I was pretty happy with this IDW collection. Lots of cool extras. Not sure that I like the additions that Veitch added later, but the ending is a little better than the original one. Confused why they added gradients into some of the sound effects and Dr Blasphemy's word balloons. I guess they had to change something.

Someone in another thread was asking why Veitch took a long time to continue Maximortal. At the time of the Brat Pack/Maximortal special, it was 1996 or thereabouts, around the time the comics market was feeling the ramifications of the speculation crash and Marvel's buyout of Heroes World, leading to Diamond being sole distributor. Veitch couldn't continue because the terms under doing just Diamond would mean taking a loss on the book, I think.
Boy Maximortal got published in recent years because Veitch found the self-distribution deal on Amazon seemed favorable to him.
