You know how people here like to say "How the FUCK did they get away with this"? Post times they didn't get away with this.

Woah. That was never going to fly, even on TV-PG CN.
Nice of you to post an OP and then wait exactly long enough to post a reply pretending to be someone else in the hopes of garnering interest in your dead gay thread.
But, hey, have a (you), I guess.
I recall a Regular Show storyboard involving the duo stealing and smoking Skipp's "magic weed". Of course they never let them put that in.
>3 Posters, 3 posts counting OP (me)
complete moron
"Why Did You Eat My Fries" always felt like it had a very uncomfortable subtext to me.
I know this wasn't supposed to end up in the show but I still wanted to contribute
Thats why Sugar had to come out and clarify it was literal
Was this made by the actual creator?
Dan Vs. was too based to be aired sometimes
youtube.com
I remember seeing a storyboard a while back for that one scene where Muscle Man and High Five Ghost talk about how badminton doesn’t have balls, and it was just an excuse to say balls over and over.
In the original version, they said “shuttlecocks” over and over, until HFG told muscle man to stop saying it. Guess CN was ok with balls, but not cocks.
Good god
Normally I would understand why this was cut but keep in mind this is the same show that got away with mounted animal heads bleeding out their mouths and eye sockets.
This early draft of the Transformers movie was even MORE violent than the one we got
drive.google.com
You fucking dumbass spaz
never knew this
It's funnier without that line. God that's such a good moment.
>"a FIRE inside my BODY? i am DISGUSTED!"
We cannot emphasize enough: John K has --issues--.
it's real
youtu.be
They changed it to "Coward" in US airings IIRC.
The censorship in Invader Zim somehow ended up making it better
>zim was supposed to get stranded next to a "mexico" sign
>Nickelodeon said no
>Jhonen does this instead
youtube.com
I love when creators just make whatever was being censored worse. Same thing happened with bigger, longer, and uncut.
youtu.be
just the same ones that were already found, but put to the voice clips
The chess dragon was going to say "King F U to C K" instead of "King SUC to KIT" but it was censored last minute.
Weird since the UK usually has heavier censorship.

I think the story was that a bunch of writers and storyboard artists got frustrated with baby stuff and started making fucked up shit to blow off steam
You never know what the case is. One writer for Reboot recalled an instance where he submitted a script, but Broadcast Standards & Practices rejected it... so he submitted it again without changing a thing and they took it.
This made me laugh hard.
>zim was supposed to get stranded next to a "mexico" sign
>Nickelodeon said no
Why would just the sign bother them?
From what I remember, this was supposed to be brown.
There was also the ending of the episode of Fancy Pants from Flapjack, where they wanted to make K'nuckles explode into yellow lemonade, but was told with the hot dogs, it'd look too much like piss and turds, so instead they created a psycho horror scene.
Jhonen said his proudest moment was when he had to change a kid jumping out of a school window.
>originally Kid jumps out of window and falls.
>nickelodeon said no because you couldn't see the kid land on the ground, despite the fact that the room was on the first floor
>jhonen changes it so the kid ascends into space once he jumps out
>that kid is probably dead now
PL-ank
My favorite censorship joke from Adventure Time was how they weren't allowed to say "murder" so many times in one episode, so they just had everyone pronounce it as "moider" or "murdle-urdle."
What episode is that? I can’t even remember.
they also said 'pissed' once. ONCE.
A classic.
There's more to this, though. This is from the official style guide used in pre-development stages of the movie. They had other images of her in a bikini and naked (barbie style) and everything, and Warner Bros had them change every last one of them to have less cleavage and less tiddy.
The kicker? Every time they had to censor a tit, it cost them thousands and thousands of dollars due to how the hollywood machine works.
Its called "Storyboard Jam" essentially, the writers and artists make stupid shit to get their head in the game. I've seen a few others, but this is the one that usually makes its rounds first.
>Allows Gibbons to fall several floors down a elevator shaft
>Of course he would be dead
>youtube.com
>"Well, he didn't die, so it's ok!"
>we could have gotten a more serious, darker version of Lord Dominator
I really do wish sometimes Wander S2 was rated PG
Im dumb as shit what was the issue with this song?
