It’s been nearly 30 years since Captain Planet first aired and the environment has only gotten worse; we’ve let him down big time.
Are you doing your part to help take action against climate change, Yea Forums?

No
Well I'm broke enough not to have left the country in half a decade and I can't drive either, so yes

The image was changing before we even got involved user, it isn't worth trying to stop the inevitable
I hate that so many people are apathetic about the impending disasters we’re going to experience. More heat waves, more natural disasters, more extreme weather, Florida is going to be underwater, the coral reefs are gonna die.
Our planet will become uninhabitable solely due to our selfishness and people don’t care, that sickens me.
Because the show was aimed squarely at shaming Americans for destroying the environment, even though we were already one of the leading countries in environmental progress. Maybe if the show had been made for Chinese and Indian markets, things would be different.
Don't blame this shit on the west, blame it on the two countries with populations over a billion and environmental laws more lax than the "take one" sign on a bowl of Halloween candy.
I loved how the most aggressively environmentalist character in the show, whose every line of dialogue was a shaming lecture about how other countries aren't doing their part... was the fucking bitch from the SOVIET UNION. Hey you cunt, how's Chernobyl doing?
They also said the civilization was on the brink of collapse because there were nearly 5 billion people on earth so we need to stop having kids
>They also said the civilization was on the brink of collapse because there were nearly 5 billion people on earth so we need to stop having kids
No, they said WHITE people need to stop having kids. Well, white birthrates are at a historical low and yet the world is still grossly overpopulated. Why didn't things change for the better like they said it would when whites stopped procreating?
There’s only so much based USA can do. Get on our level
>Hey you cunt, how's Chernobyl doing?
Pretty well, actually, all things considered. It's not the scorched wasteland from those Stalker games, since all the humans GTFO of there nature reclaimed the land.
Better a couple melted ice caps than another ice age, that's what I say
Sucks to be someone who just invested in waterfront property, though. Talk about too much of a good thing.
No, fuck that preachy cunt.
Here is a 1978 episode of In Search Of with Leonard Nimoy, warning of the dangers of Global Cooling caused by pollution and how we'll be entering a new ice age by the year 2000:
Here's the trailer for An Inconvenient Truth from 2006 in which Al Gore warns us that Global Warming caused by pollution will destroy the earth in less than a decade:
Global cooling? Global warming? I think now they call it "global climate change" so that whenever the weather or temperature changes, up or down, the media can hit the panic button and governments can demand tax increases to "offset the carbon footprint". Liberals love this shit.
Environments actually doing better in many ways. Not perfect. For example we switched over from using paper bags to plastic because we thought it would save trees. And it sort of did. But then people didn't dispose of them properly. Now we're working on robots to help fix these problems by cleaning up the large Ocean garbage patches. I've been working on new technology to clear out the microplastics from the water. As far as Political Warming is concerned well that's a whole other issue. The left side of politics has screamed about global warming for more than 10 years but hasn't given a shit about deforestation or plastic in the oceans. They've used it as a political club and nothing more because they don't actually care. It's just a way to get votes. And there's so much more to the issue because there's really a lot more complexity, including but not limited to see so-called consensus and the mountains of evidence to show that things really haven't changed that much in some ways. Now I actually believe there is some change going on but I might point out that around the time that Captain Planet began airing people were worried about global cooling. And they don't want to admit the fact that the world does go through natural climate shifts on its own. Honestly there's actually quite a bit of good news out there if you want to find it. But the vultures in the media on both sides but most certainly the left more so than anyone else loveto pedal outrage and angst. Because that's what sells the most.
Even CP knows we're all fucked.
>pretending Nimoy and Gore are in any way climate science experts
Also the global cooling thing was in no way a scientific consensus on the same level as modern climate change.
Isn't there going to be a remake of this show?
>I've been working on new technology to clear out the microplastics from the water
You have?
