Tobey was the only one that managed to complete a whole trilogy. This is not without a reason.

>a reason
Newness and lack of competition
>>Holland Spider-Man isn't even canceled
Have you seen the third one? I really wish he hadnt
Sony and Marvel weren't even trying to do trilogies. Trilogies are a thing of the past, now it's all about cinematic universes that just keep going forever and churn out spinoffs.
They're still using Holland. And I'd say it's still pretty likely a deal will get worked out eventually, people writing it off after less than two days, Gunn took a year.
If only SM3 wasn't such a shitty movie
Iron Man, Thor, Cap, Avengers, guardians, and more to come
And Holland is the only one to play Spidey in 5 movies straight
We seriously propping up spider-man 3? What's next, the matrix sequels?
Yeah the other two couldn't get their 3rd movie greenlit.
I honestly see people hyped for Matrix 4 so yes, we do live in the worst timeline
I hope a deal gets made. I don't want another reboot and I want to see Holland interact with the other mcu characters and films.
Considering the state of the third movie, this is more coincidence than anything else.
Me too. Eventually whoever fucked it up (I'd guess Alan Horn) will get distracted by some other shiny thing and they can fix it. Unless the problem actually is someone at Sony, in which case it's probably actually fucked.
Goddamn I miss the raised web. That added texture to the costume really brought it to life.
If all these people were horrible choices for ironing out a deal why the hell were they the ones making the deals?
Because Hollywood? Competent executives are basically unicorns. That's why only the mcu has suceeded, even fucking star wars is a train wreck and that's the same company. Feige is unironically the best at what he does in the industry. We'll never find out who the problem was but I'd guess I came down to someone saying "why aren't we making money on your Spiderman movies Kevin?" The breakdown happened right after the movie crossed a billion after all.
It baffles me that people are celebrating Spider-Man “returning” to Sony when
a. The movies have been made by Sony the whole time, Feige is just a producer on them, along with Amy Fucking Pascal. Seriously, don’t people notice how different they feel from actual Marvel Studios movies, and how they compensate for that with masturbatory references to other MCU elements on a level you don’t see in other MCU films? Hey look it’s Chitauri tech! Hey look, Peter’s playing with an Ultron head! This is an MCU movie, can’t you tell?
And
b. Sony is notorious for ruining the franchise outright if you let them have free reign. The 2 Spider-Man movies people like in Raimi’s trilogy are the ones he got to have more say in, and then they meddled so hard in the third one that they ruined what Raimi was trying to do. Similarly, Because Into the Spider-Verse became relatively successful, the rumors surrounding the sequel seem to be indicating the execs are taking a keened interest in it, and are currently in the process of ruining it.
Yeah, in this case I don't want to support either side at all. But other people gotta company shill, I guess.
They literally announced Thor 4
What's wrong with SM3?
Making another movie doesn't negate something being a trilogy. Ragnarok tied off a lot of the plot threads and themes for Thor. Plus Thor 4 looks to be passing the mantle of Thor
It's a bad movie that people have memed themselves into liking, like the prequel trilogy and Donald Trump
I'm not on Disney's side but with them Spidey can be good and interact with everyone else in the mcu. If Disney offered a shit deal they need to make a better one or the past five years of Holland will be wasted. Like Tony saving Pete was a big deal to him so if he's just gone that whole thread feels fucking pointless.
It is honestly bad for the interwoven long-form storytelling of the shared universe if one character who was the protege of one of the key heroes, who provided some of the impetus for that hero to try to save/change the world despite the risks, to immediately disappear off the face of the Earth.
Would be a fucking shitty trainwreck.
Nothing the constant whining was unwarranted even in 2007.
Tobey sucked. Get over it nostalgia fags.
