Maybe the comic book industry needs some introspection before it's too late. Maybe the people pumping out shit that's lucky to make it to 10 issues before getting canned need to ask themselves "Why is everyone buying manga and no one buying comic books?"

It's a "I wanna talk about manga on Yea Forums" episode.

Again.

Fuck off back to your containment board, retard

Who buys manga in the west? Don't people just read it online?

Considering most comic shops are desperate enough that they're now selling manga, yeah I'd say manga discussion belongs here.

Maybe shut the fuck up already. Everyone would love that .

I think you're looking for Yea Forums buddy.

Japan stores sell western comics too, so you cool if I go shitpost on your board as well?

What's a great manga? Don't suggest half-assed manga like Vinland Saga or Berserk. Give me masterpieces.

Comic books have gotten "to big to fail" Marvel shot itself in the foot by only selling books to comic shops because it took half the fun of discovering a comic while grocery shopping or at a gas station. What I want marvel to do is what dc started ripping off from japan, set up four giant magazines filled with 5 comics worth of stories maybe one or two original runs with reprints filling up the rest of the book. paying 3 bucks for 20 pages of story that'll likely be retconned within five years isn't great

Buddha, 20th century boys, yuyu hakusho, one piece, trigun

20th Century Boys was not good, and I love conspiracy shit. Yu Yu Hakusho isn't great, One Piece was silly fun but lost steam, and Trigun is pretty mediocre.
I've read some good Tezuka, so I'll check out Buddha.

dc has these, found them at walmart for 5 bucks a piece in the weird card game/collector toys figure isle by the register.

Gash Bell is pretty based.
I've been enjoying Beastars lately
Wolf Disciple of Little Red Riding Hood was a fun read
And anything by Douman Seiman is a trip

maybe stop regurgitating the same shit and have more variety like the manga industry does.
also perhaps don't start a comic series just for it to end in 3 issues

seriously when I start a new manga to read at least it won't end abruptly and will actually have an ending unlike most comics.

Cyclops is good too

Ah, I see now you are a true man

The French are used manga readers

I'm surprised marvel hasn't followed suit, I'd buy them but I didn't like the censorship done to the supergirl run

yuyu is better as an anime honestly and you really found trigun to be mediocre?

>Not owning a physical or at least digital copy of something and I'm not talking about cloud shit
Did you learn *anything* from the fall of exhentai?

Reading online lacks soul.

Exhentai has been back up for weeks.

Gash Bell was alright, but not my kind of fun. Wolf Discipline is not good. I didn't care for Voynich Hotel.
I will check out Beastars.
>yuyu is better as an anime
I don't really like watching anime for many reasons. From the little I've seen, you're probably right but I'm over this story so I won't watch it.
>you really found trigun to be mediocre?
Yeah, I reads like a lot of other generic manga I've read. Also, I don't like Japanese humor. A lot of potentially good manga is ruined by the horrible comedy.

>I didn't care for Voynich
What about Nickelodeon and Oddman 11?

By the grace of God and Moldavia.
And what happens when Moldavia decides to fuck us over?
Take the woodgrain pill. Get a shelf.

I haven't checked those because I didn't find Voynich Hotel great, and that's the one everyone mentions. How are they?

Nickelodeon is a series of shortstories
Oddman 11 is functionally a wacky/lewd manga Scott Pilgrim

>Maybe the people pumping out shit that's lucky to make it to 10 issues before getting canned need to ask themselves "Why is everyone buying manga and no one buying comic books?"

Because the manga industry totally isn't a feast or famine system either?

Reverse gender'd scott pilgrim.

Yotsubato&

Humor is hard to translate between cultures have you read I am a hero? I liked that more than I liked walking dead

>"Why is everyone buying manga and no one buying comic books?"
Unironically SJWs

Is this peak vulva performance?

Only if its popular or the magazine keeps it going despite flagging sales, because there are plenty of series that get the axe and rushed to a weak ending. Looking at you, Marry Grave.

You mean casuals that would rather watch a comic book youtuber than actually own a comic.

Do we have any real figures on the performance of manga vs the performance of american comics in recent years?

So this awful shit is allowed but Gumball threads are banned? FUCK THIS BOARD

You forgot your vomiting elf image.

Because prudish American values has prevented niche sexy books to be sold in as many stores and as conveniently as the compact island nation of Japan. So they’ve turned to the internet to crank out whatever kind of living they can. I’ve never been into a Lions Den sex shop but I doubt I’d see an American doujinshi of Miraclous Ladybug, let alone an IN print copy of something from B.E story club or Giantess Club. Be it Patreon, or other digital storefronts. collectedcurios.com/apsara.html ebbooks.itch.io/stranded-vol1

Did you actually report this though?

Vomiting self I have not but I hope this will do.
Also I highly recommend Chainsawman for fun slasher action and life lessons about how ecchi will disappoint.

Well, I'm certainly not checking out Oddman 11. Fuck Scott Pilgrim.
It was okay. It meandered a lot in the middle.
I haven't read it in years, but I used to love it.
I don't enjoy zombie media anymore. The beginning of I Am a Hero was also one of the worst popular seinen manga I've read.

>fun slasher action and life lessons about how ecchi will disappoint.
Why not both?
Read Murciolago.

Last time I didn't they banned me. The report feature doesn't work.
