Arrogance is Damian's defining character flaw. One to which he repeatedly falls victim of.

King's Batman is so incompetent that sometimes he almost seems like a secondary character in his own book. King's dialogue is certainly not my taste and imo makes the series drag.

Bruce will come back to Gotham with Selina, Thomas will realise that Bruce can live what he sees as a normal life AND be Batman because his love for Selina is greater than all his recent suffering, he'll change his ways, Bruce, Thomas and Selina will take down Bane (with Selina landing the final blow) and Thomas will be killed during the fight. Just a prediction based on how king has been writing the series so far

Alfred is one of my favourite charcaters in DC, I love his personality, his relationship with the batfamily etc. But here I feel nothing. I don't feel outraged, I don't feel upset. I'm just tired of king doing dumb stuff for shock value, it wore off over 20 issues ago.

To be fair Bane fucking hanged all the Robin's at the beginning of Kings run, so someone getting their neck snapped in this run has a high survivability.

Damien is supposed to be scarily competant for his age, able to tangle with the likes of Deathstroke, wheras Thomas never went on Bruce's training journey and seems (or seemed, in Flashpoint) to rely more on a mix of basic martial arts, and supplement them with guns and a willingness to kill, and his knowledge of anatomy due to being a doctor.

In this run he's been fighting like he is just a more brutal and equally skilled Bruce.

What a baffling turn of events. Suddenly Damian is an important character despite being virtually absent from this run. So King throws in references to Rules of Engagement directly and indirectly to Robin War to suggest a narrative link. He also has him interact with Thomas and uses the Button story to further the connection and develop a relationship. But all this is too late in the game.

The Bat/Cat portions were horrid. Batman's lack of agency is truly astounding. He practically needs Catwoman to hold his hand. Thomas and Damian sound like people. Bruce does not and I'm directly comparing them because they're all similar characters but why the hell does Bruce get treated like this by King?

I Don't know what's worse: That NO ONE has the balls to stop King, or the people who keeps trusting and supporting him even after this.

Kinda shocked that Damian is suddenly relevant on the main Batman title. He was by far the best part of this issue (though he only appears to get pinned the death of Alfred on him). I am not following the story anymore but it's good to know that the Batman Catwoman scenes are as bad as ever.

This was the first time they met face to face after the failed wedding and it was the most irrelevant part of the issue.

Dude, Psycho Pirate has always been absurdly OP. His mask tore open the time space continuum in Animal Man, for Christ's sakes. The Medusa Mask can overpower ANYONE, and that's how it's always been. It's right up there with Eclipso's diamond, it's absurdly powerful if it's being used properly and useless if it isn't.

Overall I think King failed at making Thomas a well written antagonist, I'm still not entirely sure what motivates him to name one example, but I was pleasantly suprised by this issue.

I liked that Thomas didn't want to fight Damian at first. He sees Damian as his grandson and Damian does look a lot like Bruce from the Flashpoint universe when he died. It could lead to a conflict between Bane and Thomas, should Bane decide to kill their new hostage. Redemption in some capacity might still be possible for Thomas.

However, King has let me down so many times now, I don't want to set my hopes too high.

King hates fathers, user. I don't think Flashpoint Batman will have any redemption.

The very idea of Gotham Girl is broken. The moment you can mass produce suicide soldiers on the same level of captain atom you've basically said drug dealers can buy nukes on the street corner. How many organizations exist in DC continuity that wouldn't hesitate to level a continent with 100 disposable henchmen on super juice?

Look, retard, let me hold your feeble brainlet hand and explain it to you since you're clearly too mentally impaired to understand basic storytelling: She thought there was so literally no danger or challenge in fighting Damian (because of her superpowers), so she let her guard down and was once again being too chatty (something already established earlier in the arc when she fought Amygdala) when Damian didn't acknowledge her and then Damian took her by surprise with magic, which was part of his plan all along. It's very similar to Captain Atom getting sucker punched and KO'd by Gotham Girl. A powerful character gets surprised and is defeated because they're cocky. It's also what literally takes Damian down, because he's too arrogant (partly because he already managed to trap Gotham Girl) and thinks he can defeat Bat-Dad and Bane on his own, only to get BTFO in the end.

I hope Catwoman dies.

Clayfac is an actor, so he could be actually working with Damien. He's not gonna beat Bane and but he's clever enough to fool them and just get Alfred out. It's the perfect set-up really, this would be a smart move, how Clayface was written out with that magic bullet from Batwoman.

Damian's Wayne's deadliest weapon is his wit and his words.

What we get from this Damian-centric issue is a heart-wrenching look into this mini assassins love for his father. In true Damian Wayne fashion, he decides that he can fight antagonist Thomas Wayne all by himself.

So Bruce wants to go to Gotham before any batfamily members can beat him to it...but Damian already did that and is Bane's new hostage now. I hope Bruce finally does some proper research before he acts or he might get his son killed again without even knowing.

Thomas might not, but Bane probably would. Solicitations can be misleading, but they do tease another possible death in the batfamily for issue 81 or 82. Assuming Alfred is truly dead, Damian is the next most likely candidate as of now.

The Button was written by Williamson. Do you honestly believe King has a passing knowledge of it by the way he has been writing Thomas? I don't think so.

King couldn't keep characters consistent if his life depended on it, but Thomas seemed conflicted about fighting Damian in this issue.
