on Muscleman, or you we can explain it as a last favor done by Pops I suppose
Absolutely NONE of the big questions or unresolved plots got any kind of resolution. It was a textbook example of "lol it's for little girls, so turn your brain off and enjoy it, doomfag!"
care to be specific?
Absolutely shook barneyfag is giving us time to mourn
>he does paints about CJ and Margaret as a way of mourning the time he couldn't spend with them, and meeting bat tits meant he was ready to nove on.
it wasn't so much showing that he had moved on as, demonstrating how little the writers cared about his 'arc' by that point and kinda resented how many episodes were wasted on his relationship issues
They really fucking aren't.
>because we all know why you made this thread.
I didn't. Horsefucker.
Because that's retarded.
Yeah the mini was very good, it really feels like "Regular Show ending extended edition", check it out when you can user you won't regret it
Not really. Spike moved on and there was an episode dedicated to him dating gabby now.
No, Spike and Rarara didn't end up becoming a couple.
In fact, none of them ended up becoming a couple with anyone else, so if you expected Beef Dragon becoming Embered or Smolderized, you will have a bad day.
>build his crush in season 1
>shows she does notice and care for him in later seasons
>specially brings him along in certain episodes
>went to a land of dragons despite purple pony's protest to make sure he's safe
>only broke free of the book's spell because of him
>nothing happens
Well fuck me sideways
You jest... right?
And then this was literally never brought up again.
the simpsons fanbase has been treating Behind the Laughter as the finale for almost 20 years. I'd also love an edit of the KOTH final season that makes it watchable directly after the season where the animation style switched
Speaking of KOTH, that ended on pretty good note too
youtube.com
Any foreshadowing that was laid out in the first 2 seasons or so was destined not to be followed up on or paid off as Faust moved further and further away from the frontlines of the show and by the end of S4 they'd clearly run out of leftover story ideas from when she was in charge
Woof. That was a trip.
It did have a good ending but you unfortunately have to sit through a number of really shitty seasons (and Lucky) to get to it.
Well dam... that was the only reason I kept peeking into the show, to see them get together. Thanks anyway user, I still have the fan art at least.
jim defeats gunmar, angor realized he was wrong and turned on morgana and they banished her to the shadow realm, the gnome and the baby rescued all the babies trapped in the other realm and a lot of them set off for a new hearthstone. Not a terrific ending I admit but considering what a lot of shows end with its pretty good.
>You jest... right?
Eh, you aren't wrong. But the later KOTH seasons weren't unwatchablely bad like zombie Simpsons
So I consider that a plus
Yeah, they used the memory eraser gun, if they really wanted to have stan recover his memory they could have added a single flashback with ford doing backups of their memories just in case or something like it, then he gets his memory back but doesnt know anything that happened in the weirdmaggedon
I was intentionally avoiding spoiling that she shows up, thanks for fucking it up I guess
see you after 3 days, user.
WHY? And according to this user nothing fucking happens? What was the point?
still had a better conclusion than either season of Stranger Things, at least Bill actually does some cosmic horror shit unlike the Mindflayer.
I demand a second movie in which an expy of Lauren Faust fucks the timeline in a manner that befits her original vision for the show.
I mean desu did you really think the show would outright show a cross-species relationship? This ain't Shrek 2, bro
G5 holds promise if the leaks are real, and based Faust finally got what she wanted to do in the first place with DC Superhero Girls.
What's the gist of G5, and is it enough to force the bronies to move on? Because even Homestuck die-hards gave up hope on anything good coming out of the series a while back.
And I do need to watch DC Superhero Girls, even if they don't have any /ss/parity analogues going on.
Well at least Discord and fluttershy got together.
Honestly the finale to Regular Show wasn’t that good to be honest, you could have made anybody cry in 2016 just by putting a Bowie song in your dumbass show, his body was still fucking warm when this premiered
You would think a show about accepting others and building connections WOULD do something like that. It didn't have to be white horse and purple dragon, it could have been anything two characters that don't share a species.
Picture please.
>not Gravity Falls
Gets put on a bus with sunbutt so twilight can take over
>Only decent one
Smells like DORKS!
>Gist
more adventure focused, more detailed art, more lore focused, less multicultural world
>will they move on?
Some wont no matter what, if the show is good we could see a renaissance like season 1 and 2, if it’s not we will see the fanbase slowly die into something niche
Bruh Fluttercord is canon as of a few episodes ago are canon
So does hoveringbash and chaos get together?
Eat shit faggots
>korra
>hobbled by its second season
It was hobbled by its absolute disaster of a finale in S1.
