Why is Hey Arnold The Jungle Movie getting so much shit now? When this released it was getting praised to Hell and back and everybody was saying it was perfect but now it seems like it's more criticized and the narrative is that it's the weakest out of the 3 Nickelodeon revivals. What fucking gives

No one other than one or two idiots on Yea Forums are saying anything about it.

>and the narrative is that it's the weakest out of the 3 Nickelodeon revivals
Because it is now.
It was good, but Zim and Rocko were both better. Bitch about the trans stuff all you want, the Rocko movie was still a mostly flawless return to the series' roots. Jungle movie was alright but was a little boring all things considered.
Zim was perfect. 10/10, no complaints.

Its the reason Rocko and Zim got sent to the Netflix death zone

Rocko belonged on Netflix

>this is now a Yo Aaron thread

Arnold was the ending everyone wanted all those years ago. If it was released back when the show was popular people wouldn't be complaining.

They Shippuden the fuck out of Arnold by making him "the chosen one". His parents should've stayed dead.

But the Chosen one thing was around in the actual show.

Mr. Simmons didn't act like Jasper from Family guy, so now the woke little faggots are throwing tantrums

This actually. I LOVED The Jungle Movie but it just didn't feel like "Hey Arnold". Craig Bartlett got way in over his head and wanted to make this big epic adventure as a proper finale but it didn't fit the tone of Hey Arnold at all. Hey Arnold was a show grounded in reality for the most part (a couple of super natural episodes here and there). Arnold being the chosen one to save the world is not what made Hey Arnold such a timeless classic.

I get what Craig was going for, he wanted the finale to be this grand send off but it kinda ruined what made Hey Arnold grand in the first place. Still loved the movie though

Mr Simmons is one of the rare cases of a gay character done right. It's not forced and it feels natural. His sexuality isn't the focal point of his character.

That's what I'm getting at. Even LGBT authors don't want to write essentially themselves because they weren't that one gay guy from the reader's high school

>Gay couple
>Interracial couples
Never realized how woke Arnold was

Everyone knew Simmons was gay back in the 90s. It's not like Ralph or Mr. Ratburn where they just pull it out of their ass in 2019 for woke points.

Let's be real, everybody knew Mr. Ratburn was a fag. This was definitely not an asspull. Ralph was though

The movie is honestly fine until the last 20 minutes with the temple and all the magical shit. A big adventure for Arnold, but one rooted in some level of realism, was a strong idea and the ending completely fucked that over. That ending is most of the reason it's the worst of the three for me, Zim is still the best no matter what though.

user I knew Ratburn was gay at age 7. How oblivious are you?

This. It was decent fun until we got the magical Incans, chosen one Arnold and his parents somehow surviving ten years in a coma without any medical assistance. If Wild Thornberries had the berries to say Donny's parents were killed by poachers, they could've said the same thing about Arnold's parents. Even when I was a kid I assumed they were dead.

He is feminine man, people says scar was gay because he isn't macho

Craig didn't want Arnold to end on a dark note. Come on guys

I found the ending kind of cheap and rushed to be honest.

Dark would've been like, they're dead, get over it. They can die and the ending can still be bittersweet.

I like the happy ending. Seeing Arnold's parents being overbearing and loving at the end and not wanting to leave his side again even while he goes to school was cute

I can agree on it being the weakest, but I really wouldn't call it boring. It's still really damn good overall.

People say Scar was "fey", no one worth listening to is saying "Scar is gay."

Simmons was the butt of many jokes. The kids, especially Helga, would make fun of the way he talks and his 'everyone is special' attitude.

The problem is when gay/trans characters are off limits from jokes and have to be protected and put on a pedesta

This. It should have been Arnold coming to terms and finding answers surrounding his parents death, not magical tribal bullshit

Simmons gets hazed quite nicely in "New Teacher." Not as bad as Lt. Major Goose, but bad enough. It was due to Simmons being seen by the kids as a lightweight, touchy-feely sort of person, not due to his orientation.

Literally had nothing to do with his sexuality try again

because it was shit and when it was released shills where full 24/7 wearing down thet keyboards defending it

>Rocko movie was still a mostly flawless return to the series' roots
it wasnt funny tho
they forgot the fun

>Arnold was the ending everyone wanted all those years ago.
lol no

Because the initial wave of nostalgia has worn off, and people are ready to nitpick it to death now.

Honestly, I think the only universally hated part about the Jungle Movie is that 90's grade cgi reveal of that giant ancient city. Otherwise, it's good.

I still wonder what the fuck happened to Mr. Simmons during the middle of the movie when he was captured by the bandits. He was panicking more than the kids and kinda gone at some points, mentally. I think he got tortured, possibly raped even.

Jungle Movie sucked, fanfiction-tier ending.

It would've been better if it came out years ago too. Then the creators probably wouldn't have felt obligated to fatten up the runtime with so many fanservice cameos.

It was ambiguous enough that you could interpret it as a coincidence. But in the special they made it more concrete to the point of little jungle kids literally worshipping him.

Man what are you talking about, jokes that were outdated a decade ago are hilarious today!

>When this released it was getting praised to Hell and back
no, it didn’t.

>They Shippuden the fuck out of Arnold by making him "the chosen one"
Naruto was already being treated as some almighty chosen one almost immediately after the chuunin exams, don't kid yourself. Kishi's shit writing spiraled out of control around then and it just got worse, but by that point the sob story was already almost wholly dropped and he was being built up as ninja jesus.

>Why is Hey Arnold The Jungle Movie getting so much shit now?
Tis the cycle of Yea Forums.
>Thing comes out
>Lots of people like thing
>Most of those who don't don't care
>Few that do care are super loud
>Time passes
>Novelty wears off
>Only people still talking about thing are the 5 complainers
>Dislike of thing is integrated into the board culture by default

Enter the Florpus was actually good, and discord trannies run gay ops to shill Rocko's Dead Revival

Nadine’s dad is hot goddamn

It's actually pretty fair criticism. The Jungle Movie. Bartlett was clearly basing events off of old notes and filling in the gaps as best he could. The other revival movies were way more complete and true to their original series.

Ratburn is pure camp
