Give me the worst animation errors. How did the production team not notice?

When you think about how expensive and difficult animation was before it was digitalized, you literally had to pick up a piece of transparent plastic and lay it down on a little light-table, not just for each 24th of a SECOND, but for each separate ELEMENT of each 24th of a second.
imagine the koreans were just tired as fuck one day and fouled it all up, and you have a deadline, and you're making something this brainless anyway, and all anyone ever does is whine at you because you sell toys, as if money is evil and toys are poison...
m.youtube.com
count the number of scenes where there are two of either blue collar Scooby or red collar Scooby instead of just one of each.
What the fuck. They could have at least thrown a roll in there to make it look like it spiralled out of control.
Never forget
That’s not so much an animation error as it is just bad and lazy animation. Or lack thereof.
>badmouthing the treasure that is FoodFight
>that woman on the right walking like a glitched NPC
What the fuck
Is that from the Titanic animated film?
Holy fuck thats hilarious
From a animated Titanic film.
There's another animated one that has the captain survive the sinking.
There's one where Balrog from street fighter runs out of the elevator and goes from shin height to human height or something like that.
>hoes mad
inuk chuk
That's GTA physics.
>Balrog
It's Deejay. Also, what is the error with Peg?
MUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDA
Dunno, sorry. I know I had one of her but I don't see it, she partially goes through a rail or something, probably in the same scene.
Two of them, fat woman on left is glitched too
Unironically better than anything on Cartoon Network today
same energy
>My man!
The entirety of Foodfight counts as an animation error.
Braceface has thousands of animation errors that are DIC-tier but this one has to be the worst and most blatant of them all
Idk why it took me so long to see the error lol
When will they learn?
Is he supposed to be giant? Betty is taller than the building she's next to in the background.
>that one scene in the SpongeBob episode "To Save a Squirrel" that was animated in 60FPS
there was one of those?
the fuck am i looking at
Show us
?
you can tell there's ghosting here
>escaping the manlet pit: illustrated
an extremely wack perspective.
The condo's hallway is supposed to be behind Maria and one of the doors lacks an edge it's supposed to have for camera perspective
I think we need it in motion, user.
Is this Jump Force?
That's actually a really interesting error.
The look of fucking tired disgust on that mans face as he reunites with his family.
>Two people walking in place
>Guy is looking up and has his mouth open, looking like an idiot
>A second copy of the woman and boy appear then disappear
This is densely packed with errors.
in motion, just that background along with Maria turning to look behind her through the door cut to the next shot
>the hole growing and suddenly vanishing
>that one guy running away and his legs disappear
>triceratops walking through anyway
>differing colors between scenes
>tables blinking in and out of existence and one briefly manifesting just to get kicked by the t. rex
>t. rex's first course of action is to eat salad, plate and all
There's so much going on here
Lol. Why does DIC have such shit tier quality control?
Jem is a gem
Donnie doesn’t know what going on.
What was the one error where April was given a Turtle's head?
>Diego and Annasui join GI Joe.
To be fair, the guy with the legs is just a side effect of the table disappearing, so that's not really an error in itself.
Same with the triceratops, basically.
Why is Yoshi so smug?
This "ᔭuigi" comes up more than it should
Luigi is a secret member of the SS
yea, it's more of a background/animation mismatch -- if they'd just drawn the background to mimic a lower camera angle and narrower FOV, the animation would look natural
That's probably the most tame error from that show.
They actually fixed this,in KH3 by cutting to another angle
yea, she explained it much better than i could
i thought it was the missing finger
Is not an error, they did it because otherwise the rig model would break. Still, really hard to unsee.
Oh my, it took me a while lol
That episode is just... Bad.
I gotta admit - I have no idea what I'm supposed to be looking for.
Did the cart commit suicide
pay attention to her hair and her left shoulder
I did because of the file name...and I still don't see it.
Her hair just kinda magically appears in front of her body whe. Its not suppossed to.
nah the pinky is layered behind her hand
don't forget Sharon's mouth being black before this shot and Connor getting Griffin's colors and clothes in 2 separate shots after this one.
I see what you mean. I was trying to look for that, but since you can see her fingers on the left hand at the beginning pulling her hair forward, I was focused on that.
It's like there's key frames missing.
Thanks, user.
Underrated post
The wagecuck japs at Sunbow just wanted to go home and shovel rice down their ugly, flat faces.
The absolutely pointless "double transition" at 0:39 that happens for no reason at all.
And this isn't an "animation error", but the fact that this show refused to show Shocker's face or use his real name always confused me.
youtube.com
they probably fucked up the woman passing the kid to the blonde guy, because the guy in the foreground is clearly an afterthought and he just so happens to obscure the pass
were phones really that big back then?