>learn airbending by getting fucking pissed off, the complete anti-thesis of how you're supposed to achieve it
>lol Amon wasn't really scarred after all, also both villains literally nuked themselves out of the show after driving away on a boat so the writers don't have to give them a real thought-out payoff
>korra gets the avatar state by contemplating suicide via throwing herself off a cliff, and reaching "her lowest point" to be "open to the greatest change" so Aang can just give Korra the Avatar State out of LITERAL PLOT PITY, for all the shit she was too busy going through to actually grow or earn any of this through merit
>also she's still with mako!!!
that in particular annoyed me, just like nancy going back to steve at the end of ST s1
That sounds fun. Here's hoping for some pony/dragon /ss/. Ooh, or maybe it could be a loli horse going after an adult dragon. That would be a mixup for sure.
>Picture please.
Don't have one at the moment but here's a picture of pinkie pie and her daughter.
What is he up to these days?
FFS drink bleach already
hey man you're pulling my interest, if they can make something even half as good as Faust's first two seasons I'll be impressed and may even start watching again
Hey Lee. Tough day, huh buddy?
>It turns 10 this year on November 8.
NOOOOOO I DON’T WANT TO BE OLD!
To this day I'm still miffed that they didn't have Korra's pro-bending matches become a guiding force in her airbending, which is what was implied to become the case in the second episode.
Hell, I still feel that pro-bending was a wasted concept in the end. They had it fleshed out with a full set of rules, but it became nothing more than a set-piece for a bigger fight scene.
Judging by the chicken, she gets with Weird Al's character? Cool, thought they made a great pair. Did the others have kids? I expect apple horse to have some, being a farmer and all.
I hate this new trend were people who don't give a shit about things are being put in charge of things that others give a huge shit about
when did creators stop caring as much as their fans?
No, they are all implied to be childless. Only Ponk gets a family. Subtext for Apple and Rainbow but nothing confirmed, stronger subtext for Shy and Discord.
Twi is confirmed to be immortal and will canonically see all of her friends die one by one.
Come on, that is literally the shy horse as a little horse
>immortal and will canonically see all of her friends die one by one.
Wait, I know I jumped off the ship a LONG time ago, but didn't the show runners said that wasn't gonna happen?
>Subtext for Apple and Rainbow but nothing confirmed
Well, at least they didn't OUTRIGHT deny the best yuri ship was a thing.
Shit I forgot to spoiler.
Only pinkie pie did. Here's a picture of everyone
kys
My little Pony is bever airing again. How does that make you feel lee?
That's just sad for some reason.
Lyra and Bon Bon got a gay wedding
I said BEST yuri ship, not A yuri ship.
On some level, I bet he’s sad it’s gone. You can’t hate something that much and not form some sort of attachment.
The point was shitting on the fans who expected ANYTHING to be resolved before the finale.
I mean, it's pretty obvious why it's sad, both in universe and metatextually
Pro Bending was a bad idea, not just because it clashes with the time period they are going for, but because it turns what is supposed to be a spiritual form of martial arts, into a really dumb sport where all three elements are treated as simple interchangeable projectiles to be flung wildly at your opponents.
It's just a show constantly marred by the creators having massive ambitions and neither the time, nor the budget, nor the writing chops to follow through on them.
Which leads to them doing irreversibly fucked up shit just to constantly up the stakes, like literally taking forty lashes to the Physical In-Universe Embodiment of the Entire Lore and wiping out all the previous spirits which korra never even got a chance to talk to. To this day I don't have a goddamn clue who seriously thought it was okay to just murder the spirits of the previous heroes onscreen with no fanfare whatsoever.
I agree with the reviews who say it feels like the writers actively hated the original show and cast, despite leaning so heavily on it for worldbuilding and callbacks
Amon will always be the biggest disappointment to me. They only killed him because the studio was so inconsistent about how many episodes they'd be able to have.
Why do you think the fanbase is so fucking pissed right now, user? Only can only take so many lies before snapping and demanding retribution.
Honestly, it feels like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders. Especially given all the shit you faggots have put me through, it feels really cathartic to be able to drink the tsunami of tears that has been unleashed on the site today.
Enjoy your year off buddy, we’ll see you for G5
>only decent one
>he doesn't know
I can bitch all i want about adventure time.
How i lost intrest halfway through
How the new episodes constantly lost me
How i fucking hated the existential garbo that permiated several episodes
How finn got fucked over in the finale
I can bitch and bitch till the cows come home
But im not gonna be a lying faggot and say that when the ending theme i had been listening to for so long came on in full and it showed everyones lives being lived as the torch gets passed anew, im not gonna lie and say that it didnt make me cry.
I thought Pinkie was the only one with bags cause she had a kid that was as rowdy as her, but wow, everybody's fucking old
And they're all going to die before Twilight and Spike.
I'm not in many mlp fan spaces anymore, they're blowing a gasket right now?
Take two seconds to look over at It’s Samurai Jack finale tier shitstorm.
Look at AJ's scarf.
Pinkie and Weird Al fuck
Fluttershy and Q are living together but not married and have no kids
Rarity and Spike got dropped like hot garbage a couple episodes before the finale
Twilight remains a permavirgin
there's 1 (one) line in the finale that mayyybe sorta implies that Applejack and Rainbow Dash are together, but otherwise they are lonely old hags
holy shit are you really the same fucking person this whole time. jesus christ. Yea Forums's worst shitposters from pre 2010 look like goddamn genius rusemasters next to the roster of autistic nobodies that haunt the site now
Well dam, it also looks like they're shitting on some guy named Jim. I'm guessing head writer?
