Duck Dodgers got cancelled for this
"doll"
It was really good, I miss it.
What an underrated marvel.
>The episode where Daffy runs for city councilmen so he can abuse it's powers.
Rewatching this gave me a lot of Hannah Barbera reboot vibes. You'd think turning a show into something completely different would be a horrible idea, but the reboot does a pretty good job at being its own thing while also respecting the source material.
In this case it was basically Seinfeld but with a Looney Tunes twist to it.
Should've lasted longer if you ask me.
Tell that to SJ Lola and she'll get fiesty for a bit
Tell that to TLTS Lola and she'll stab you
One great show leading to another great show I fail to see the issue here.
Now the only real issue here is how they'll handle Lola from now on. Hoping she's still the same ditzy maniac from the show.
Duck Dodgers was supposed to end after the second season.
The only thing i disliked was turning porky into a punching bag, and i blame duck dodgers for that.
Take it with a grain of salt, but the announcement picture for Space Jam 2 has her look from the previous movie. However, not only would the Looney Tunes Show style look out of place assuming that everyone else is drawn in the regular LT style, but I'm pretty sure that these are just stock pictures of the characters photoshopped to look like they were drawn on the lockers.
I prefer the characterization of her from the Looney Tunes Show or the comics more than Space Jam.
It wasn't though, it was cancelled due to Loonatics, similar to how TLTS didn't get a season 3 in favor of Wabbit/New Looney Tunes
Were they just not allowed to actually use Bugs and Daffy for this?
I think it was a director decision to have the character's descendants to better show it was the future.
Cyberpunk Looney Tunes wasn't as successful as 1950s atomicpunk Looney tunes
Do you think Lola will return in the upcoming shorts?
Why doesn't anyone outside of Yea Forums appreciate the new Lola? It's so frustrating sometimes hearing brainlets always argue that the old one is better because she's "sexy and empowered"
Favorite musical portion? youtu.be
Maybe
I'm betting Penelope for the girl being used often
Because nu-Lola is a fucking ditz and walking blonde stereotype. Just because you’re mad that Space Jam Lola reminds you of all the girls way out of your league in high school doesn’t make her a bad character. TLTS Lola is a completely Flanderized, uronically even more offensive regression of a character than “sexy Lola” ever was, and how anyone can prefer new to old is beyond me.
sad that it ended with that lackluster DC homage episode, also season 2 had less roadrunner cartoons and songs which didn't help, best episode is the Taz Sylvester and Tweety Bird episode
They can't think beyond "new=bad" and "It isn't as fappable"
Porky was a punching bag for way longer than Dodgers. Once Bugs started becoming more popular, they couldn't find anything for Porky to do other than just suffer.
Space Jam is a sacred cow for nostalgia. Anything that threatens it in any sort of way is bad.
Joe Alaskey didn't die for this.
Because Lola is a fucking muh strong women counterpart and walking blonde stereotype. Just because you’re mad that nu-Lola doesnt reminds you of all the girls way out of your league in high school doesn’t make her a bad character. SJ Lola is a completely Flanderized, uronically even more offensive character than “silly Lola” ever was, and how anyone can prefer old to new is beyond me.
Space Jam Lola didn't even have a character to be bad. She was the most generic 90s grrrl power thing possible.
Porky is one of those weird characters who is still around for how popular he got early on more then the character itself
No, because John K got those shorts cancelled with his autistic death threats. Remember?
You're right. She's not a bad character. In fact, she's not a character at all. She's a walking prop thought up by suits to sell girl power to the female demographic and you clearly fell for it.
>Flanderized
>Using TV Tropes terms
Classic summer
>also season 2 had less roadrunner cartoons and songs which didn't help
They actually cut out the Roadrunner shorts entirely for season 2 and what few songs they had, they weren't as memorable or as catchy as season 1's. I also wasn't really that much of a fan of the art style change they did, I preferred the darker colors and messier looking backgrounds.
But I also feel like that despite all that, the show's writing got better, it had a decent amount of good episodes
weird, i have no memories of the show being like the top, but i think i preffer the bottom one anyways.
how? theres like a 7 year gap between the series
I actually don't mind the S1 art style but I think it was a mistake to use it. Moving the Tunes to a sitcom format was already going to get a lot of pushback from people. Changing how they looked at the same time probably just put people off of giving it a chance that much more.
This will remain the funnest thing ive ever seen
youtube.com
>Sexy and empowered.
Technically new lola has a larger rack and ass. I think the real issue is that her voice actor sucks and she is completely retarded as a character.
We are talking about that Wabbit-New looney tunes show version of Lola, right? The humor in that is so bad I think its written by machine learning.