Because The Shocker means something they don't want kids knowing.
Fuck no, that's the joke. It looks like it's close to the camera but it's actually just huge.
>when the animators are never drug tested
still impressed that they took time to fix that
But the watermark is another problem.
To be fair, it's not horrifically blatant. You have to stare at it a little to notice it.
>But...but Nu-Disney is lazy! Walt would never allow this in one of hi...
That movie has silly camera perspective jokes all the time. I love it
you're fucking autistic
What a nerd.
Shit art for the worst route
how is this so fucked up? i can't get my head around it. the bag looks normal in proportion to her AND the steps, so then why does she look so huge?
The railing and the wall?
that's because they don't animate a new animation for every frame
that and they have a budget thanks to capcom
kill yourself retard
She's pulling it forward with her right hand.
Looks to me more like the steps and handrails are made for toddlers than she's really huge.
kek came to this thread to see this
me too, but when I figured it out holy shit my sides
Is this the greatest auto generated caption in history?
Part of this was reused for an entrance of the dinobots, non-breaking wall and everything
I don't envy the outsourced animation
>have to rush to meet toy sale deadlines and syndication episode counts
>"what show are we working on today?"
>"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles."
>"That doesn't sound so bad, why are you frowning animator-kun?"
>shows the four main characters are identical aside from bandana colors and what weapon they may or may not be holding at a given time
guess the texture didnt load
>green green grass of home.gif
they have 4 fingers though it's not an error
Literally gta iv
>if I change myself into star butterfly nobody will find me
As a kid, this error confused me so bad that I ended up connecting it to the way enemies explode in Ratchet & Clank. It never occurred to me that it could be a mistake.
that's more like a lazy hack than a fix
Frozen was made in such rush it had misplaced textures in some scenes
Honestly I think this one is subtle enough to dismiss, it keeps the flow of the action going so I can't be too upset with this personally.
Really its just the railing and the steps that are too small, I think everything else could be dismissed (though the window could plausible be higher)
I've heard that this was a moment where they definitely knew that there was an error, they just did not have the time or resources to fix it. They had some tough restraints working on this show.
He put the M on Luigi's hat and nobody noticed.
god the animation for this show was fucking awful in the first couple seasons
I can physically feel how overtired the animator was.
This feels like something from the Spider-Man Cartoon Maker.
>honestly disney is too sacred for our laugh, have respect of those poor hardworking talented millionaire will you, we are DECENT HUMAN BEINGS there ya'll
Tbh all these horrible animation errors didn't bother me at all when I was a kid in the 80s. So I guess there never was a real reason to fix them because the kids would watch the shows anyway.
Laugh every time I see this, the animators knew full well what they were doing
Three weeks an episode, right?
Shouldn't leave out the part where he then accesses the panel on the wall, which just brings up more questions as to how they planned this scene out
It actually goes even deeper. Building giant props and placing them in the foreground in front of the camera was an old trick for certain perspective shots directors wanted to make, like the one in the example, because of the technical shortcomings of cameras back then.
Yeah fucking seriously, you could have put in almost any non-fighting scene there (or many of the fighting scenes)
Pretend I put the cookies animation here
What am I looking for here?
when shows only aired a handful of time per episode over the span of a year, you could get a pass for many errors because the focus wasn't there, or the confusion would only last for a few seconds. It's not really like today where things can end on youtube and be watched frame by frame by people who specifically hunt for mistakes.
Don't blame the animator. Blame the guy shooting the cells. He put them on Backwards twice.
there's more to this error
that background behind the door is not correct according to this shot
not to mention Sharon's mouth being black in this shot
Autistic retard.
why?
No but there was an episode with a giant Veronica.
Also CGI animation was still relatively new at the time, especially on TV.
Have you ever tried animating with hair in CGI?
I've seen it as
>crazy_diamond_and_diver_down_enter_the_buffet.gif
CGI clipping happens in the newest alien movie
Gave me a good chuckle
>Has a TF object Kink
>See this
Fuck me, I only just finished a fap
>are you a professional animator that is paid for that shit
no. But it doesn't excuse anything. You are projecting your incompetence on some of the most highly paid professionals in the field. if the automated animation failed it was their duty to correct that shit frame by frame if necessary.
>only in the first few seasons
The perspective in this show was fucked right up. Robobuddies did a video on it if you can stomach cartoon youtubers.
>armless luigi
Have you ever considered transforming yourself into a corpse or is that not inanimate enough?
kek, these are amazing
>it was their duty
Nick didn't give a shit if there was hair clipping for a couple frames
Do screenshots count? As I have a few from old Captain America cartoon and Thor one
I don't think it would be right to toss animation with 100 $ budged and single cone wearing chained up chink drawing it on the pile
Those are some ugly furries.