Head writer for the current stuff. He got death threats, had a breakdown and privated his twitter. On some level I think he knows he botched this.
>Twi is confirmed to be immortal
even as someone who jumped off the wagon at alicorn twilight, i thought it was kinda obvious they would set her up to eventually inherit princess celestia's role
As a Wanderfag, The End of the Galaxy is NOT a good series finale.
It's basically a "status quo is God" ending and it's not even the show's fault because Disney fucked them over.
Jim Miller is a loser and easy to make fun of, but he's just the animation director. The real masterminds are the story editors, Josh Haber and Nicole Dubuc.
>death threats,
Never a good thing, sorry to hear that
>had a breakdown
Oh... dam
>and privated his twitter.
Pretty much everyone's final call
>On some level I think he knows he botched this.
Yeah, much as I want white horse and PD to be together, it doesn't matter in the end. Twi living past her friends despite the very foundation of the show was them being together? No deal.
>The real masterminds are the story editors, Josh Haber and Nicole Dubuc.
The plot thickens.
I can't stand how fucking shit the boom comics are for RS and how much the writing either fucks with the characters or is just bad.
SJ's is still the worst in this decade. Genndy's lack of foresight about Jack's time fuckery and the Ashi powercreep get worse over time. Fight me.
A lot of this rage feels like overreaction (even with the finale's flaws), likely from the same few autists obsessed w/ Beeg Jeem and headcannons. Genuine sadness also seems to play a part. Kind of want to wait to discuss this until after the "official" airing and there are cooler heads. And English audio.
Samurai Jack’s was fucked not because of how bad it got, but how good it got before how bad it got. It was on a fast track for best of the decade.
the samurai jack ending was at least an ending.
I always figured since the early seasons, that the final blow would play out the way it did, i mean if Jack ever found a way back he would logically pop out seconds later from Aku's perspective, and finish him off, and that's what he does. it just doesn't feel as earned because they gave up on coming up with a good way to finally let him get back to the past. They could have at least had Ashi do some low-level time travel ability first just for her to slowly realize "Wait, I have all of Aku's powers, which includes sending people through time!"
Having her come to the past and then die when aku's future ceases to exist was interesting too, i just wish her romance had been given more development so we as the audience could feel jack's loss more strongly
Weird Al canonically had sex with Pinkie Pie, ejaculated into her horsepussy and took responsibility.
I always thought it was blown out of proportion. Ashi could have and should have worked, I think it needed a few more episodes.
Agreed, much like the last ep of FIM S4, AND the last ep of GF AND the last ep of every Korra season, western shows keep getting fucked by the lack of firm planning for x number of episodes. with anime it's like, you have this many episodes, work with it, if it does good bluray numbers then you can have x number more episodes, and it's typically set in stone how many eps they get each season
whereas western shows it seems completely random how many episodes or seasons you might get to finish your story and it can abruptly get cut down to y or z number of eps which ends up not being enough time to pay off proper foreshadowing or give villains their arcs.
the Discord finale of FIM was amazing for that reason, everything was set up, properly paced out and explored, and then resolved without a massive jumbled rush of expository crap.
That, too. I just know that I had watched the entire season with friends before then and was able to iron out bad parts of the season due to the experiences of those hang-outs. When that finale aired, though, we all felt the energy and hype bleed out of the room. I guess it felt more sudden to me than it really was.
She definitely did work until the big reveal. Someone on equal standing with Jack who had her own prerogative to journey for Aku's demise? That sounds great. The drama-creator for a minute before becoming the joke-answer to Jack's prayers? Really unsatisfying.
Time for you freaks to fucking die
>western vs eastern animation
Come on, man. Don't even act like anime hasn't generated worse finales than the ones mentioned thus far.
imagine attaching yourself to a character for years only to get cucked at the end of it all by Weird Al
i didn't say anime didn't have pacing issues anyway but when that happens they can't usually hide behind the excuse of not having enough episodes to properly tell the whole story-- they know ahead of time the standard amount of episodes any show will have and they typically pace around that firm number
whereas western shows, over and over and over, have massively disappointing payoffs due to abrupt cancelations, budget cuts, or having the amount of episodes needed to finish the story get cut down, forcing plot compression like the end of FIM S4 where they legit have an entire movie's worth of plots and musical numbers crammed uncomfortably into a single 22 minute episode because half the season suddenly needed to be compressed to rush to alicorn twilight
Y-yeah imagine that haha
The point isn’t that west good east bad in terms of creatives, the point is that the suits in the east give the creatives a chance to live and die by their own terms, wereas here it’s a fucking struggle.
