I like it. It’s cute.
Self-insert power fantasy fanfic by McDuffie. White, right-wing Hawkman gets cucked by black, left-wing Green Lantern.
Started out in the first Vandal Savage arc and progressed nicely. They're opposites and attract and it works.
Born out of both having a real want for someone to relate to, since Hawkgirl was a spy struggling to stay true to her cause and Jon was a soldier that couldn`t quite grasp the looser hierarchy for the league for the longest while.
They were 2 people that were pretty similar and ended up relying on eachother for comfort.
You people are fucking stupid.
The watchtower was fucking awesome.
Wait... what are you... oh...
I'd rather have more Wonder Bats than this shit, they made their relationship take up too much time in the show, also wished they did more with The Flash and his relationships, the villain relationships in that one episode were nice but I wanted to see his romantic side preferably with the Brazilian fire chick
It's a space station, not ship.
shut up Timm
Don't you have some babsXbruce fanfic to write?
the same way i feel about any straight ships
Martian manhunters is tapping that now
Technically a different Hawkgirl
Who's still the same Hawkgirl technically I suppose but you get what I mean.
The only person he's inside of right now is Lex.
No it isn’t nigger lover
It doesn’t work
It was a nigger fantasy kikes forced into the show. Hawkgirl is for Hawkman
Kys fag
The more I look back on it the more I find myself absolutely BORED TO TEARS with the DCAU's core justice league team. Nearly every single one of them is written so stone faced seriously that it becomes impossible to really get an actual sense of chemistry between anyone. The only one there who can breath life into anything is The Flash and all his bits basically involve saying something silly to a serious character who treats him with eye rolling disdain. Even Superman, beacon of hope and truth, is written pretty dryly, if Timm feels like he wants to write him at all. Hawkgirl and Stewart are the worst offenders. He has all the personality of drywall and she's exactly the same as Wonder Woman but lamer.
We needed more goofy characters, or people who can spice up the tower. We needed Pastic Man, we needed Zatanna, anyone beyond more stoic serious badasses.
You are internet edgy. Do you own a katana?
Nothing edgy about my post. Go back to tumblr
Who would you choose if you were GL?
My own race, of course.
Jade
It's hard to say. They were both kind of similar: strong, feisty, independent, assertive, DTF. Personally, I'd opt for Hawkgirl because she seems like she'd have muscles and I'm into that, though Vixen's a good pick too.
Ultimately, I'd most want to fuck Huntress. Perfect combo of crazy, assertive and DTF but in a loyal and manageable way.
Winged bird freaks?
BLACKED
I like their son.
Their canon son is white. Seems bird alien genes are dominant.
I liked it. It was my frst exposure to most DC characters so I had no prior expectations that'd come from comics.
Ain’t no time for bird sex I gotta fly.
So how do you think they all voted?
For letting Shayara stay
>Superman
>Wonder Woman
>Flash
>Martian Manhunter
Against letting Shayara stay
>Batman
>Green Lantern
I think Wonder Woman voted against her, she was shown to dislike later in the series.
youtube.com
Diana seemed to be the most pissed about it. Bruce, for his own part, seemed to be the least upset overall. Which is really fucking weird considering how bad Bruce usually takes betrayal and subterfuge in comics.
I forgot about that. Maybe swap Wonder Woman and Batman?
I imagine Green Lantern felt the most betrayed, so he probably couldn't stand to see her again.
Flash loved Hawkgirl too much to have voted for her to leave, plus he and Superman are just too based and friendly, so I can't see either of them voting against her.
Martian Manhunter, as the only other alien on the team and no stranger to complex political situations, probably would have been the most levelheaded about the matter and elected to let her stay because she clearly regretted her actions.
I would have thought Batman would definitely have been in camp "trust no bitch," but I don't really remember enough about how he reacted to everything to judge where he might have actually fallen.
And of course now that you've reminded me of Wonder Woman's animostiy towards Hawkgirl in JLU, she's definitely one of the two that voted against her.
isn't it odd that all white characters still had this very dark shade anyway, at all times?
We know Superman was the tiebreaker for her staying, and we know the Flash basically saw her as family, so those two must have voted in her favour.
By the same token, we know Wonder Woman never got along with her from that episode of JLU, so she probably voted against her.
Batman, Green Lantern and MM are all up in the air, but I think -- based on what others in this thread have pointed out -- MM was probably for her while Batman and Green Lantern might have been in either camp, with a preference towards Green Lantern voting against her.
I think it's weirder that you're making a thing out of it
Bruce, was on pretty friendly terms with Shayara after those events, even though he didn't particularly pay attention to her prior to then. He was like her big brother or something, making sure she didn't date any loonies and also consoling her when she was feeling down. Apparently, he told her about his and Stewart's little time travel adventure, including the details concerning her and Stewart's future son. Overall, he was on good terms with everyone that the comics version would never be on good terms with. It was almost disturbing how friendly he was in his own, broody way.
