I love this show. It gives Story of Seasons/Harvest Moon vibes and the soundtrack is phenomenal. It’s good slice of life. However a friend of mine recently watched it and got bored after half the season. Honestly I think the only real problem as that The Midnight Giant was probably one of the best episodes, and it was only the second episode. It peaked way too early. Although it remains good, nothing ever reaches that level of enjoyment I had on episode 2

I've always thought humans from trollberg were scaping from some shitty place, like the pilgrims that arrived to america during the british colonization of the continent, since one of the founders was pro education regarding race, genre and social status. Trollberg was founded at least 400 years ago and considering the show takes place in late 80's, at that time the right of education wasn't that mainstream.

Yeah, same. I also thought the show would be about Hilda going around the wild, making friends with weird monsters and comfy stuff like that, the show truly peak on the midnight giant (Even more if you consider they went to DEPEST L O R E wit the introduction of Jorgen) but heh, I can't blame anyone who didn't go further than that.

The cabin in the woods episode was also really beautiful. To be honest, eventhought I knew the episodes post midnight giant weren't really as good I really could enjoy the show. Unironically I enjoyed more the show by discussing it here along I watched it (not now, several months ago, when we discussed actual show lore and possible crossovers instead of just bland shitposting)

Why? The scene of woodsman favorite record is one of my favorite scenes of the show, also I love the interactions of those three (Alfur, Woodsman and raven) in that episode.

For me, that episode was just stuff happening. Everything that happened didn't feel connected to what happened previously. It was a nice episode, but it didn't do it for me. My favorite episode is The Lost Tribe one so take that for what it's worth.