Or maybe it's just Barney-tier garbage that Hasbro needs to put out to make a quick buck. Simple as that.
also the payoff to the Portal Guardian was fucking gay
all the excitement people had about him and the final unsealed portal, just thrown out the window
Just let us play this one out Lee, a show only ends once.
can you stop replying to me? i'm not part of your weird little back and forth with that dude, i already dealt with his bullshit on Yea Forums bro.
It’s one guy, he’s been doing it for years. That guy on Yea Forums is him too.
Holy fucking based.
Toei would like to have a word with you. But seriously, I get what you both mean about the creator being fully in charge of their products, good and bad in Anime, but you can't act like there's an absolute rule here. Enter the Florpus exists as a proper pseudo-finale for Zim, created primarily by his creator, despite the executives doing everything they could to kill it in the mid-aughts. Western animation certainly does have a different atmosphere, but just adopting the "it's just going to get ruined by suits" attitude while watching it is just critically self-destructive.
It's a great season finale so it works well enough, coming from someone eternally butthurt that there was no S3.
Also the status quo got buttfucked when Dominator refused being friends with Wander.
my only point was that western animation studios need to stop flipflopping on how many episodes the creators can have to tell the story. Set it in stone or stop acting surprised when fandoms implode because you abruptly forced the writers to cram half a season of payoff into one or two finale episodes.
it keeps happening, and people keep being disappointed. it should not be anywhere near as common as it is for people to wish a show would "just end already" because it's either been trapped in creative limbo for years (Samurai Jack) or has just continued on in a sort of zombie state for way too long and needs a dose of closure or some indication shit is Going Somewhere.
Your BS wishes will never happen so suck it faggot
Bro I have no idea what your deal is
I can't say I really understand your shitposting gimmick at all, aside from you having a lot of random confusing screenshots with no comprehensible context
Hey lee, we know you've got autism but at least try to stick to the subject this once.
>western animation studios need to stop flipflopping on how many episodes the creators can have to tell the story.
you act as if anime doesn't do that stuff? or is it much noticeable on cartoons because there's so much anime going on?
I can't say I'm surprised that you're acting like a dumbass given how you're worshipping one of the most retarded shows on air
In anime it’s an anomaly, in cartoons it’s the standard.
Pretty good analysis, however anime isn't immune to things like sudden cancelation and budget cuts. One immediate example that comes to mind is the original run of Inuyasha, which ended on a very unsatifactory cliffhanger due to budget cuts and cancellation. They came back years later for the final season to wrap it up, but it took a lot of effort to get that done.
If we changed the topic to dogfucking, I'm sure Lee would be up for it.
Not even the kind of moe autism MLP fans used to have, just advanced autism
>defending these freaks
I'd really love to force a gallon of Scope down your throat.
Reality is honestly weirder for me.
My mom and one of her best friends actually went to the same high school as weird al but only knew him through his performances on the Doctor Demento show. They had called on the show and arranged to meet him, setting Al up with my mom’s friend until said friend’s own mom said ‘no’ and didn’t want her daughter seeing younger men. Stranger still is that when my mom and dad, only a few years ago got to meet Al back stage he actually remembered my mom and her friend from that time. Weird al had almost been a family friend of mine. That’s just... whoa.
But not like anyone will believe this.
The hunter x hunter series has been left in a loft of cliffhangers too.
the show is ending, it will soon be made irrelevant for a long while. you should take a break for once, there's not a better time for it.
You'd love to, but the sad thing is that you can't... Lee, I hope you get to know love one day.
I do user, artists are humans after all, they're bound to have mortal aquaintances after all.
>awful
please tell me you aren't serious
>which ended on a very unsatisfactory cliffhanger
Inuyasha is a bad example because the original manga's ending was also extremely unsatisfying anyway (they never catch Naraku), and the author had a notorious habit of letting her stories go on and on and on and on way past the point they should have ended. Ranma 1/2 and Inuyasha endings were both pretty shit.
Shounens are designed to continue on indefinitely, not really the sort of shows I was referring to (I was thinking more of shows that are only given the standard 1cour or 2cour with the expectation to at least wrap up the main story of the season in x number of episodes.
Obviously cancelations and lack of budget still happen but knowing how many episodes they have to tell the story must at least help to some degree
unlike say, korra s1 where s2 began production midway through s1, and they had no clue how many episodes they would have for either season or any seasons beyond that. Along with Nick constantly fluctuating how much support or budget or episode count they would have access to
Why aren’t you like this for any other show on the planet?
yeah, I guess shounens are a bad example but I know exactly what you mean, there are thousand of series out there that without any resemblance of endings or proper conclusions, I'm glad that MLP at least got to have a proper ending instead of having something like game of thrones.
I think it’s because there’s others who do it for other shows.
Just imagine, on Yea Forums there’s someone who loses their shit over any and all game of thrones content.
Barney was one of the most reviled shows on the planet in the 90s despite its small group of fans arguing it's just a normal kids' show with nothing particularly bad in it.
