Megaguirus was a cool monster stuck in a shitty movie (which can be said for a lot of villains in the Toho films). She was a better Evil Mothra than Battra and bringing back the Meganulons gave her that "smaller monsters that can menace the humans" element that Destoroyah had.
But goddamn, that movie still managed to be shit in spite of itself. And the R1 DVD transfer cranked up the brightness levels when it wasn't supposed to, so those goddamn wires are 100% clearly visible throughout the entire film.

From what I've heard, to get rights to use characters from Godzilla you have to pay for each individual copyright.
So a Godzilla show would probably be just Godzilla and a bunch of OCs.
Most of the comics are good. The Marvel old stuff is silly fun, the Dark Horse stuff has some good ongoing stories, and the IDW series were some of the best.
If you were going for comics best bet is any IDW miniseries that catches your eye since they'd be a single trade self contained story. Best are Half Century War and In Hell, but others like Rage Across Time or Gangsters and Goliaths were good too.

All of the monster content in KotM was perfect but the movie could have very easily cut down an hour of the human content and not been any worse for wear for it. It was a lot more of a slog than I was expecting it to be.
