Basically there was a Japan only browser game detailing the events leading to the Keyblade War. Then they brought it worldwide with the mobile app, except KHUX ends like 20 or so story events before the actual war (which is like 500 or something events into the game where you explore Disney filler worlds) and reveals that the events of UX are actually the player reliving the memories of the events of the browser game. The plot continues from there involving the Dandelions and now it seems like they're adding in those last 20 missions they chose to skip over.

Anyone else lose interest in the story of Kingdom Hearts? The writing is TOO bad to the point it's just uninteresting and just BAD to sit through. I don't like this story and I largely do not like the number of characters. That and I feel that on top of the characters being lousy the cast is BLOATED because Nomura doesn't believe in death (shut up it's expected that villains die because no duh villains, but there are too many good guys surviving for the most part just to please fantards).

Kingdom Hearts 3 did not destroy Sora because Sora has NEVER been a good character like Luke. Sora is such a piece of trash protagonist. By now I officially see Sora as the flaw of the franchise...well not the only one, but given Sora is the face of the series he's a very BAD element in the whole thing.
I don't care if Nomura is untalented or whatever, Sora is an abysmal character. Because he's too stupid I just don't care for him or want to play as him because his sub-plot is not interesting. A character who is isolated and detached from the actual conflict and also is mentally stupid is not amusing. He's garbage.
And worse? He's constantly bailed out of his own screw ups by other characters, most notably Riku who babysits Sora. I really wish Riku died in Kingdom Hearts 3 and stayed dead, I want to see just how far Sora can go without his Riku Babysitter. But yeah, the bottom line is Sora is a horrid character. I honestly do not fault anyone who hates Sora or doesn't care about him. When the central protagonist is so bad? No wonder people want Riku and Roxas to be the new main leads.

I used to think it was interesting that after YEARS of being abandoned in the Dark Realm she officially resented Mickey Mouse and she had every reason to hate the rat that left her to rot for an extended period of time. while UE4 is extremely well documented and a solid engine over all. Engine switches arent as easy as popping in the assets and code into a new engine. The Luminous Engine is vastly different to unreal and I wouldn't be shocked if a lot of assets were unusable and things like the physics and combat needed heavy work to bring back up to speed. Also the Frozen team was horrible. I heard the Toy Box and Monstropolis team was the easiest because the Liaison from Pixar was a Kingdom Hearts fan herself. That's why outside of SanFransokyo both Pixar worlds had the most interaction with the main plot with Xehanort and Vanitas with Xehanort figuring out more about the bond between hearts through the toys and Vanitas getting power from the screams of children.

I really liked KH3, but the game design was just very odd. They painstakingly created these faithful huge open worlds but left nothing to do in them. Even Twilight Town was criminally small and underused The Frozen world has nothing to do with the film. Sora too often gets tossed to the side in the stories and the pacing is all sorts of off.

The problem with the game is that important story updates happen maybe once every 3 months (the rest of the time you're sent to Agrabah) so you forget important stuff.
The plot is:
Everyone belongs to factions which each are in competition collecting light/lux by defeating heartless. The tensions rise until the keyblade war happens and almost everyone is killed. The people who survive it recreate the world and people in data and basically turn back time to before the war for them. At the moment, the keyblade war is on the verge of happening again and a select few have been chose to go into hiding to avoid it but there's now a traitor who killed one of the chosen.
It's a kinda vague who is data and who is real (not sure if this is a plot point or me failing to follow the story)

You know that grey cat thing that was in the Final World in 3? That's a dream eater created by the Master of Masters to watch over all the keybladers in the unions, they're all tied to their keybladers heart so if the keyblader falls to darkness the Chirithy becomes a nightmare as well. Partway through the game a random Chirithy starts handing out power bangles that allow you to collect darkness and turn it into lux, but that was horseshit and it actually just gave you darkness. The Chirithy is eventually revealed to be the player character's who let darkness into his heart when Ephemer was sent to the data world by Ava and he thought he was stood up, the Chirithy that's been following you through the game is either a second one that was given to you as part of the MoM's plan or someone else's that's been watching you for them.

Eh FFXV's story felt too all over the place and I wasn't particularly invested with much of them. Like they treat Noctis GF we see for all of like two scenes with her and I felt nothing whenever she showed up. The combat wasn't great either.

I don't think KH3 is "rushed" by any means, rather just bad design choices all over the place. Doesn't matter how much time you spend on a game if the idea behind it isn't that great.
That being said, I've learned to know better than to buy into the 7 (or 13 if you're that kinda guy) year long hype for KH3 so the disappointment wasn't really there. It's still a fun game though, I'm not gonna pretend that I wasn't playing it with a goofy smile on my face the whole way through.

Critical Mode "fixed" the difficulty issue by making you choose between either unreasonably easy (Proud Mode and under) or unreasonably hard (Critical Mode). Enemy mobs for example are larger than ever before because of how the game is built and are doable in Proud Mode, but in Critical Mode you get assfucked within milliseconds because everything deals massive damage. There's no inbetween so your choices are game journalist-tier easy difficulty (still convinced that this is why the game got high ratings) or masochistic torture. Like the guy before said, KH3 can't be fixed by updates or DLC because the gameplay is just fundamentally flawed. It's still hard to call it a bad or mediocre game for me because these aren't the type of flaws that make a game less playable, just more "turn-your-brain-off"-ish. There wasn't a single fight in KH3 where I felt as engaged as the average Organization fight in KH2 or even fucking Vanitas in BBS, the game where nearly every fight sucked.

The problem is Nomura has stated he reads all the fan theory and then purposely tries to do the opposite, even if it means throwing foreshadowing out the window if they guess what's going to happen. This means instead of laying out good but potentially obvious groundwork for his big reveals, he just pulls pointless twists out of thin air to try to subvert your expectations and gain shock value. But unfortunately that means if you ever replay it knowing what's coming, it makes the plot essentially incoherant because most plot threads slam into a brick wall everytime there's a hamfisted "twist" meant to keep fans guessing on their first playthrough.