In the show, he was on unnaturally friendly terms with Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Flash, Hawkgirl, Martian Manhunter, Green Arrow, Zatanna and Orion. Also he exhibited respect towards the Question. If Justice League VS the Fatal Five is canon to the show, then he's also got a friendly relationship with Miss Martian, who's practically another Robin.
It honestly kinda makes me sad knowing he becomes a full curmudgeon, burns all his bridges and lives completely isolated and alone in his mansion for pretty much the entire rest of his life before Terry came along.
Shame he got wiped out of existence because GL didn't like the idea that his future was ordained.
He's around in Batman Beyond, though, so it worked out anyway.
It's ironic because now every ginger comic character is also being blacked like her
It was extremely annoying having their dysfunctional relationship shoved down my throat every other episode. Ended up really tired of it.
>busty
>sexy
>tomboy
>loves to fuck
I could be describing either girl gunning for GL's cock although admittedly Mari has Shayera beat in the tits department.
Vixen doesn't strike me as much of a tomboy. She seems pretty feminine.
She's a model and all that, so she's more classy while Shayera likes her booze
most cringe bits of the show
One of the best in the show, next to BrucexBabs
Warhawk was great
best ship here
It's a shame we never had this pairing done right outside of comics.
>professional super model
>rich as fuck
>offered to fly John to Paris, just to get some breakfast
I didn't care until she took off the mask. Then it made me want a gorgeous redhead latina alien waifu and was happy for John.
Yeah this, she felt very boring in JL. I think showing her whole face allowed for them to animate more emotion.
jon deserved better and hawkgirl deserved to hang for treason. she got off so fucking light.
BBC+Bird cloaca= Winged Stormtrooper
Up to this day, i'm still confused
>It was almost disturbing how friendly he was in his own, broody way.
I always took it for Batman feeling more comfortable taking on missions that were dangerous, even for him. Like he knew that if he got into real shit, he would have people on his side that he trusted would be able to save him, even from himself.
>deliberately alter the future just to be contrarian not because he is against the outcome
>warhawk still shown in Epilogue
They still got together, at least one more time.
>not getting with shayera just yet knowing she'll be waiting to get knocked up and can instead bang vixen for the time being
John is a smart man.
>Black guy is an unloyal cheater
Surprise Surprise
Turnabout is fair play.
Wait, when Shayera cucked him?
Probably the black one since hawkgirl isn't even human so I can't have kids with her.
Not technically cheating
Actually yes she did. Later on she hit him upside the head with her mace.
Space Paramilitary + Space Warrior.
He was the one that cucked Shayera's original fiancee BUT he wasn't aware there was another guy.
She fucked that archeologist guy after John left her.
You can in the DC universe. Jon and Shayera have a kid in the Batman Beyond Future.
>after John left her.
That's not cucking
I think John didn't vote because he was too close to the situation so he recused hinself
During the debate before the vote J'onn actually did bring up the betrayal and how it'll be hard for them to trust her again
So I think it was
Stay:
Superman
Batman
Flash
Leave:
Wonder Woman
Martian Manhunter
It’s not in the comics now either.
I believe I remember Batman confirming he did vote against her but got over it when the vote didn't go his way. Literally nothing personal, unlike Diana who did take it personally.
i haven't watched it in awhile but i remember thinking that batman and wonder woman voted her out while j'onn voted her to stay his line about not trusting her meant he'd be checking her psychically
>BEGONE THOT
Based
Well, he was tortured and disfigured by the enemy, and now his fiance wanted to stop him from ending the generations long war that his people are losing because she didn't want some planet she didn't even know existed before she infiltrated it to be destroyed. His fiance, who had been cheating on him, that he forgave not once but twice, who chose an alien man and his planet over him and her people. I'd be a bit miffed as well.
He should have gotten with chick in the white. She was hot.
Pretty sure most if not all of the GL are right leaning. A lot of cops get red pilled by the job.
I like all characters being happy. I like it when they have personalities and are attracted to each other because that's realistic. You don't have someone that built in close proximity to you and not strike up a conversation.
he has black hair tho and every white person on the show has that olive skin tone.
>hawkman is right wing!!!! take that libtards
How did this meme even start
Worked well enough in the context of the show. Probably wouldn’t work anywhere else.
Excuse the shitty gif but he’s definitely meant to be half-black here. He was probably meant to be Hawkman and Hawkgirl’s son when he first appeared in Batman Beyond though.
>that Christmas episode
>Let her stay
Superman
Batman
Flash
>Kick her out
Martian Manhunter
Wonder Woman
>Recused
GL
Nah Hawkman is pretty objectively conservative. Just go back and read some of his stuff in the 80's and 90's.
But it's ok for a character to be rightwing. Not everyone can be a green Arrow
This. But at the end of the day this is comics.
John Stewart in the 70s was a stereotypical Angry Black Man. Hal was a moderate, stuck-between Ollie and Barry, and Guy was a bleeding heart who went into a coma, got brain damage, and became the most conservative of conservatives.
Switch J’onn and Bats and you have it right.
>that face
Shes definitely used a cattle prod on the bedroom before
this seems pretty reasonable.