Basically, if you transported the hatred for MLP on Yea Forums to 25 years earlier and removed the internet so they had to take that hatred into real life, you'd get Barney Bashing. Everyone did it back then. Might as well continue the tradition.
youtube.com
So he's just shitting on something he has not seen for innertia? Damn, I'm starting to feel sad about lee.
You're asking for logic behind the actions of someone who spends every waking moment trawling random obscure forums, exclusively for screenshots of any post, no matter the tone or context, which compares the two as similar.
>Just imagine, on Yea Forums there’s someone who loses their shit over any and all game of thrones content.
I mean at least you've got some angles to work with there as a shitposter, lots of dropped storylines and plotholes, or arguments about book vs show
this dude's shitposting is not to prove anything to anybody, it's just to validate his existence by seeing the posts appear after he pushes Submit
Oh fuck.
I haven't seen it myself but from all the spoilers I failed to avoid it seems like the end is in fact "the end". Everything is done, no more adventures with these characters.
Part of me wouldn't be surprised if some of the things were done out of spite, such as:
Two of the most waifued characters presumably married and having kids/
Establishing an absolute end so other creators can't build upon the story beyond that point with those characters.
sealing away on the series favorite villains To be honest I don't think there was anyway they could have pulled this off without some issue.
The apparent asspull with the main villain of the last season
What was wrong with the big picture show?
Jappleack is the best thing to come out of FIM and nobody wants to admit it
>didn't the show runners said that wasn't gonna happen?
The one who has repeatedly been proven to lie through her teeth straight to everyone.
>Jappleack
I think it's because people don't like HotDiggedyDemon anymore, but yeah, everything with Jappleack was legitimately based.
No, it fucking isn't, its doomfags sperging about anything that's not S1/S2. The finale was fucking fine and better than anyone expected, way better than Adventure Time ever did.
>people start discussing horse show for once
>conversation instantly devolves into near-physical levels of retardation and autism
Like pottery
Blame barneyfag, everyone else is civil
>Absolutely NONE of the big questions or unresolved plots got any kind of resolution. It was a textbook example of "lol it's for little girls, so turn your brain off and enjoy it, doomfag!"
Stop fucking lying you doomer shit
>Yeah, an offhand Q&A twitter is a confirmation.
Not
Based copeposter
For once, this isn't even Barneyfags fault, but you doomerfags wanting to bring your sperging rant of all things not S1/S2. Go back to the containment that is /mlp/ and please don't your embarrassment here at Yea Forums.
I'll agree with this.
Adventure Time's television ending finished off the immediate conflict that they didn't have time to expand on like they wanted to, added a bigger conflict to give it a more finale feel, and had a feel good ending with everyone Finn's helped coming together to save him, then after that scenes showing you they're still living their lives and in the super far future the spirit of "Adventure" still lives on. As an ending to a series that big, it serves as a decent send off.
It was undeniably rushed but I think people here give it way more flak than deserved.
>being so emotionally dependent you can’t see the quality drop
No, it isn't. Shounen series especially have been well known to do this fact with series like Naruto and Bleach.
If you think long running shonen is the standard you’ve just revealed how little you know.
Do those really count when they're adaptive works? What is talking about is how a show is intrinsically planned, but usually if an anime isn't focusing on the story it's because they're making sure they don't run out of content form the series.
>Being so emotionally cynical dependent you can't see the quality at all
Regardless of their lackluster endings, the 2010's shows like MLP:FiM, Adventure Time, Steven Universe, SvtFoE and Gravity Falls renewed a standard for worldbuilding and overarching storylines - "muh lore" - in cartoons.
Just look at all the new shows following in their wake into a new decade like Amphibia, Infinity Train, She-Ra and a bunch more in the pipeline. Supposedly the G5 of MLP is going to be more serial and adventure based than the still very episodic FiM.
Not a thing hahaha cope
The movie is butchered to fit dvd. They cut some build up, so it feels rushed. And they cut the ending climax, so it feels anti-climatic. The main characters were supposed to amass an army on their way to south, then the ending would've been battle of zeppelin fleets warring over the main capital. Instead they rush to south to gather small ragtag group, when they had their own standing armies at the beginning of the movie. The streets were supposed to be lowly populated during the airship battle, but now they're just empty for no reason. And the main villain is supposed to be fearsome for first having a massive army, and second for summoning an hurricane to completely trash the fleets, but since there is no massive battle, it serves no purpose and the villain feels weak. And the journey feels pointless.
No u, because I didn't bring the discussion here to sperg and attract Barneyfag like you fags have.
What the fuck? Is there a way to get the theatrical release?
Not during off years, and it's not like there won't be a new season.
Wouldn't not showing interest be bannable, since not getting the newest immediately means you cannot capture all the pokemon that exists?
Still the best cartoon of the decade with the best ending.
Lets go through this again.
The big bad is Rian Johnson tier aversion of expectations, killing the whole build up done to the last season.
The McGuffing is just a DBZ style power up.
