Why do people say that this did not feel like an ending? Zim's entire motivation gets destoryed and when he realizes it he will wallow in self pity. This special wraped up everything.

Everything is mostly back to business as usual by the end of it. Zim's renewed his motivation, Membrane still doesn't believe in aliens, Dib is still around to antagonize Zim, and the Tallest being in the florpus hole might end up being reset if the non-continuous show structure is any precedent.
>Why do people say that this did not feel like an ending?
Mainly because the comic's still going so it's not?
People who complain about that are retarded though.
>Zim's renewed his motivation
For now. Zim will eventually realize the Tallest are dead, dying or never coming back and will revert to what he was in the beginningof the film. Zim only was a threat because he wanted their acknowledgement. Take them out the picture he is basically done and Dib basically got what he always wanted from his dad so that arc got wrapped up as well. Membrane not believing in aliens is a non issue. What else more is there to wrap up?
I thought the movie rendered the comics noncanon?
anyone have the mega?
Jhonen wrote the first comic, which the movie takes a bit of beginning reference. Then Eric Trueheart writes the rest, but goes to Jhonen for approval if the next issue of the comic story works well.
Tallest and most of the Armada are effectively out of commission
The Irken threat to the universe is no more, their subjugated planets will gradually revolt now that they don't have the firepower to keep them in line.
Zim and Dib are back to their status quo, but Zim is and always has been powerless to take over the Earth on his own.
Are the Comics worth reading?
This was not "classic Invader Zim" at all. Classic Zim is a horrible, disgusting, dystopian future where Zim has no qualms about horribly mutilating, mutataing, maiming, or flat out murdering humans. Classic Zim would have had Zim making Clembrane from Membrane's amputated arms and Dib's DNA, fucking up the cloning process so he was a lumpy, mutated dib/membrane hybrid full of extra organs and shit he'd cough up and try and make food for the kids with. Not that shitty pink blob we got. Classic Zim would have had the peaceday bracelets infect the host children like parasites and turn them in to braindead green semitransparent versions of themselves after being shot by the moose, never being cured by the end of the episode and the world being too stupid to realize something had happened. Classic Zim would have had his plans foiled by something extremely stupid and commonplace within humanity, like the Florpus being an actual living entity but the stench of humans being so great that when it tried to eat them, it spat them back out in disgust someplace near where earth originally was, but not exactly, leaving a noticeable change in the solar system, etc. that only Dib calls out to everyone, who as always, ignores him.
No, this wasn't Classic Zim at all. This was a silly XD SO RANDUMB, slightly longer and heavily censored family friendly episode made for netflix.
Cool blog post bro
user I could kiss you
It's about family, and that's what's so powerful about it.
Pucker up!
buttercup
I'd definitely say they are worth reading.
he probably rationalized, he's too egocentric to accept failure
>people believe this movie was intended as an ending
>people still believe there is some kind of continuity in this series
Have you niggas ever even watched the show?
to think this pasta's already stale
>>people still believe there is some kind of continuity in this series
I mean, we got the beginnings of continuity in the original series with Dib getting the Tak-Ship.
Had the show had continued we would've seen repercussions from the package swap in Megadoomer, we'd have seen Tak return, we'd have seen Skoodge living with Zim and we'd have seen the creation of Minimoose instead of him appearing randomly in the Christmas special.
>Membrane still doesn't believe in aliens
That's the only part that annoys me. After everything he experienced he's just ignoring it all because someone hit him on the head.
>and the Tallest being in the florpus hole might end up being reset
Or there is another armada that Zim didn't know about.
membrane is a man based 100% on science. He knows damn well aliens are a thing after the events of the movie, but his own ego will never let him actually believe it, to the point he'll go and believe his own made up stories about the whole thing being a hallucination
>Zim will eventually realize the Tallest are dead
It's like you dont understand the humor of the show
it was never about ending it
Zim is clearly incapable of conquering earth even if he could just tell the computer to do it. that would either leave dib and gaz a shitty ending where they lose earth, or dab and gaz join zim which is also fucking stupid.
I honestly thought we were lucky to get this movie at all, and I didn't expect anything conclusive from it.
and before i fuck off, dont fucking tell me you want zim to become a good guy. you deserve the electric chair if you want THAT ending.
uh huh, sure. zim, who sat in the toilet for years and forgot step 2, will realize something important.
yea ok