Flash and Supes are too friendly to kick her out
MM is a very pragmatic person, so he'd want her out
WW never really got along with her and is definitely the kind of person to not easily forgive
GL's too honest to participate when the issue is so personal
So the swing vote is Batman, who I could see going either way
Nah, I think Batman would have voted in her favor. He proves in Unlimited that despite everything he cares about her and is especially concerned for her wellbeing after the debacle at the end of JL. I don't think he'd do such a 180 if he no longer trusted her. J'onn is the kind of guy that learns to forgive and forget with time. Bruce isn't. Plus, maybe I'm reading too much into it, but Alfred has sincere faith in her, and despite his reduced role in DCAU it's pretty clear he's got a pretty keen intuition for what goes on in his boy's head.
It still strikes me as odd that Guy would even have political views beyond what politician makes him laugh hardest.
I certainly feel something for that outfit she’s wearing.
Did anyone else feel sad at the state of the Justice League in Batman Beyond? By that point it felt so small and less powerful, like a club to humor Superman that their glory days weren't over.
They didn't really have a grasp on the team concept yet. It's easy to forget that was the first time the League ever appeared in the DCAU
I liked watching the behind the scenes shorts for batman beyond, they talk about how it was a real experiment. "When we started storyboarding the justice league we went back and looked at "The Call" (batman beyond episode with the JLU) and said OK, this is what NOT to do. We don't need jump cuts every 5 seconds to focus on everyone at the same time, we need to keep it flowing, etc."
Remember when Warhawk clearly died but not really?
He TOTALLY knew something was wrong with the situation and sent in the armor on autopilot as a decoy. Completely plausible, right?
I wonder how many members retired, and how many were killed.
The most shocking part of this sequence is that any of Terry's rogues survived that long.
why's he white?
I shipped it
>Shriek is still alive
what the fuck, didn't he get crushed by a building?
>Martian Manhunter
Retired to fug ancient chinese puss
>Wonder Woman
Retired to be the new queen of Themyscera
>Green Lantern and Hawkgirl
Retired to push out Warhawk
>Flash
Probably never retired, just sticks to his hometown instead of being a Leaguer. It's a throwaway line but Superman suggests the OG League isn't actually dead yet in Beyond.
>Green Arrow
Retired the moment he got a chance to smash the Canary.
>Question
Died in the line of duty, probably blowing the lid open on some terrible conspiracy.
>Huntress
Died avenging Question.
>Wildcat
Died bedridden after winning the toughest fight of his life, wishing he could go one more round.
>Captain Atom
Probably can't age so I'd presume he's fine.
>Vixen
Drug overdose.
>Hawkman
Still active as a crazed, Miraclo-doping barbarian-hero with a grey beard down to his knees.
>Mr. Miracle and Barda
We know they're still around.
>Orion
Probably rules New Genesis these days.
>Speedy
Sold Vixen the bad dose. Did time, straightened his life out, took over as Green Arrow after Ollie retired. Took Ollie's son Connor on as a sidekick, now he's retired and mooching off Ollie's fortune while Connor is the Green Arrow.
Becoming a supervillain or super hero automatically increases your odds of survival. It doesn't matter what your powerset is even if you don't have powers. You gain durability points.
he's not.
also alien genetics. If genetics was compatible in the first place, she probably had the dominant genes. Certainly in the limb department given the wings
But Rex doesn't have organic wings like Shayera, that's why he uses the armor
What always bothered me about this is Stalker. He doesn't care about crime, all he wants is the thrill of the hunt. Maybe he joined them so he could fight other heroes, but more likely it was just "throw his whole rogue's gallery in there".
that is one of my favorite episodes of the whole series
It's a space station, not a ship.
btw they make a soso couple
According to some follow-up comics, Shadow Thief came back and killed Hawkman and Vixen. John and Shayera retire together and have Warhawk.
I am ignoring that comic because it was garbage.
Space stations are just extra-large ships that don't move often.
Valid reason.
>Hawkman
>Still active as a crazed, Miraclo-doping barbarian-hero with a grey beard down to his knees.
I felt bad for “Carter” because he basically ruined his life for nothing.
How do you feel about this ship?
At least he had sex with his waifu and got some sweet wings out of the deal.
>he had sex with his waifu
Was that implied in the episode? I know they couldn’t explicitly show it but I don’t remember that.
>I miss the dress
>You didn't miss it last night
And when he reveals that he is hawkman doesn't she have a line like, "Uh, I have the WORST taste in men." or something to that effect?
When was this?
If Static was still active at 60, then some of the other teen heroes should still be around too
Stargirl, Arsenal, Natasha Irons
Old Static Shock was nice to see
the episode where you find out john, hawkgirl, and hawkman are all reincarnated souls from ancient egypt. or at least thats what an ancient thanagarian machine told the archaeologist.
I miss it a lot, bros....
If it means anything it shows that he's still alive. He was killed off in the tie in comics when Batman Beyond was airing.
>take villain
>can't make him a crime of the week crazy
>kill him off because you can't think of any interesting shit for him to do
sounds about right