The solution to the problem is horrible "I know that character" fan pandering.
The villains had several episodes to build up sympathy and explain themselves. They then end up imprisoned into stone by the heroes, and by an character who had before commented how overly cruel method it is. It doesn't end there, the villains portray the emotions during their death throes you learned to sympathize with. The scene is overall fucked up.
Theres an episode that shows the young characters as adults, since the show is coming to it's end and you wouldn't otherwise see them as adults. The last episode is a time skip episode that shows them as adults anyway.
None of the main characters started families and are too old to ever start one. Except one, who married and fucked a guest character, thats just Weird Al.
They had the gull to put in lesbian wedding, that everyone already knew as a lesbian couple, but the show had a running joke of them just being "Best Friends". They killed that joke for nothing.
If you want the most simple, succinct and objective overview of the show and its seasons
>s1 and s2: classic, laid the groundwork, good memories
>s3: stumbled. Too much meddling and writers unsteady after faust left
>s4: Series shakily starting to get back on its feet again
>s5+6+7: the best horse seasons. Absolutely perfect
>season 8: slight drop in quality. Back down to around season 4 quality.
>season 9: Mostly boring, but there's been about 3 or 4 11/10 episodes (like the one the voice actresses wrote)
EQG is shit and the movie was pretty much bland except for them all having cute chubby cheeks. The christmas special was nice.
>s5+6+7: the best horse seasons. Absolutely perfect
Not sure I would personally agree with s5+6 being perfect. A little too much of trying to shoehorn Glim as part of the main cast, I thought she was better when they gave her episodes with her own group. I would agree s7 is pretty good, mostly on account of the Perfect Pear.
Maybe I'm biased because I never had a problem with Glimmer. I mean I can see that the writing isn't the absolute best around her but I don't go all foaming at the mouth insane like many people do.
If anything I thought having redeemed characters that actually stick around and don't just disappear for years on end afterwards between appearances was neat. Plus she was essentially the vehicle for Trixie to become a more reoccuring character in the show. And their episodes together were great.
>>s4: Series shakily starting to get back on its feet again
>>s5+6+7: the best horse seasons. Absolutely perfect
Shut the fuck up hasdrone. Those seasons are shit.
You mean the same trixie whose redemption was retconned in S6?
Cool, now can Yea Forums stop acting like babies about a decade old rule?
The irony of GR 15 is that if it had never been implemented nobody would give a shit by now. The controversy would have died down, and the horse show would just be another thread on Yea Forums.
But having gone through with making the rule and creating the board, you HAVE to keep it around now, because the second it goes down people will spam horses everywhere purely on principle, even non fans will do it to just to shitpost out of spite.
Fucking YIKES
Autistic lilyorchard drones. Go fellate your shitty youtube reviewer somewhere else.
>redemption was retconned in S6?
Are you saying Trixie being snarky was a retcon? It's not like she became a villain again. Moron.
Literally rent free boogieman. I have no idea what that is, what I do know is the show dipped after S3 and only got worse.
>S3, twilight forgives her and trixie agrees to leave and not enslave people.
>S6, twilight completely distrusts her, and was apparently right (because at this point she's a mary sue going three seasons now) since Trixie admits to returning to sabotage starlight's friendship.
Stop defending trash.
>the show dipped after season 3
Spoken like a true person who has never even seen the show since season 3. Season 3 was ITSELF the dip. And the subsequent seasons picked themselves back up again. You just never actually liked the show in the first place.
Yeah, I saw your autistic ranking, hence, YIKES
The hatred for her was and probably still is disproportionately intense and admittedly I bought into that a bit myself. I always felt her early episodes were too self centered. They were mostly about her and just her where as an RD episode would be about her but also about how AJ might feel and react to her actions. The idea of a redeemed character sticking around was a good idea, they just went in on the idea a little too hard at the start.
Shit was supposed to be cancelled after S3, but the fatfucks kept buying so much horse shit the suits decided to keep it going. Smart move on their part.
Also don't forget all the times Jack wasted an opportunity going back for saving some random dude that was going to be erased from the timeline anyways.
They could easily make Jack destroy Aku in the future and the past and keep Jack's waifu alive with "Aku can never be truly destroyed, the part of Aku that's inside her keeps her still existing in this New timeline" and "because you still exist and you came from the other timeline, that means the other timeline still exists parallel to ours, because time magic"
There, Jack can have the girl and all the sacrifices he made in the future timeline weren't in vain.
>still can't discuss the biggest cartoon of the 2010's on the Yea Forums board for comics and cartoons, not even in a valid comparison between contemporary shows
Eat shit Barneyfag, get good taste faggot
I always find it hilarious to see other sites or news channels reporting on the big bad Yea Forums and thinking back to the bogeyman of the internet being brought to its knees by a show for little girls.
>still seething this hard
Barney brought basically adults and parents to THEIR knees in the 90s. Are you going to start defending that as well?
Go back to sleep.
You weren’t there, man.
