The decade is almost over. It's time to crown Yea Forums's definitive cartoon of the 2010-2019 decade! Over the next few weeks, I'll host a bracket tournament to determine what cartoon Yea Forums feels represents the ten year stretch. 64 shows will qualify, one will be crowned winner! Here's how nominations work: All you have to do is name a show that has been active in the 2010s. If you see a show you support being on the tourney, you reply to it. Five replies means the show is entered. After enough nomination threads go by, a poll to decide the 64 entries and their seeds will be done.
KEEP IN MIND: ONLY NOMINATE ONE SHOW PER POST, POSTS WITH MORE THAN ONE SHOW DO NOT COUNT.
This might be the last nomination thread if I feel we have a complete list. If not, there will be one more. If we push past 128 shows, I might double up the bracket.
I said this last thread, but if a show last thread got four or less replies, those don't carry over to this thread. Sorry, it's just too much hassle keeping track of how many replies every nomination gets.
Jacob Ortiz
I think you kinda got all the ones anybody wants. But nominating Craig of The Creek anyway. It’s cute.

>best represent the decade I really hope this isn’t how everyone decides to vote. It should be a contest of which is actually the highest quality, not “representation”. I mean, when I think of the 1970s, I think of war, recession, and crime. But when I think of the best things to come from that decade, I think of something else.

I will also make a strong case for Cannon Buster on Netflix. It was created and drawn by an american and only the animation was outsourced. It's technically not anime but is wearing an anime skin.
No it isn’t, and if it was it would be stupid as hell to do a 64 team bracket in the first place. How am I supposed to think a show from 2018 would be more influential then a show from 2010 if it hasn’t had time to develop an impact?
I would not vote for that. It was super popular but turned to pointless dogshit. I stopped watching. You could get a stronger case for steven universe.

Yep, it came out the first several months of 2010. Assume that's why it wasn't nominated the first time around, everyone assumes it came out in the 2000s

OP, you can still put GR15 in the tournament. Just mark it as GR15 and use a stock image if you have to

It would also be a wasted slot anyways. Everyone will just vote for whichever other show it meets in the first round simply for being what it is.
Josiah Harris
There is a lot of garbage but I will support GR15 because it was given it's own board. The amount of autism it causes with this site for existing was embarrassing.
If we’re going influential, I could support GR15 being in there. It won’t win, but it was still a big part of the decade.
Luke Roberts
So wait if we're nominating cartoons that started earlier than the 2010s does that mean I can nominate Spongebob, Arthur, and The Simpsons?
Robert Green

OK. Fuck it. I nominate My Little Pony Friendship is Magic. The show made an impact, whether it was positive or negative doesn't matter. Heck if we are going to ban them becsuse of said Negative Impact, Rick and Morty should also be banned from this tourny.
They deserve some sort of recognition in this tournament. At least them being in the first round will be good enough or even a few good nominations is good enough in my opinion. And if they somehow make it to first round but the mods won't allow it, just bypass the rule by posting a picture of a regular horse.
I'm not saying they should win. Hell in my opinion it should be either Sonic Boom, Samurai Jack, Castlevania, or Aggretsuko. Because I want at least good quality to win.
Look Horse Show is not gonna be in the tourney. Learn coping methods.

Even though it's late to bring up, and it's a fucking longshot if there ever was one, I want to nominate the wonderful French cartoon from 2015 Les Grandes Grandes Vacances (The Long, Long Holiday) as one of the best of the decade.
It's a really enjoyable slice of life with impressive animation that doesn't talk down to kids. The young characters experience the horrors of war firsthand, and come of age under Nazi occupation.
I was introduced to it by a bunch of based Yea Forumsmrades who made it their duty that this great show wouldn't be overlooked, and uploaded every episode with fan-created subtitles. For people that complain about Yea Forums never fulfilling any projects like other boards, Yea Forums's work preserving this show is a stellar achievement that doesn't get brought up enough. Even if it doesn't make it into the tournament, I'll always know it's one of the best shows in years.

People nominating shows that started before this decade are perfectly within their rights, but why make the distinction in the first place if you anticipate people associating them with different decades and not voting for them. Hey Tourneyfag, fuck you, fuck you for saying we need to separate Dofus and Wakfu into different shows. Most of those did not get enough votes. The max is 64 shows. You already have 88 shows in that list. NOMINATING TROLLHUNTERS all 3 seasons.
I am not separating these shows worth a shit and Tourneyfag is close to getting the tourney taken away and handled by somebody else more competent at the last minute. Why the fuck did you post the tourney thread at 6 PM EST?

I'll include it for resarch purposes. Going to host almost the same exact tourney as an experiment. I'm curious how far it would go. For purely experiment reasons I'd separate it into 4 shows and pit it specifically against Gumball, Regular Show, Adventure Time, Steven, Star Vs, TTGO, Clarence, OK KO, etc. because all of these shows share the same fanbases/communities. So they would actually have a hard time deciding one over the other.

1970s was the era where you either fought the system or you were part of the system, so no, it wasn't that great. Yeah, 1980s was an era influenced by toy sales, but you could also see how with that people tried to push new directions in cartoons. 1990s were the era where things radically changed, and where videogames influenced cartoons and viceversa, however, it was also the era where the attitude towards "let's cater to us-I mean, to the 'children' "started fucking cartoons overall. Honestly, the real issue was the middle 2000s where the effects of America getting more tame drastically affected other countries and animation studios as well, but also the fact live action shows were overpushed as well. I feel it was only when Flapjack, and eventually Adventure Time being released that people saw cartoons can be truly anything, but it's just my opinion.
