I get what he’s saying about cartoons always having had some kind of political or moral message to them, but I think he’s missing the point that what many people are really griping about is that they’re dissatisfied seeing cartoons push the “wrong” political message, not for putting messages in the first place. Which is funny because he himself brings up very early on two examples of supposed “trans representation” in The Simpson’s and Futurama that were “doing it wrong,” and doesn’t recognize that those are still political messages, just ones he happens to disagree with.