To be fair, every other community of the fandom looks at /mlp/ as being either filled with perverts who only lewd the characters, or obsessed haters who hate everything past S2
The director of the final seasons just quit Twitter (again) yesterday after the leaks as a reaction to criticism and the whole rest of the fandom blames "those guys on Yea Forums".
>almost 10 years later
I can't find a reaction image expressing just how laughably stupid and cucked mods are.
I don't think it's completely unreasonable, mods are based in telling these manchildren to get their shit off here.
Shouldn't you be looking for stealth posts?
Then why are you still here lee?
>mods are based in telling these manchildren to get their shit off here
You're posting on fucking Yea Forums you hypocrite.
As opposed to all the other manchildren on here? On this board for cartoons and comics made for manchildren? On a site made for manchildren?
>As opposed to all the other manchildren on here?
Even amongst those who you could claim fit your label, there are still some who fit the category too well to the point where they're unfit for society.
On fucking Yea Forums? Where /r9k/ exists?
Legitimately Mabel fucked everything
>She caused this shit because she doesn't want to grown-up
>Mabel land
>If their friends don't want to stay with her she would replace them like she did with Dipper
>Everyone in gravity falls suffer for this shit
Not a bad finale but Mabel really ruins the show if you analize everything
Don't forget... her episode was ultimately pointless in universe.
Why did bill even bother with the prison. Going to all that effort implied that it was important for Mabel to be locked away like that. But it wasn't. Why not just add her to the throne?
It's also a blessing in a way.
nothing he's just being a faggot
Just goes to show how the moderators are brainless idiots incapable of rational thinking.
Not today user. Today, we cry.
>WAAAAH PLEASE LET ME DISCUSS MY INCONSEQUENTIAL TODDLER'S SHOW EVEN AFTER WE ALL ANNOYED EVERYONE WITH IT FOR YEARS
You dug your grave, live in it.
Did you ever had any doubt? I remember when they banned a guy doing an unrelated DC storytime because a single pic of the comic had a reference to MLP
Your tears are delicious, can't believe you're still so butthurt
Look I get it, I really do. 2010/11 was a nightmare, one of the great spams of the site. It’s been almost a decade. It’s already dead. At this point giving it the Voldemort treatment just gives it more power than it really has.
Either way we win.
Giving them ANY respite would lead to historical revisionism and shifting goal posts over their shit being accepted.
>Regular Show any better than AT even if it suffered from similar problems
Oh no, my secret club will allow... Ponies!
>a few trolls spam pony
>therefore anyone who likes pony is a spamming troll
Good. Everyone knows the problem back in 2010/11 wasn't the people posting ponies (although there were a few incorrigible love and friendship idiots who posted that shit unironically), but the retards counterposting and spamming threads with guro every single time a pony was posted.
Mods couldn't do anything because ban evading and just invented GR15 as an easy way to solve their problem.
You know, it's unfortunate that shit-eating braindead retards like you will still defend your retarded obsession every chance you get. Just know that everyone still hates your fucking guts.
But the only negative comments I ever get is from you.
It's heartening to see that even the recent Amphibia vs Infinity Train tribalism can't hold a candle to your particular brand of extreme autism Lee-kun.
How does Lee fit into the League of Super Autists?
For me it’s:
1. Famicom
2. WITCHFAG
3. Barneyfag
4. Copyright user
5. Tilebro
I'm not familiar with WITCHFAG.
This year there was an user who constantly shilled W.I.T.C.H in essentially every thread.
I don't know Famicom, but the sheer dedication of Lee places him in top spot for me.
Barneyfag is certainly the Batman of autists. The only reason Famicom and WITCHFAG get higher up for me is the depth of their autism WHEN they post. Lee tends to stick to 3-5 canned phrases.
I agree but learn English
So glad everybody seems to always be in agreement that this is the top of the mountain.
>EXO Squad stuck the landing and remains a damn fine finale.
What about that cliffhanger in the last few minutes?
thats what makes it realistic
Awful movie? The movie was GODLIKE. It blows all the other video game movies out of the water. And yet... barely anyone knows it exists. Truly a crime against humanity.
Don't you fucking dare diss Season 2. It was fantastic. And the finale was just as good as the S1 finale.
I'd put XV-kun up in the top 3 myself.
>>epic climax with high stakes
Yes, because "Twin Peaks for Kids" needs an "epic climax" with kaiju battles and a giant robots.
>all major characters get time to shine
That's a lie.
>fun action scenes
Unfitting action scenes.
>all loose ends tied up
Besides the Author's identity, the show didn't have any loose ends to tie.
>satisfying villain death
Okay, that's fair. It was the one good scene that triangle ever got. It's still diminished by him being a triangle, though.
>fitting and emotional ending
Emotional manipulation and lack of bitter-sweetness, despite building up to it. It didn't feel earned.
>Pro Bending was a bad idea, not just because it clashes with the time period they are going for...
