Nah, Spider Gwen IS interesting. Seeing the different alt takes on Marvel characters was fun, especially Daredevil as a minor villain. Putting her in 616 misses a huge part of the original appeal of her character, but the OG story was a fun read and part of why the character took off the way she did. -She’s a Stacy. Stacy’s are always popular even in the real world.

She has her fair share of issues, and part of her gimmick is dealing with the freedom to choose how to use her powers now that she's free.

I think that Jessica Drew's problem is that for years, she had no real connection to Spider-Man or his mythos at all. She just happened to have a similar name and eyes on her costume.

That's because Jessica was solely created to patent the Spider-Woman name before a rival publisher could and thus compete with Spider-Man's popularity. As you said, she has no real relation to Peter at all. In fact she's almost more of a Captain Marvel character at this point given her long standing friendship with Carol Danvers

Possibly. She REALLY warmed up to Miles after he came back from his 1 year break. Implied she kept a stream of communication with him during that grieving period. But at the time Miles was dating Ultimate Kate Bishop, and his friend Ganke expressed interest in Gwen (Both did admit that Ultimate Jessica Drew and by extension Peter Parker did have a really nice ass). The Ultimate line ended like partway through the Kate Bishop arc so all of that became Moot, but had 1610 continued Ultimate Gwen probably would have become a more serious potential love interest rather than just building groundwork for it.

Also there was “All-Different Avengers” in which Tom Brevoort advertised the comic to have “illicit romance” between Moles Morales and Kamala Kobra. Don’t forget that Miles made a deal with the devil to bring Kamala back from the dead, for the price of another girl’s life.
The development between Miles and Kamala has been steady, and actually believable compared to the shitfest that was Bendis’ fanfiction.
Meanwhile, in Spider Gwen’s universe, the writers briefly tried to push her with Harry before her comic ended, and now we see that she’s slowly building a friendly relationship with 616 Peter, which has potential to be something more.