This is great
Some folks thought it was a metaphor for child molestation.
As in her father molested her.
Rebecca Sugar basically came out and said no, he literally ate her fries. To help actually put this to bed they later SHOWED him literally eating her fries later in the show's run.
Fucking around at work was how people shit posted before high speed internet
>Yo man
>Don't eat those
Mao Mao episode was censored when it was shown live. Instead of dialogue shown it just has clapping sounds now
Oh, come on, kids have been laughing at Calvin's snowmen for YEARS but suddenly this is too too much?
I don't get it
This makes Dipper look like a psycho.
i think the execs did a public service there
Fuck you.
That image you're thinking of was an obvious joke, you dmy, it was never official
They got away with saying Sofa King Wee Todd It too.
Not strictly the same but in the same ballpark
Wasn't there a Spiderman cartoon where they had Deadpool show up and he had to skirt around the word "kill" and kept using other phrases to be kid friendly?
I guess instead of just having a sign saying Mexico in the middle of nowhere, they made it a stereotypical run down Mexican location. Imagine not being allowed to call an innocuous character a racial slur, so instead you just change them to embody that slur offensively.
Oh fuck I'm equal parts laughing and crying.
neat, though I think the final version of that bit where Plankton asks about eating them was funnier, probably because it's more absurd than shooting them considering how small Plankton is
Oohhh, I get it now. I thought the sign was the only thing that changed. That's hilarious.
Yeah, but that's more leaning on the fourth wall than anything else.
Censorship is always weird inconsistent. In the UK there is a children's book series called Horrible History that consists 90% of gore and blood drawings and descriptions, and that's like "Haha so goofy", but oh heaven forbid the cartoon Racoon say poo
that music really brings that together
Is there more
This came from an episode with one of my favorite underrated lines.
>Sire?
>Wait 'til we're alone!
Best show ever
Anyone have that Regular Show storyboard where Mordecai says "fuck off, Benson"?
No, but that sounds hilarious.
Back on topic, Cartoon network heavily censored the commentaries for Adventure time, to the point where the audio would cut out for minutes at a time.
>revised March 1999 in a later panel
>Columbine happens a month later
obvious too soon
No she'd never even imagine it. It was the artists
and LGBT characters and gay jokes get by perfectly fine In the UK usually (example, 6teen used to air uncut on PopGirl in the UK until 2012 when they started to censor some of it and even after that, some gay jokes still survived even ones that outright mentioned gay)
I think CN UK have been much stricter in the past when it comes to censorship than Nick and Disney.
That ppst was on topic
This storyboard was cancelled.
ReBoot's trouble with ABC's censorship is a fascinating read.
reboot.fandom.com
This article doesn't mention that YTV was always onboard (or at least, not crazily restrictive) with the ReBoot crew from day one. While ReBoot had to find another network for US airings after ABC dropped them, they were already established (and co-produced) in their native Canada through YTV. ABC was just ruining the fun for everyone.
This is best seen in the episode Talent Night. The whole episode is about approving entertainment content.
>In DVD commentary for episodes 1 to 3 on the Definitive Mainframe Edition, it's revealed that Emma is a parody of a specific BS&P official, called Mary, who was "not happy about it".
Meanwhile, in the same episode, YTV gets a shout out.
>A giant one-eyed red robot is seen backstage. This is the same robot from YTV's logo. The Canadian version originally had "YTV" written on its chest but was removed for ABC Network's own airing of "Talent Night".
Now obviously they were going to ship out a generic version of the scene for non-YTV networks. So not only did they include the robot, they spent the time rendering two versions of the scene to do it.
SPWP. You’re a faggot.
This is fucked up, even for tales of the park.
user I need more plzthxbye !
No way
Here`s Lola naked if you guys are still interested.
What the fuck Dipper
>"sexy vampire"
they used to not give a shit about imitable actions like when they were shown in Ed, Edd n' Eddy
yet they barely even aired My Gym Partner's a Monkey
Whoever wrote that should have whatever show they pitch immediately greenlit
They thought this was going to be ok? I mean it might have worked if they just implied her chest, but those are full-on titties.
