Now that that's out of the way, Easy Mode would just be Golden Girl and Briana in place any two non-crossover heroes. You can take an additional Hero spot if you go villain, and choose Chicken Divine. Because Ma'm Aries is overplayed.

yeah I was thinking along those lines too, but I don't think anyone would bother re-drawing that entire page in the same layouts and everything. Would've settled even for someone to just shop their hair color of the girl, and a domino mask + hat on the guy. Especially since using Ubers art style would've made it more "gritty" compared to most /coc/ stuff, which would've made it more ironically hilarious.

OK, so, do we have a consensus on how Colettes powers work? All we have, as far as I know, is that the gauntlets give her powers, and she gets super strength / invulnerability as a "passive" ability, because she doesn't know how to *control* the gauntlets. The proper application would be something to do with really powerful magnetic fields.
I've been thinking about that, and had these ideas:
- gauntlets have a self-renewing power source which is practically infinite, but they are limited in how much power they can output. Zero-point energy? Miniature black hole?
- it has batteries inside to store power. these stores aren't directly used as output, they are used to scale the generator, to run at a higher output mode.
- at higher output, the generator cannot self-sustain itself, the higher the output, the worse the efficiency.
Basically, the more charge the gauntlets still have, the more power they can pump into whatever it is that makes Colette have superpowers.
In practical terms this means she has a "base" power level which is constant and can be held indefinitely. She can pull off feats way beyond this level - but the bigger the feat, the less time it can be sustained for. So she can duke it out like She-Hulk but only for a half hour or so. But if it's just lifting cars around, she can do that all day long.

For how the strength/invulnerability works, the gauntlet has a magnetic generator that warps gravity in a short radius, enabling feats of great strength and resistance. The strength of this automatically increases as strain is put on it, but not instantly - it has a minimal delay. Just enough so the wearer feels the physical strain.
In practical terms, this means that Colette is permanently enclosed in a thin force field. Normally this field has a very limited distance - less than a millimetre. This would mean that it protects her skin but only has limited protection for clothes. Think of it like Byrne-era Superman, or 90s Superboy, whose powers protected his skin-tight suit, but not the cape/jacket.
I'd like this because I consider Colette primarily a brawler, and this would protect her from getting indecent even in situations that would shred clothing (getting caught in an explosion etc). It would also allow scenes like this pic and it also explains her wardrobe of choice, if she wears other stuff in battle it inevitably gets damaged.

As for the origin of the gauntlets... one idea I thought of was being remnants of an experimental environmental protection armour. It was meant to be a full suit, but only the gauntlets got finished. The gauntlets are oversized because it would have been a fairly big suit, not some streamlined armour. This cuts into the idea of Colette having a full armour at one point, pic related.
Why was it made...? It was meant to be used for space travel and for traversing other planets. Meant to be used by NASA and/or the military. Most parts of the suit (arms, legs, torso) would have been self-powered, hence why both gauntlets can generate power. The "force field" is either a secondary protection behind what would've been a clunky metal armour, or the force that would've kept the thing together, and moving.. It didn't get finished simply because it was too expensive.
Over the years it was in storage, only getting bare minimum maintenance, which was limited to changing the batteries / capacitors inside to prevent corrosion. This had the side effect that, due to modern capacitors being more efficient, the gauntlets can now store significantly more power in advance, allowing for basically everyday usage.
Who designed it though? And who kept it in storage, running maintenance? That's open for future interpretation.
Of course, Colette doesn't know *any* of this... she sent in one of those tickets from a vintage comic, just to see what would happen, and then the gauntlets showed up in the mail.

So anything she touches with them becomes zero-g for when she's touching it, but keeps all the momentum after she's no longer touching it.
The forcefield is also something I think has been established for a while now, though I guess that's also Ladybug's thing too.
The boots also showed up on another character at some point and it turns out the gauntlets have some sort of control panel in them for other parts of the armor.

Ladybug only has the forcefield and the jetpack, and whatever voice-activated console is in her helmet.
Colette always started out as super strong, and the question of *how* the gauntlets do that, is how the forcefield thing was made as an explanation. I think. The gist of it is that she has super strength / invulnerability, and many years later, she eventually learns how to manipulate the power source of the gauntlets, allowing her to do more stuff.
Enlarging her force field would be one.
Also in my headcanon she is by far one of the strongest bruisers when at full power. But she can only use that for a very short time. However since sh can one-hit KOs extremely strong enemies, and she doesn't have to use her max power *constantly*, it makes her look far stronger than the kind of strength she could sustain indefinitely.

Psu's argument is he doesn't own Yea Forumslette, no-one does, she's public domain. So everyone can use her. But same way how everyone can use Sherlock Holmes but you can't make new "BBC's Sherlock" stories without BBC permission, Psu has one specific personal variant of Colette he does regard as his own. The one in that image isn't it, by the way- as far as I recall the easy way to distinguish "Public Domain Colette" from "Psudeofolio Colette" is the latter's cybernetics have a more rusted, imperfect, post-apocalyptic look.

What I wanted to see for a long time was something actually showing off Yea Forumsllector pulling off a heist.
Like if there could be some larger thing or short comic, we see her in civilian guise casing out the museum or wherever she's planning to steal the macguffin from and taking note of the security. She grabs a few key guards or other people and plants post-hypnotic suggestions that they'll look the other way or otherwise help her in response to some trigger.
Then we get a short sequence of her putting her plan into motion and get out undetected, only for her to suddenly get attacked by Yea Forumsnrad, who knew she was coming, on her way out. The thing could end on a dramatic final view of them facing each other down.

There's no misrepresentation, though. She got super defensive when asked about it. Just look at your own wording, even. "Public Domain Colette", "Psudeofolio Colette"? It's just Colette. Character made in-group by anonymous posters in the comic and cartoons board on 4cha. There is a distinction here, though. Psu started to claim that she was going to make a comic in the near future featuring a character that she assures us is not called Colette, but so what if she looks like that one character? She's drawn her the most, so why can't I call the character my own?. The only resentment is on her part, user. People weren't dick-riding her as much, and she got a tiny bit uncomfortable with the Yea Forums conection to Collette, so a name change severs that connection.

I was there for the twitter threads. She literally was going on and on about how if anyone has any claim to ownership, it was her because no one even draws her anymore, and she's drawn her the most. Other old Yea Forums artists even replied, not fully understanding what the whole thing was about, but automatically agreeing with her. But even I'm not putting that on them, since they've all moved on from Yea Forums and Yea Forums in general. Something your girl Psu clearly has issues with.
What are you doing on /coc/ defending someone that's not here, on this particular subject with such fervor, though? I don't like dropping a subject when it seems to me to be clearly wrong. If you'd opened with "yes Psu said that on a later tumblr post but first she ranted this on twitter", I'd not have insisted as much.
That said, "yeah, I like this character, and I'm using it in a comic. She's from Yea Forums's Yea Forums, btw" is what she does end up saying on the tumblr post, so even if she was being stupid about it before, she ended up on a reasonable, to me, conclusion - Colette is public domain, everyone can use Colette and make their own versions of the character, but those own versions aren't necessarily public domain themselves, such as Psu's own GUNMETAL version. If that doesn't seem reasonable enough to you, dunno, man.
