That would have been identity death for Ash. Ash wanted to remember being who he was.

He is back to being a man now, though he forget the angel business. But most of who he is is at least preserved. New girl ash has been created ex-nihilo, she is a new person with her own identity. basically, to maintain the positive changes that had happened because of that.

No, OG ash is back to being a boy. New girl Ash is a copy of OG Ash, that was then redacted to be a girl in her certificate too, then was put in the girl Cabinet while OG ash was put back in the boy cabinet. That way, the positive changes made by girl Ash existing are kept.

All the comic I listed have been updating regularly since they started (with the exception of crfh who has only recently come back to a regular update schedule), so that's not the reason. Especially with schlockmercenary, that has been updating 7/7 without ever missing a single update since 2000

Nope, the story is still going on. so that's not it. SF never stopped updating regularly. Crfh almost died but is back to a regular schedule.

It's very luck based. Two or three anons are enough to keep a thread afloat, so it can be archived quickly or stay for days depending on whether Bob is busy at work or on his computer at home.
Once we had Endtown generals, now it's dead (a nazimod may be to blame). sometimes outside flops after two posts, sometimes we get three threads in a row.

Seems to me like it's the reverse: Misfile's being talked about because it's getting closure, while those other two will never get any and their characters will be stuck in an endless loop of some form of status quo.

Not for Sluggy Freelance, the plot has been advancing. same with Crfh, but on a slower pacing and Schlock mercenary has got its status quo changed several times and is about to do it again.

I do kinda want to see some panels about the two growing up. Like this would be a better show rather then tell sorta framing.

The comic's been kinda consistent about only doing subjective flashbacks (ie memories) about stuff that only happened due to a file change, so that's par for the course.

It is funny, before this strip I was wondering about the James thing since Girl Ash lost her virginity to him in the previous timeline. That making Girl Ash comfortable would have them hook up.
Although James being rewarded with Girl Ash is weird since James is kind of a jealous controlling jerk.