NEW MEME NEW MEME NEW MEME
That cat has a really sexy body.
Imagine if the movie really looked like this.
I am sure there would be way more furries right now.
Oddly, I think it'd have the reverse effect. Her being clothed adds to the sexiness because it implies something that needs to be covered
>he just explodes into deep red blood that everyone in the Candy Barrel drowns in
I can totally see what you mean.
You are probably right.
Tits aside, the teardrop tail looks way better than the puffball tail they eventually went with. I wonder why they changed it.
The nosebleeds were okay though
Final cut was Rigby saying "Go ahead!"
In clarence the censored out a gay kiss on the lips to a gay kiss on the cheek.
Spwp
I can tell the YTV version is from DVD yet the non-Canada version is from a VHS recording
Disney has some weird hangups, like characters must always wear a seatbelt when in a car. That’s why Bill still does his seatbelt up when he possesses Dipper. Throwing a child’s body down stairs is fine, bit god forbid you don’t wear a seatbelt.
>A reminder that both characters should be wearing helmets while riding the T-Rex.
good. also i hope this will get popular. watching gays mouth fucking in children cartoons is really fucking gay propaganda.
Same thing with wearing helmets on bikes.
Surely they never had even the slightest hope that this would make it through. Holy McFucking SHIT.
>I hate censorship on tv unless it supports my vision on what tv should be like
They censored "Shut up" from Angry Beavers
Nigger stfu
Ugh
The Welcome to Tokyo Dance
youtube.com
I know there is at least one Loud house fag that fapped to this scene.
CN has ruined the PG rating. It was made for shows like Fresh Prince and The Simpsons. Now it's just another name for TV-Y7.
After they cancelled their "make shows edgier" plan in 2010, they should've lowered the rating. Instead they kept it. Bastards.
This isn't nearly as funny to me as the panel where Dipper opens the Zombie Survival Kit and finds a noose.
isn't there a Nickelodeon Australia encode of the episode that had that line that has the line uncensored?
what happened instead?
I wonder if they ever realised they were tracing animation from hentai
what was the episode that was censored anyways?
Anyone got the pegging one?
Ehh, there were quite a few shows on CN that warrented a TV-PG rating. There's no way that Robotomy or MAD would have ever gotten a TV-Y7
Really the only shows that I can say DIDN'T warrent a TV-PG are Clarence and Uncle grandpa.
I don't get it.
>carameldansen is hentai
???
just like how there's no way episodes of Braceface like "Up in Smoke", "The Worst First Date Ever. Period.", "Miami Vices", "Skin Deep", "Grey Matters", "Mommy Nearest", "The Secret", "Vegging Out", etc. would be rated TV-Y7 in the USA uncensored
A tooth fell out.
Sorry, this was the one I wanted. Circa 1:40 in youtube.com
This was written for Adult Party Cartoon. It didn't air because the show was cancelled.
The actual dance is from Popotan
speaking of Ren and Stimpy, they banned Man's Best Friend so much it didn't even get released outside of the USA
I wish I hadn't clicked on this.
Most of all of these were the writers having fun. I can't see how they though this shit would fly in kids cartoons, especially in hyper-censored American television.
what episode was that again?
>not wanting to click on cute stuff
imagine how much fetish shit this would've spawned
It's literally the opening theme to a softcore hentai
user...
Er, rather I mean from the opening theme. The song is some sped up swedish shit.
Plankton a school shooter confirmed
What's the deal with the fries?
Actually, I know the period episode was on Fox Family and was Y7 or G.
youtube.com
Isn't even on the German DVD.
at first marcy sang an emotional song asking her father why he ate her fries, finn summoned her (demon) dad and it turned out he was a massive jerk
it was theorized that 'ate my fries' was an innuendo, but it turns out that he just straight up ate her fries — the very last box of them, considering that it was during the apocalypse — when she went to go get ketchup
Meanwhile you can now say 'shit' uncensored on TV-14. But 'cockblock' gets you a TV-MA-L.
It's amazing they spent at least a year working on this and didn't think kids would be upset about their favorite toys getting killed off.
Depends on the network. FX is constantly showing PG-13 movies that say 'shit' with a TV-MA.