The 1920s? Pro Boxing was big for several decades by then. Radio just boosted it further.
>...but because it turns what is supposed to be a spiritual form of martial arts, into a really dumb sport where all three elements are treated as simple interchangeable projectiles to be flung wildly at your opponents.
I'd say that works with the cultural changes that are supposed to have taken place in Republic City that mirror real history; the rise of popular as opposed to elite culture. You can easily argue this is corrupting the culture by being shallow, sensational, and overly pragmatic as opposed to transcendent (ignoring one of the elements in the cycle simply because there aren't any airbenders around), and this definitely should be an argument that the show should have addressed, but I don't see what the problem with the idea of Pro Bending is.
You could do a thing where Pro Bending is *generally* shallow and stupid, but Korra as an *individual* could find something spiritual and transcendent in it. Real pro sports are commercial in purpose but some of the athletes will speak poetically about their experience actually playing the sport.
Pro Bending could have worked.
One of the last shows on CN that never went to shit and was able to end it on a movie.
It's really long past-due to ditch that panic-button rule. That show's already over, isn't it?
And where did it even come from anyway? Before the half-assed explanation in the finale, it seemed more like a boast of sorts instead of this... Anti-Bill Care Bears Stare Circle of Death.
>playing a modern sonic game for the first time
The whole Mabelland as a concept is absolutely retarded. Bill isn't the kind of guy who would let Mabel live in a paradise. He would kill her on the spot or turn her into a newt. That's always in constant pain.
>It didn't feel earned.
Gravity Falls was in general bad about earning dramatic pay-offs and just doing them anyway.
>>base entire show on encouraging fans to follow breadcrumbs and cryptic details
Let's face it, it was just a gimmick. The only mystery the show ever had was the Author's identity. Everything else was made up on the spot, even McGucket's backstory. There wasn't a single line of dialogue in Season 1 that would imply he had memory loss.
I don't even understand why they thought hybrid children were a good idea. It was already established with Margaret's parents that when one species fucks another species, the child is going to be one OR the other, not an unholy mix of both.
>Dipper has to choose between staying with his twin sister or go studying abroad with his aging uncle he never knew he had who shares his interest
>"Waaaaah we're suppose to be BFF Siblings"
>"OK Mabel let me just throw away this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to just be ignored by you when you find a new boy to crush on!"
What a fucking terrible ending.
also mods are jokes
Yeah, I see the Batgirl is as much of a bitch as CJ.
Copyright user? Someone giving unnecessary warnings your shitty fanfiction can get you sued?
I guess they thought it would be a bad moral? "Screw your regular life, stay in the place you've spent your vacation in."
But if that vacation spot is giving you brighter prospects for the future, you SHOULD stay there.
Dipper & Mabel had no established connection to their city home. They don't seem to care about that place, the people they knew there, hell, even their parents! So why SHOULD they go back there? Their family, their friends, their potential future... It was all there in Gravity Falls. Alex Hirsch fucked up big time by not giving D&M any reason to go back to their previous home.
It might have worked OK if they really were the "mystery twins" always side-by-side. In that case Mabel could complain that after all that Dipper wants to leave her behind.
But in reality Mabel only rarely seemed to give a shit about whatever Dipper was doing and gets many favors from him without giving any in return. It makes her tearful objections seem like pathetic whining...that Dipper falls over backwards to satisfy!
No the user who earnestly tried to argue that copyright should be abolished and is stifling to the creative process. He went on rants equating art to math, it was a shitstorm.
>Decent finales
This decade?
>Moonbeam City
>Hilda*
>Lego Elves: Secrets of Elvendale
>To be fair, every other community of the fandom looks at /mlp/ as being either filled with perverts who only lewd the characters
It IS a containment board, after all, whenever I checked it it was like, half cancerous fetish generals.
>the retards counterposting and spamming threads with guro every single time a pony was posted
Confirmed oldfag, that really was the problem in 2010 before the cancer was really inside the threads. Took another year for GR15 though. The generals here were just too much hassle for the local mods I guess.
At least she can't transform into a hurricane. And really, Mordecai needs a bitch to keep from fucking himself. He's his own worst enemy.
Good user
Yeah... I never really thought about that. Besides the flashback shown during the stupid trial, did these two ever bring up their actual home or school friends at all?
Why thank you
I didn't like how it ended for Jonny and Plank honestly.
If include autism from other boards, we might as well include ACfag
Bunnicula has an okay finale, but needed at least another season to patch things up.
Mina learns Bunnicula is a vampire, but we never learn why she was chosen to be his new owner.
Slightly related to the dominant show in this thread, but Dan' Vs.actually did have a good finale.
Would have been nice to have another season exploring him more or a concluding movie, but exploring how he and Chris first met, as well as an episode where he's not been presently wronged and on a path of vengeance, he's just relaxing and talking with his friends, was a really nice way to end things.
Needed more Elise fanservice.
Adventure time was awesome
really underrated show
Muscle man didnt cheat on Starla moron
