It was good, but I wouldn't say it's the greatest. It had a lot of potential to be something more. I do admit it had many cool sequences in the Nomicon and the ninja transformation though.

I guess I should give it a watch then, eventually. I ignored too many good cartoons for no reason. I only recently finished PZPTH and caught up with RotTMNT.

like a hour, turns out that combo's can be done by any attack including the slide which does little to no damage basically so you get 3 enemies in a line and just slide till you get a combo of 100-250.

If they just didn't made Howard such a unlikeable asshole it could have been watchable, but the show wanted us to sympathize with a jerk.
They wanted to make a conflict like the one between Peter Parker, Spider-Man and Mary Jane, where PP is Randy, Ninja is Spidey and Howard should be MJ.
But it doesn't work if Howard is a jerk just because. We're supposed to think Howard fells sad and alienated by Randy when he turn into the Ninja, but it's not this. Randy put Howard always above his duties, he always is here for Howard and always love to help him. And Howard want just to monopolize Randy's life when he think to have somekind of owning over Randy's personal life and the Ninja's activities.
But if Howard was just an asshole it could have been forgivable, i like characters who are assholes just because (Homelander and Billy Butcher). But the show and writing pretend to make us like and support Howard when he is just a jerk dude cool bro!!11!1!!11! without something that makes you want to love to hate him. He is just a banal generic dude bro that the writers think is what teenagers acts like

It aired at an odd part of the decade when it had to compete with many other shows. Eventually Star was the last girl standing with other series either cancelled or shoved into timeslots when next to nobody would watch them. It doesn't help that it was on DisneyXD, the far less popular channel of the network.

I both loved and hated this episode for being a one episode thing.
There should have been more build up and had it be a special.