Originally the song was a lot longer and the parts before the fries were about her dad abandoning her and the fry bit was just another example of how he didn't care about her.
Oh they knew all right. Keep in mind that the creators worked on Family Guy
Captcha is failing hard.
You all disappoint me
Rick and Morty gets away with a fuckton for TV-14. It goes back to the double standard where gore is okay but swearing isn't.
Surprisingly Hulu has the episodes where they say fuck multiple times uncensored TV-14.
Sire can be an honorific, like Sir, but can also mean father. Used as a verb it means to become a father. He interpreted what she said as asking if he wanted to have sex.
This, I haven't heard the original in years but I remember the first chorus was "Daddy, why did you leave me"
>creating a digestive system.
Peridot can't shape-shift.
probably was cut out even in international releases
meanwhile on Fairly OddParents…
>Crock Blocked
how could I have forgot to mention "Busted", "The Meat of the Matter", and "Act Your Age"?
I don’t have it off hand but in the episode of Kim Pissible where there’s some sort of thing that made the characters only speak the truth, they wanted to have Kim talk about how smoking was cool but that the health effects are far worse and that it would ruin your teeth and lungs. Disney shot that down super fast but the writers believed being candid would have been more impactful with kids.
Curious, what are the others that you've seen?
It's weird, I was watching some tigtone interview on adult swim's youtube where he mentions how tigtone's kills "must not be excessively bloody or gory", which is weird considering rick and morty is also TV-14 and gets away with a fuckton more violence.
it has to have been late in the show's run and i'm sure it wasn't censored on DVD
source?
He's right though faggots
...
Dude this ending would've been coool
R&M and Family Guy are so popular they can literally, LITERALLY get away with murder.
Seth said he pushes the censors to their limit just because he can.
I know one thing they can't get away with...
showing actual live-action NSFW child pornography uncensored
youtube.com
Nickelodeon was so lucky to let the uncensored version of the Invader Zim episode "Door to Door" get into international releases
presumably the reedited version was too violent for international audiences they thought
I wonder if it was the same case for "Walk for Your Lives"
That was fanart.
Welp. Ya stumped em alright, user
that's going to get Family Guy not only cancelled for good, but Seth jailed and the show erased from history just like Robinson Sucroe
vimeo.com
Fuck me then, missed it
>Australian version is "Shut up, cunt"
[Cartoonsaur] Peridot ‘Experiments’
I always forget how much fun S1 of GF was
You have to understand the context of the scene it's from, though. Ms. Baker (the teacher) is waiting for her date, and thinks that one of the guys holding flowers is for her. However, it's for another dude, disappointing her since she not only has to wait more, but it also makes her feel more lonely in the process.
The purpose of them being gay wasn't 'for LGBT representation', but to show that Ms. Baker would -never- be able to date the guy no matter how much she wanted to, having him gay kiss was the quickest way to do it.
More specifically, Sire is used specifically when talking to a king, although in the Middle Ages it was used generically for anybody of higher authority.
user, the zombie episode was season two.
frankly they could just have her get addicted to cigarettes and then show that it makes one broke and cranky as hell when they try to quit
I like how this script has a few pages of previous rewrite in it, so you see some real lovely messed up shit
>on shuttle, Ironhide and Brawn are blasted and then devoured by the insecticons
>no wait
>Ironhide and Ratchet get blasted SO HARD they FUSE TOGETHER in a metallic mess before violently exploding!
El Irken deporta
Gee, those guys really hated the classic cast, huh
My guess is the problem with designing Lola was actually Bugs. Seriously, part of the character lore of Bugs Bunny is using disguises and just straight up crossdressing.
youtube.com
So they couldn't just slap a dress a rabbit character and let everyone know it's a girl. Somehow they had to make sure no one in the audience was confused by signaling to the viewer that Lola wasn't just Bugs in drag. Unfortunately, they went way too far and made an over-sexualized parody of a female. Wide hips, thick thighs, big tits, breathy voice, exaggerated swaying movements. Naturally the studio complained but the damage was done.
IMO the Looney Tunes Show handled this about 1000% better than Space Jam.
I Totally agree with you there buddy.
SpaceJam`s Lola is actually a pretty crappy character, she's only good for fapping.