That video gave me AIDS
I'd plow LTS Lola like a field.
No, LTS Lola. Other than a similar appearance they're completely different. Wabbit Lola was voiced by the Space Jam actress but using a different voice. LTS Lola was voiced by Kristen Wiig and she actually did a fantastic job. She's also way funnier.
Its weird, the movie apparently wowed everyone back in the day but looking back it was terrible and shallow. The thing also made ridiculous bank. Its like thinking back to a party you got blackout drunk at and realizing you only had a diet coke that tasted odd.
I quote this show to death this day! Best show in a long time, desu. I was a little jaded when they brought in the new art style for season two, but the writing was still top notch so i was fine. Shame Bugs/Daffy's VA died though; buddy had skill.
The best slice of life cartoon ever
It gave me gonorrhea :(
Mang, Space Jam Lola was sexy and all, but they could've replaced her with a live action no-name actress and nothing would change other than maybe losing a generation of furries. Seriously, she had less moments where she actually acted like a cartoon than half the live action cast.
TLTS Lola actually acted like a "Looney Tunes" character, but they still managed to retain the sex appeal. Arguably she got better after she mellowed out a bit, though.
We'd be seeing those long awaited shorts by now had it not been for John K and his sperging
Did he? I thought Bergman was still alive.
SJ lola is kind of weird for a personality.
Its a very generic 90s girl personality in that she is focused only on a sport, she's intolerant to womanizing, her secondary reason for existing is proving Bugs isn't a poof. Really, there are tons of characters lkke that.
The thing is that all those characters are gone. Think of one, you can't remember them. SJ Lola is like Highlander in that she is the survivor or the grrl power athlete archtype. Soon, when characters like this come again we will call them "Lolas."
John K would not be a creep using 90s nostalgia and his one accomplishment in life to molest underaged girls if he didn't have the -tism.
The way this show handled being episodic while having a consistent non-episodic canon was really fucking good. It meant tons of cartoon shenanigans while still having relationships form and break up, and status quo changing from time to time. God damn I love this show.
They're going to be on the HBO streaming service which is set to launch next year. I doubt John K had anything to do with the delay.
>Get redesigned to not be a sex icon
>become lewded anyway
what.
He allegedly sent some spergy death threats to the people working on the shorts. The fiasco was discussed in some past threads specifically about the shorts.
And no sources have ever been provided while sources for its release have been
Why do you bring this up in every LT thread? You're intentionally trying to derail them
Weren't there sources provided in one of the threads? I remember some anons mentioning email screenshots.
>Weren't there sources provided in one of the threads
Some user said there was a Reddit link and never provided said link and no one could find it
>Reddit
Nothing ever stays up on Reddit. Did anyone save the posts at least? I'm genuinely curious.
It's a female rabbit
It's impossible not to lewd
You are defeating the purpose of her entire rework.
>Was in 6th grade when LTS was released, grew up watching classic LT on vhs
>Enjoyed it solely because it was like the originals but in a modern setting
>my dad sees me watching LTS and decides he wants to watch it with me
>after a few minutes he's like "why is Bugs purple?"
>I'm colorblind and can't differentiate lighter shaded colors from each other, so of course my 11 year old brain thinks "This old man is crazy, gotta prove him wrong"
>Our peak father-son bonding moment was arguing about a cartoon character's fur color
Pretty sure the purpose was to make her funny, which they succeeded in doing. Even LTS Lola acts kind of lewd on a few occasions so I doubt they were afraid of her sex appeal.
But it was a joke I got no idea what Space Jam was thinking when it did that sexy shit.
There's archive sites that save posts even when they're deleted by mods. The guy's full of shit.
Lola's going to be a big problem for the movie.
The movie is going to be heavily driven by the boys from merchandising, and they're going to want to cater to nostalgia heavily. Gotta have classic Lola!
But classic Lola was utterly shit, and anyone sitting down and watching a sequel and seeing her done the "classic" way would walk away unsatisfied.
Simplest approach would be to have her be in the movie so little that people don't notice she's unfunny shit, but I don't think they'd get away with that either.
Basically, she's already guaranteeing that the movie will be bad. They'll have to try to keep her in the forefront and make her "the old Lola," but when people see her going around being the old Lola and not being funny, after years and years of grrrl power characters that removed what little novelty Lola had, people are not going to be happy.
An underrated show that people shat on for looking different than the classicsdespite the fact that the Looney Tunes characters varied wildly in design between animators, even in the golden age.
Why was Wabbit so UGLY? It had the same designer as TLTS, which looked great!
I could have sworn that some shred of evidence of John K's autismfit got posted.
