I really do want a Mayday movie but Sony would definitely fuck it up for me. I don't even want to think about how badly they'd butcher her personality or what kind of ugly lesbo they'd cast.

Other that, fpbp is right, it's too convouluted or maybe complicated is more the word. A lot of every story Mayday has been in relies on knowledge of the clone saga and a whole bunch of other obscure 90's Spidey shit that has never made it to film. Normalfags would definitely not respond well to it. Apart from that, it also requires and I mean requires the Fantastic 4 and some other properties that they likely don't have access to.

If they have to change a ton of shit, I really don't want it to happen at all. 2099 would definitely be the better sell and would way easier to pull off.

You know if they put Miguel in a movie they would give him a cybersombrero and cyberponcho and cybermariachi guitar and he would be destroying a wall with robot DRUMPF as the villain

Yeah part of why I liked Spider-Girl is those connections to Clone Saga. Like Mayday seeing Ben Reilly as her Uncle Ben, and Kaine and Darkdevil.

I honestly would only want Spider-Girl to come back long enough for DeFalco to wrap shit up and resolve some dangling plot threads and then I would be happy with it ending.

Mayday will suffer and be a semi-relevant character in dumb crossover events from now on and you will like it. But, really I think it ended fine even if a little unceremonious. April is dead, most of Mayday's rogue's gallery is dead, in jail or moved on. Spider-Man 2 and all her other allies didn't have the perfect conclusions but oh well. Most importantly she finally has a boyfriend that isn't an asshole. I like to believe she just stopped being Spider-Girl after that and the Inheritors never found her. Ignoring what they're actually doing with her is more healthy for me.

Based Thread is Based. Mayday could be a great “What If” and I believe will be very popular. Spider-Man 2099 could be flagship and I hope they dive into the 2099 universe as there’s a lot of source material to work with.

Spider-Girl doesn't focus super heavily on feminism but it gets mention pretty often in her comics. It wouldn't be totally out of place.

How long do you think it'll take them to just make a movie that is fun and good, and not just a movie that feels like it has to be an attack piece of SEE GIRLS CAN BE SUPER TOO? I don't give a shit about this playground mentality of 'girls v boys' I just wanna see good movies. We used to get them. 2099 is a safe bet and a good way to make a soft reboot.

I have nothing against a cool female hero. Wonder Woman was kino as shit. Just make it fun. They already got super powers, there's no need to make it a big deal that she's a girl, it doesn't matter if her powers do all the work already.