Maybe, but I'll be damned if this isn't some reaction image material
you gotta GIF that shit. The 60's Cap cartoon is bad animation GOLD! It's as if they gave Terry Gilliam a stack of Kirby comics and told him to get to work!
Its an unfortunate fact that I have no clue how to make gifs, but here, have a video that I got these from and see it in "motion" youtube.com
Also part of an episode of it youtube.com
Tedfufu is a scholar and a gentleman.
Those were all Captain America screenshots, now Thor
Post Avengers Assemble.
Entire show.
I'm waiting for the day they give this as a special move for Deejay.
He truly is and his repositories are invaluable
I got lazy with Thor have this instead
>Mfw mischief
Also have this scene, once again I'm deaf when it comes to webms and gifs and I don't know how to convert it from mp4 vt.media.tumblr.com
Spiders gonna hate.
Not even his family, it's girl he's trying to fuck and random kid.
>Have sex with Bucky, Steve. HAAAAVE IIIIT
What am I looking for here?
Not inanimate enough.
Who really died that day?...
sorry, I don't know how to make a webm.
Does anybody have that one steven universe webm?
Is Jameson in bot going to kick some spider Arse?
" WHERE MY CRAZY PILLS, DOC. i JUST 'F UP THE SKULLS LITTLE PUCKERED ARSE!
post-production errors count don't they?
here's one from a foreign localized print
That's what he was gonna do in the episode
65 MILLION DOLLARS BABY!
What if the different edges of the door are just perfectly lit to be the exact same shade of blue from that particular camera angle? What then huh?
there would've been outlines on that door
A classic.
>the way his eyes and mouth shift suddenly
kek
The snow in Frozen still looks unfinished to me, that or the effects guys had never seen snow before and just guessed how it acts
H...how could they even make that mistake?
She is a big girl
...And who came back? Y'know, you've been acting REAL strange since the accident, Luigi. You sure you don't got somethin' to tell me?
>getting banned from Yea Forums.gif
Are you serious, or just joking ?
I'm just gonna assume you are like 12 or so, and tell you that early cellphones were actually around that size, maybe that will get a chuckle out of you.
Long live derp cart
That's actually a neat reaction image,
mind if I save it ?
>Berserk on hiatus again
>mfw
how jontron didn't mention this on his review.
What’s going on?
so accurate it hurts
Honestly I'm always a little confused when they go on about how great the snow animation looks in Frozen and alllll the research and practice they did to make it. Because it kinda looks like shit.
Based
it looked decent in trials they showed at D23, but then rewrite happen.
Anna has trouble with her hair too.
Oh shit, that's even more noticeable than the Elsa thing.
that one error in Toy Story where Buzz's wings phase through the Hot Wheels loop
>one scene in Back at the Barnyard episode
>Otis turns up the heat in Mrs. Beady's house
>next shot shows the meter untouched
lmao
she'll do whatever it takes to get wet and ridden hard
Oh, while we're on this topic;
does anyone have the stuff pointing out all the mistakes in the anatomy of this image? (hips and legs are disjointed from the torso when the exact perspective was modelled in 3D)
does anyone have gifs/webm/thread/links related to this topic? I'm trying to prove a point to someone.
>playing oddjob on golden eye
Not technically Yea Forums, but this shit's a banner.
Extended cut w/ sound:
youtube.com
>that dancing at the end
>Manlet uprising begins now, we’re too short to shoot!
Looks like Yea Forums what board did you see it on? Just do a reverse image search and you'll probably find the red line.
>that three mile tumblr post
I wish I could purge certain memories.
Damn it, Donnie.
>Diabolical tutor
kek. he looks like General Treister from Venture Bros (who funny enough was based on Ross)
>not the annotated version
youtube.com
What am I supposed to see here?
It instant transmits from behind her to in front.
For you b-b-baka
eyes
That music and those dance moves are perfect.
he's doing the garfield pose
same
part 1 of 3 in this trilogy of gifs I made
M. C. Escher, but with body parts
>I can hear this gif
>bone cracking sound
i wanted to make some gifs or webms of this scene because thought Bill's movement was pretty rad, but when I did I realized the whole scene was just littered with animation errors and knew if I made them people would just point them out
part 2 of 3 in this trilogy of gifs I made
When you wack a dead body in Half Life 2.
There was already plenty to mention.
part 3 of 3- I mean 4 in this trilogy of gifs I made
Luigi seems to have no fingers and he looks pissed about it.
No arm for that matter.