Well she still has a mouth even if it leads to nothing. Can just hold her upside down until the foreign matter leaves.
Why not make the token girl character that is splashable and not Petunia a different kind of animal than bunny then?
>Being pro censorship
Kill yourself.
kek, stay mad furry
they censored pearl and rose kissing in 'we need to talk'
They were told they could clear house on the old product and wanted that PG rating
That makes sense and I feel dumb for not thinking it through. Though to be fair I did forget that Adult Party existed.
Speaking of Gravity falls, apparently one of the lines that they couldn't get away with was "Yes, yes, blind the child." so it was changed to "Yes, Yes, burn the child."
Bump
Pretty sure that was the stated reason for this scene being cut.
In things that did happen, weekend at benson's was obviously substituting "chili" for alcohol
Marceline is such an unbelievably shitty character in hindsight
what is my little c word?
cunt
cunt
I guess poisoning Tommy, abusing Didi, and the implied incestuous relationship were fine, but writing “cunt” on the paper was just going too far.
IIRC the simpsons were only allowed to say the word "ass" exactly once per episode.
To celebrate Enter The Florpus I read Wikipedia's page on Invader Zim so I could know why the fuck a 27 episode, 2 season edgy alien show got a fucking movie 15 years later. Everything got censored the shit out of.
I started watching the show, it's pretty fun.
cunt
The Frycook that came from outer space
Dib bullies a pig kid and he jumps off the window.
That's so fucking stupid. It does seem to have a "deeper meaning" but I don't know where tf you'd get "molested." More like parental neglect or abandonment, or just a selfish parent. Which is the actual issue. (Or more charitably just a parent who's really busy, doesn't really know how to be a parent, or even totally normal friction between teens and their parents.)
I am pretty sure that was kind of the joke.
cunt
IIRC the final version of this one replaced "raincoat" with "umbrella"
anyone remember which ep this was cut from? I think it was around season 3
Wasn't this in a frame or two?
So John K was definately raised Catholic then
You would be shocked how often that works
HOW THE FUCK DID THEY THINK "BLIND THE CHILD" WAS WORSE THAN "BURN THE CHILD"?!
Ok I'll take the bait.
When did Family Guy ever broadcast actual live-action NSFW child pornography uncensored?
That, and the show has an explicit rule in the series bible that non-Amethyst gems aren't allowed to be shown eating. There was another episode where they storyboarded Garnet lounging back and munching on some popcorn. They had to revise it to remove her eating the popcorn (even though Garnet canonically eats sometimes), so it got turned into an inside joke where she almost eats it, then stops to look at the audience.
Yeah, they snuck the still image on for a single frame per episode and made it transparent.
>Published on Sep 30, 2007
>[Opening to the anime Poptan.]
>Member of Myspace and is a fan of anime? Then join Otaku List. Offical group for Japan lovers.
Jesus.
They wanted the second one as the title card, but figured the censors might not allow it, so they sent the first one in the hopes that, once it got rejected, the censors would accept the "toned down" second one. That didn't work, so they had to go with the third one.
>its like immortality but you don't have to show up every day
I don't know why but this hits me hard in the feels
To show kids cry about the stupidest shit
It became an easter egg that he'd hide in nearly ever episode.
This is just fan animation
>too weak for the cute&funny
What were they thinking?
I still think this is hilarious. Shame it didn't work
The first one was a common technique. Send something you know they will say no to, so what you really want seems much more tame in comparison. It often works actually, but I guess the first one was just too over the top for them to settle with picture number 2
Wait, really? Huh. I always wondered what was going on with that popcorn gag.
It's literally a rejected storyboard that Zuke posted after the episode aired
So it might as well have been a fan animation with how shitty her writing was
Just leave it to jhon k to draw the most fucked up shit
That's Trump's favorite technique.
I honestly think that's a pretty neat drawing even if it clearly wouldn't get on TV. The one right after that with the kids freezing to death is way more fucked up.
>Wake up and smell the Korean ink and paint!
This was too good to ever be made.
Finn is trans?
What episode is that flight attendant joke from? I can never find it.
From the movie they made a year or two after
Burn's funnier anyhow.
