For something to be funny it requires a set up, then the punch line, which is a subversion of expectations.

The problem is these people are disconnected from reality which makes comedy impossible, because their setup is nonsense and the punch line that follows has nothing to subvert.

Additionally, Trump is now impossible to make fun of.

If I start to tell a joke, one you have already heard before, you aren't going to be as amused as the first time you heard it. A dozen times later and you'll be bored of hearing it.

This is where Trump is now, everyone has taken a shot at him for pretty much everything he's done, that when you see Trump or a Trump Allegory, you get bored because you know it's going to a quick and lazy jab to show wokeness more than it is a scathing commentary.

Basically, Trump is immune to criticism because people are just sick of hearing it and tune it out.

The Simpsons already did a great parody of 2016 election almost three decades ago: it was in season 2 episode "Lisa's Substitute" which has a B storyline of Bart and Martin Prince trying to become the class president. While Martin is more competent for that job, the classmates prefer Bart because of his brash nature and smear campaign tactics. In the end Martin wins because no one bothers to actually vote except his friend.

That's how you do good political satire, take the existing characters and put them in situations that would be in character for them. You don't need to use literal Trump as a character to criticize him.