Domo arigato
part 4 of 4 in this trilogy of gifs I made
sorry I don't have a better source for this one and I dunno if this is really an "error" but this one is crazy
twitter.com
I'm pretty sure it shows up like this on Netflix, too.
You are literally autistic lmao
why is that?
that means everyone here is autistic by that logic
I watched some of the collision test videos and it just looks keeps looking like weird sand, they put so much goddamn work in and it looks so bizarre, if you look at the snow in Red Dead Redemption 2, which is running on out of date console hardware in real time, it completely outclasses it
it's said to be like that on Netflix
this is almost like something from a high-budget YTP
anyone have errors from the Captain N: The Game Master episode "How's Bayou"?
Well I do have a giantess fetish, so...
Disney cannot into smears.
cartoon running sound effect
Dammit, I mean youtube.com
Holy shit this is amazing
I dunno how outdated the hardware is but RDR2 was released five years later, which is a whopping distance in terms of technical advancement in animation graphics.
I can't seem to remember a single animation error in Fairly OddParents oddly enough
The entire show is an error.
let me guess, with what Butch Hartman eventually turned it into?
If you're not gonna bother modeling a complete background, then at least position the camera so that we can't see that half the mountain is missing.
What show?
You're late to the boat.
That's true, but remember that Frozen was rendered on massive workstation PCs and render farms where Red Dead is running on a consumer grade box that costs a couple hundred bucks, the 5 year gap is big but the fact the Red Dead is running real time whereas each Frozen frame probably took about 7 hours to render more than makes up for that. And maybe Red Dead's realistic art direction just makes up for it while Frozen's cartoony style makes the snow hit a sort of uncanny valley for people accustomed to the stuff
it looks odd for the trained eye, it's ok man.
Yea Forums "artists"
not. even. once.
the entire show was a mistake
>jewtube removing features for no reason and calling it progress
24 images per second is in ideal, reached in old Disney animations.
In mosty of the case, before digitalized animation, you barely got 12 images per second for the best.
Why do all girl 'reviewers sound the same.
Women have more monotone voices, because their vocal chords are lower down.
Tbh I always thought robo sounded rather distinctive.
This was all made in MikuMikuDance right?
Not seeing it.
This takes me back.
IT'S THE POWER OF THE PYM PARTICLES, BITCH.
Reverse shot has hand on the other side of her face.
First Bionicle movie
Everyone sees the wall messing up but I'm confused why the dinosaurs broke through just to eat their SALADS.
RoTG came out a couple months prior to it and their snow and ice animations completely outclassed it. Even in its contemporary era, Frozen's so-called 'amazing snow graphics' just didn't hold up to anything. I never understood why they bragged so much about it.
any examples of half-finished backgrounds from Frozen?
fucking lost it
cut them some slack thats still impressive for a group of Yea Forums virgins
>their entire reasoning was that it didn't work very well on mobile
phones have truly wrecked havoc on the internet
>20 secconds intro for a 3 minute video
kill yourself
I'm dead.
It was more the effects of how it interacted with other objects.
>The Material Point Method starts with very small particles of snow, which are assigned volumes and masses in a virtual grid. The model then factors in velocities and collision variables for each particle, which is then used to output vectors. The model then moves back to dealing with particles, applying the calculations from the vectors to get updated positions for each particle. This detailed rendering would not have been feasible in past years with more limited computing horsepower. By varying each of these factors, the particles move differently and can simulate heavy wet snow that sticks to things, or dry powdery snow that swirls around with the wind.
Jesus man, pull the stick out of your ass.
I'm feeling ill just watching it.
Aren't the Bionicle movies full of mistakes like this?
That sick time traveling and phasing ability of that tricertops is uncanny
i've been rewatching the series - i feel like there's at least one of these every episode
I can see the hanger going through his thumb as if it's a ghost trying to break free
There is literally no animation error in those clips to criticize.
i guess no one's mentioning jimmy's legs
Yes. Their QUALITY level is about on par with that of a rushed Beast Wars episode. The second one in particular is full of unfinished animation, mouth movements are missing like half the time and the framerate drops every time they try to do a slow-mo shot.
Are they enjoyable schlock? I remember watching the first one a lot when I was younger.
Dat ass.
I love the first three even though they're shit both as Bionicle adaptations and as movies in general. It's like they tried to appeal to both normies and hardcore fans but failed at both. But they're charmingly corny and you can at least feel the creators were trying their best. They have nice atmosphere and world building, and the soundtracks are fantastic too, they actually just got released a year or two ago due to popular demand.
The fourth, made by the people who brought us Foodfight, is just lazy. Not even horrible, just mediocre and soulless and ends on a cliffhanger but there was no sequel.