Kek
I really love the back and forth improv feel Angry Beavers had.
>"The cartoon-being-over guys run it over and over and they make lots of well-deserved money!"
>"Which they share with the people who made the cartoon right?"
>RAUCOUS LAUGHTER
That killed me.
What was it changed to again?
that and the fact they didnt wanted lola to look tomboyish out of fear that it would look like Bugs was praying on a boy..........no really.
Took me a second
The entire premise of the episode Together Breakfast doesn't make any sense you decide that Gems shouldn't eat. One episode Pearl said that she likes pie, but later on says that he hates eating in general. It's such a simple thing to be consistent about, yet they still fuck it up. Like that one time Pearl controls sand with her mind, but it's never shown or mentioned again.
Well that would be a very Bugs move so I could understand corporate's concern
>Like that one time Pearl controls sand with her mind
I don't remember that ever happening, only it being mentioned in the Keystone Motel leak. What episode?
Giant Woman. Very early on she uses sand to show Steven fusion instead of just projecting a hologram.
Is there a reason Dipper is so angry other than "rofl dark joke"? He never struck me as the violent kind.
This is who his sister who caused the apocalypse wants him to be
She doesn't even have the nerve to like him as he is
But I remember the episode and there wasn't a point where it seemed like Dipper suddenly snapped and became a violent psychopath, so I just wonder at what point in the scene would that joke have taken place where the amped up emotions made sense.
Sire also means to sire children. I'm pretty sure that was the gag. She's basically asking 'you wanna be a daddy?'
>From the movie
What the fuck? how did i miss that
FUCK YOU, DIPPY FRESH
Thanks. Wonder why they didn't keep it?
more like a public disservice, and i ain't even a furry
Each of the other gems except amethyst seems to have some elemental ability. But there's so little focus on action in the show that they rarely bother with any of them.
I bet you thought you were real smart. Embarrassing.
>death stranding gameplay reveal
>QUALITY CONTROL
>meanwhile in japan
Japan has the problem where there are no filters so you get absolutely terrible content. That Do You Love Your Mom & Her Two Multi-point Missile whatever the fuck it's called is proof that they need someone to just curate anime.
If it makes money, who are you to say what should or shouldn't be made? You don't care about curation, you want censorship.
Curation is censorship you numpty. Only curation is removal of parts that SHOULDN'T be in the product for quality purposes.
>dur people enjoy smearing shit on the walls and sticking forks into electrical sockets
>let them have their fun stop telling them it's not acceptable
Censorship is the more honest word. You're pretending it's quality control when really you just don't want to get rid of things that you don't like.
Did I not just say curation is a form of censorship? The big difference is curation is to ensure a product is OF GOOD QUALITY. Like my previous example, having incest as a main theme of a shitty isekei anime is pretty fucking awful, even in concept.
>The big difference
My point is that you're just pretending there's a difference. You don't like it, therefore it shouldn't exist. Get over yourself.
I don't like football, tomatoes and mechas, doesn't mean I want them removed from existence, you tosser.
Nice strawman argument you've got there. You don't like some weird shitty incest anime, then don't watch it. Don't tell other people they shouldn't be allowed to watch it.
Rabbits Run had kind of a weird plot, didn't have the same continuity as The Looney Tunes Show, and wasn't well advertised.
It felt like WB had some early 2000's action/thriller/comedy/romance script lying around that they adapted for Looney Tunes. It's not awful, just not what you'd expect.
>tfw no Tina Russo
Agreed. The undercleavage drawing the guy posted is better than the full on desnuda
My man.
Tbh American television is way less censored than Australia and most of Asia, for CN at least.
Australian CN would edit AT episodes just to avoid a kiss.
Based cum gurgling foreskin flosser.
I was speaking hypothetically
what was that Angry Beavers episode that had "shut up" removed from the end?
PENETRATE LAGOMORPH
but modern family guy style is cinic, cold slightly amused detachment. the meaningless ultraviolence (with 0 lasting consequences) suits it well.
I remember reading somewhere that the censors objected to kim from kimpossible being drawn TOO flat, and wanted boobs on her.
KEK sounds more like Australia.
*cynic
