The first few seasons hold up. It was good back when they would improv, but now it's grown sterile and focuses too much on the kids. I'll say it's not zombie levels of bad, more like a frankenstein's monster of various cliche plot points and zingers stitched together.

The show is fantastic other than Tina. She's insufferable, entitled, selfish, and all of her jokes are either cringey, the same unfunny ones, or she makes that annoying sound. I get the idea is that she is supposed to be the puberty monster but the constant bratty attitude to Bob, who is constantly doing shit for her even to his own detriment, is infuriating.

Honestly Bob as a character is perfectly balanced. He's not a bumbling dad nor is he a hardass. He's the straight man of the family who balances running a restaurant and surviving his own family's eccentricities.

combine that with Loren Bouchard, basically the Jim Henson of animated sitcoms (inasmuch as he makes the same humorous tone fit every possible age group and demographic because it's just genuinely great and universally enjoyed except a lot of people don't really get it) and it'd be amazing if this WASN'T good

NINE seasons worth of shit to forget about. This is one of those shows that isn't bad, but isn't good enough to fondly remember, so I wouldn't expect great threads for this now, or ever. Really, the only reason anyone even gives a shit about this show is because it airs on Fox, if it was some Netflix original it wouldn't have made it past season 2, if that. My point being that people who don't watch many cartoons quite enjoy Bob's Burgers, so to them it stands out, especially when next to the shit sandwich of overproduced McFarlane garbage.

If anything, I like how the family genuinely loves each one another unlike Family Guy. An example is how Linda doesn't berate her kid's interests, she encourages and shows a lot of fun enthusiasm for it (even Bob's pretty passive rather than outright abrasive like most.) The kids are willing to help each other out and stop things when it goes to far.

The show even subverts expectations like how Teddie and the kids are caught outside of the restaurant and trying to lie about still being at home. Some episodes are a little infuriating like how Jimmy Pesto gets away with cheating on a game show, but it just goes to show that the main characters don't always win.
Basically it's pretty comfy and down to earth.

I think even at it's worst Bob's Burgers is still better than a lot of cartoons on today. The only episodes I really strongly dislike are Sacred Couch and last year's Christmas episode which wasn't even about Christmas.

I’m happy to see that after Bob’s Burgers’s shocking success, FOX seems to have grown more confident in picking up new animated sitcoms that DON’T have Seth MacFarlane’s involvement as of late. We now have not one, but three new shows coming within the next 1-2 years:

I think why it works better than others like family guy do is because it has standards for characters that its not willing to drop. For example the family is set as one full of love and stability bob and linda are committed to one another and to their kids, and so that won't be dropped in some episode and have the characters go OOC just for the sake of a funny joke.
Might be wrong in the comparison to family guy though, I haven't seen much of it.

Pro-tiki Con-tiki wasn't as frustrating to me because Bob being a control freak with his own vision wrt the restaurant has been established before, plus you know the restaurant can't be a huge success (until maybe the end of the series) so you know where the plot is going. Sacred Couch was just stupid because it's a fucking couch and there were actual legitimate reasons to get rid of it. They could've even just gotten a new couch that looks exactly like the old one. I just dislike Better off Sled because it's not a Christmas episode, otherwise it's fine for a generic winter episode.

As someone who had a super obsessive "friend" like Millie all through out my elementary school years, I can guarantee I would never want to fuck her.

i don't know if im the only one who noticed this, or if im just crazy, but havent a lot of the latest episodes had a weirdly sjw-ish strong womyn character?
I remember the limosine driver woman in the valentine's day episode (which was about tina and another girl ditching jimmy junior?) and the black hobbit woman living in a forest in the school trip episode. the sledding christmas episode also had a similar strong girl-power type of thing going on IIRC.

This show dropped off HARD after the fifth season, which is a surprise given how much the show's staff seems to be mostly the same since it started. I should try watchin more of the eighth season, and the ninth season in general, but I worry the show's even worse now.
