Yes, the primary differences being her creator's laziness and blatant reuse of his prior ideas coupled with an origin that flies in the face of canon regarding how her powers work and leaves a lot of unanswered questions regarding how she got them in the first place. Reed and Tony weren't cribbing from existing heroes within the same franchise. Also Riri's background is far less impressive than Tony's when you consider that Tony built his in a cave from a box of scraps to escape captivity while Riri stole a bunch of high tech equipment and tools from her university then assembled them into a suit of powered armor at her leisure. One is an impressive feat of ingenuity, the other is not; Riri's background has less showings of intelligence and personal capability than most of IM's armored villains, and her original suit is pretty lackluster in comparison to most of the powered armor kicking around the MU. The problem with Riri isn't the setup or even the origin story, it's that Bendis basically squandered the character for a long time while cutting off potential avenues of development regularly.

Riri never got to mold her armor into its own design, she just got given more Iron Man armor and moved on from there.

Picture it though, Teen Lantern with her arm all tumorous and barely looking human, the corruption spreading to her chest and face, sickly green blood vessels running down her body, and one of her eyes leaking green energy as she attacks her former allies and the GLC, screaming that they did this to her and Volthoom is the only one she can trust.

Ironically, no one in the comic believes it and upon meeting her point out that she's not a teenager.

Both are extravagantly wealthy with buildings full of resources and they built up from low tech stuff to that level over the course of years, while she is 13 and has none of these things.

So far Gotham's Girl and her terrible execution. But "Teen" Lantern, by virtue of being a Lantern, means she can potentially show up anywhere. Gotham Girl will either be slain once Tom King is gone or sink into the abyss. But not before Bruce embraces her as the daughter he never had and immortalizes her in the fucking Batcave or some stupid shit.

that's the main problem with all of his minority characters. He has no real interest in making a dynamic character or doing even a wiki search on the background he is trying to portray. Unless you are one of those idiots who think: a little bit darker than white = black, then no, there aren't. In the most important cities it's full of latino brown but almost zero black. So unless he's saying she came from a literal farm in a town in the middle of bumfuck, nowhere; she shouldn't be black at all.

She did make her own suit at the start, though. She had a mecha suit made with random parts, but it was definitely hers. It was later that Bendis had her make another suit from scratch that was a more feminine version of Iron Man's suit.
THANKFULLY though, once Zub got his hands on her she ended up making a suit with her own identity and she's now a separate person to Tony. Just like Kamala in most of her stories.

Actually enforce the rule of only a few GLs, heck probably only one, per sector. New Lanterns only show up after the old one retires/dies. Hal gets Married and gives up the ring, Guy goes red and loses it, that kind of thing. Obviously there would be some mega team up where everyone comes out of retirement. Also, play up the other Colours. Maybe Jessica takes after the Super Hero Girl version, and is very basically Ghandi levels of passive, so she gets a Blue ring. Also, I personally want a Martian Lantern, that isn't Martian Man Hunter during a crossover event.

Do the opposite. More GLs per sector. Space is big and GLs typically don't have long lifespans so you need enough GLs to not only be able to cover events happening simultaneously but also to effectively cover their sector should one or two be killed.

I get that they're literally Space Cops(tm), but I don't want twenty to a hundred humans with green rings running around all the time. A small buddy cop flick with Aliens is what I'm after.
