That's gotta hurt!

That's gotta hurt!

That cover looks nice. How badly does the interior art disappoint?

Yea Forums is dead

I enjoyed this a lot more than Jodorowshy's other comics. But I've only read The Incal and Before the Incal, I don't know how The Technopriests or After the Incal compares.

This is a European comic you retarded fucking mutt.

well for starters the technopriests has WAAAAY worse art, and secondly the intrigue is a lot harder to follow

Awright newfag, I'm gonna tell you a story...

Actually I'm not; I'm just gonna post an actually-random page from the middle of the series.

I said what I needed to say to see the interior art.

...so I guess the actual answer is "not at all, but the word bubbles are way larger than they need to be, which is annoying because it covers the art."

not gonna lie, i'd probably trade my dick n balls for some ass-kickin cybernetics, metabaronic weaponry and a badass horse any day of the week

see

No, that's not what you're guessing, it's what you're pretending to think in order to try and save face after wrongfully assuming that the interior art doesn't match the cover (even though it does) because you're a retarded amerimutt whose local comic book industry has abysmal standards.

That's what your statement is.

I keep wanting to get into Metabarons but always forget it even exists. One day Ill buy one of those big collected volumes.

The small bits of it Ive read in some rare metabaron storytime threads are always awesome.

Wrong.

Dude naw; I'm actually the same guy that posted
replying to myself because it ACTUALLY IS annoying that the word bubbles are way oversized. What I meant was the bubbles 1, 3, and 4 are taking up too much page space.

A lot of the time they NEED to be that big because Metabarons is a fucking novel, but in a good way. See: next page.

Hey faggot, guess what, turns out there can be more than one retarded amerimutt who assumes every comic book is as terrible as US comics.

>What I meant was the bubbles 1, 3, and 4 are taking up too much page space.
bull fucking shit

The fuck is this thread? Good art thread or for this specific book or the creator or what/

It probably has something to do with the fact that the comic was originally in French.

It's published by Humanoids. That's reason enough to assume it looks like shit if you don't know better.

The parts inside pink squares are taking up valuable page-space that could be full of scrumptious pictures.

Agree: I started thinking that while I was drawing pink squares. This shit's WAY harder to redraw than manga word-bubbles.

There are plenty of eurocomics with subpar art which gets a pass solely from being euro. Mostly cookie cutter and western shit that is barely removed from cape and yet it gets a pass.
That being said, at least the first Metabarons volumes all have fantastic art, I haven't read the last ones and I wouldn't put my han on the fire because ridiculous digital gradientpuke colloring and awful looking sub-manga stuff that fails as both comics and manga are things in european books as well.

go ahead and insult me but Ledroit lost a lot of what made his art actually exciting as he became more technically proficient. Dark Moon vols 1 and 2 are just absurd, where the guy can go from Moebius to Rubens to Joe Vigil in an almost accidental way, while also delivering a wonky but powerful art which truly benefits the (honestly, nothing-to-write-about) story.
By the 3rd volume, it feels like he conquered technique, but the price he paid for that was becoming a baroque charicature of his actually exciting work.

>Juan Giminez is the only thing that makes me feel good for being argentinan
>tfw no idea wherw the fuck he is now

alberto varanda is great too

Stupid fucking zoomer Americans

Hue here, don't feel bad, Jorge Zaffino is one of the GOATs, El Eternauta is fantastic, I really like Quiño, Jorge Zaffino's kid whose name I forgot is also great, Argentina is probably the South-American country with the highest good cartoonist per capita ratio, not to mention your fantastic literature. Alfajor is the shit as well.

that's the comic where the main protagonist get's his legs crushed by a machine as a boy right?

yup and due to a condition he levitate naturally so he replace his newly crushed legs with weighed down augmetics

That's simply because the original is in french...THE BIG WORDS, FANCY WRITING FRENCH, TO BE EXACT. When translated to other languages, english in particular, you get a lot of unused space, especially when you use the same font. That's the problem with having speech bubbles in the original art.

also his ancestor gets their hands chopped off using an ARTIFACT FROM ANCIENT EARTH TIMES (which is actually just a ham slicer from a deli)
