Ares. I'm going God of War on this one. He was given a fleeting chance with his "Shades" squad and he turned them into fucking heroes that earned a warriors death. I can only imagine him given a black ops team made to do the dirtiest work that S.H.I.E.L.D. can't be bothered to do.

Moon Knight. He is the perfect adaptable soldier that we can basically send in for any task and basically assume success. Also he has a track record for punching above his weight class so he is a goddamn beast.

Scarlet Spider. I know that Kaine tried his hardest to be a true hero, but let's be perfectly honest on this issue. Kaine is a monster. A straight up warrior. He has a moral schema that far surpasses anything Peter has dealt with and because of it we can actually ask this "Spider-Man" to do what is necessary and not have to worry about a weakling willing to let the world burn for the sake of "staying true" to their morals..

Scarlet Witch. I feel like if we're looking for a character that believes in redemption, Scarlet Witch would be perfect for the position. Also she is one of the few heroes that can stand toe to toe with some of the bigger beast heroes like Hyperion (albeit with effort). Her reality warping makes her a perpetual wildcard that would be essential for the shitty missions the Thunderbolts will inevitably be assigned.

Diablo. This isn't someone I would normally choose but the more I research him the more variable he appears to me. There is so much potential with the character that it's baffling he's not used more. If he's dead please don't tell me. I'd like to think he's doing great.

Another team lineup. Not going to assign roles and just pick people I like for a hero team/"dirty" team.

Daredevil. He initially operates in the shadoes but eventually his involvement is made public. I love the idea of his catholic upbringing affecting how he builds his team.
>Team Members
Taskmaster. As long as he's paid well, we can count on him. Also he does get attached to his teammates so count on that.
Absorbing Man. He's someone confident in his position, yet opportunistic and if given the opportunity to go "pro" he'd go for it.
Shadow King. He's going to be given a "halo" to inhibit his mutant powers but assuming he's not completely insane he'd play ball, even if just for a bit.
Speed Demon. He'd do what he could to prove himself. That will be beneficial.
Sin Eater. He's operating off a sense of "justice". He's a zealot out of his mind, but could possibly be aimed in a different direction. With enough time, we could make our own Punisher.
Lady Octopus. Genius, check. Adaptable fighter capable of going one on one with Spider-Man and winning, check. Hottie, check. Check, check, check.
I've been drinking and know this is an insane line up. Love to here different suggestion. You guys tend to have awesome thoughts on these sort of things.

Ult Pym? Nay No Never, as the song goes. 616? Ennhhh, depends on how many retcons are involved in regards to that dark time in Hank's life. If its the Hank that was well in control of his mental faculties when he decided to sic a Killbot on the Avengers and clocked Jan, leaving her a bruise, it's unlikely.
We add in the various mental instabilities and the downright insulting implication that Janet was manipulating him from later stories, maybe.