I don't think they'd be able to get away with having her in the film for too short of a time. She's the only new addition to the Looney Tunes cast with any major staying power and her debut was in Space Jam. They'll probably try to expand on her character or something.
Now that I think about it though, it's kind of weird that no one knew who she was in Space Jam. Are there potentially millions of cartoon characters in the WB world that the Looney Tunes crew never seen before?
I'd love to see that
It just doesn't seem likely that he's responsible. There's a few good reasons why it's taking so long.
1. One guy making threats isn't going to cancel a major project. The police would be called, but they're not going to postpone a Looney Tunes revival because John K got angry
2. "Coming Soon" is such a vague term that doesn't have a maximum length. If it's coming in 2020 which seems to be the case, WB could easily claim that counts as soon
3. They're making 200 of these episodes and had around 30 done when the animation festival was happening. Considering they're only 1-7 minutes long, they'll likely want a whole bunch finished so they can post them in larger batches
As would I.
Well I doubt anyone on here would have noticed if it was certain that nothing happened and John L is entirely innocent.
*John K
>I don't think they'd be able to get away with having her in the film for too short of a time.
Right. They have to put her in the movie, and prominently.
And they can't have her be the good TLTS version. People would get angry, they want classic Lola!
Except... they don't. They only think they do. People who watched Space Jam grew up, and if the saw a new movie with Lola written the way she was in the old movie, they would react badly, knowing they're looking at shit and having a hard time admitting that the character was shit in Space Jam too.
She's easily the biggest problem Space Jam 2 faces.
>People who watched Space Jam grew up, and if the saw a new movie with Lola written the way she was in the old movie, they would react badly, knowing they're looking at shit and having a hard time admitting that the character was shit in Space Jam too.
"Waaaaah! The ruined Lola!"
Fuck, I can hear it now.
So people wouldnt sexualize it. TLTS had too many appealing humans and animals.
>tfw no qt workaholic gf
Tina >>> Lola
I can't forgive what this show did to Bugs. This is easily his most boring incarnation yet.
Yea Forums keeps forgetting that people who worked at WB were pretty blunt about how Lola came to be, going by notes on model sheets and little interviews for things like the making of Space Jam book. No, it wasn't to prove that Bugs was straight.
It was the mid-90s, and Warner Brothers was about to release the first big animated movie they'd made since Disney had blown all the competition out of the water with Lion King. There was shitloads of pressure on the animation department to make a hit. How could it fail, though? A few years earlier, Nike had hit on the idea of selling their shoes with advertisements starring Michael Jordon... and Bugs Bunny. The ads had been a hit, there was no way the movie wouldn't be.
But Warner Brothers needed something more. It was the mid-90s... mini-malls were everywhere. And in every mini-mall, there was a WB Studio Store. There was a massive one in times square. They sold MERCHANDISE in general, but oh, the goose laying golden eggs was the clothing line. So many shitty shirts. Shirts of Taz fishing, for dads. Shirts of Tweety going "I hate Mondays" or something. And the hip hop shirts, the aisles and aisles of shirts showing the Looney Tunes wearing way cooler clothes than are ever worn by people who buy Looney Tunes shirts.
Small problem: the entire cast of Looney Tunes was almost entirely male. They had Granny and some no-name characters, and that was about it. WB couldn't keep fooling people into thinking Tweety might be a girl FOREVER. Something had to be done.
That something was Lola.
Lola Bunny, the character very very literally created to be something easily put on "cool" t-shirts and sold to people browsing around WB stores.
Do you have the "Don't Call Me Doll" shirt in an extra extra extra large?
>No, it wasn't to prove that Bugs was straight.
That's good, because he's not.
Daffy X Lola
I envy the writers of Space Jam 2, but only because they're getting paid well. The job itself has to be hell.
Tina X Bugs
People want to fuck things they like. Nothing will ever stop this from being the case
If only revival against Thundercats Roars.
>being a crossdresser makes you gay
Metin Seven (Dutch illustrator) come after Buzz playboi! name.
Fact: The characters in Loonatics Unleashed were designed by Christian Tremblay and Yvon Tremblay, who created and designed SWAT Kats show for Hanna-Barbera production 1994.
I didn't like the germanic ubermench undertones in the show but besides that it was good.
>Probably the Yea Forums character who takes crossdressing the most seriously
>Kisses men and enjoys it
>Innuendos all over towards men
Sorry to break it to you but he's gay as fuck
Its a van diagram!
Because... I don't actually know! The TLS was developed by the guy that became exec producer on Wabbit, same production korean team. Things like producers and directors change from the two series' and its obvious the budget was slashed and quartered, perhaps that was the big difference.
>abuse it's powers.
Couldn't have said it better than this
