Space Jam/Comic Lola is the best Lola Bunny. The “Jessica Rabbit/Red Hot Riding Hood/Minerva Mink/Hello Nurse” archetype is a valuable straight man position in the main cast of the Looney Tunes, one with a ton of potential in future installments. LTS Lola only works in regards to the very specific sitcom aspects of LTS, and when she is reduced to her basic forms, she is just another generic looney character.

It's from a Looney Tunes TV show that came in 2015, formerly called Wabbit, now called New Looney Tunes. It ended production in like 2017 or 2018 or something, but like never gets aired in the U.S. and so the episodes with Lola in the 3rd and final season are only just making their way onto the internet.

It's not from the new shorts program that began more recently, of which we haven't seen much of anything yet.

Road Runner and Droopy had humor beyond how other characters responded to them, in RR's case the bullshit he did like running through a fake tunnel or with Droopy sometimes just appearing in places he shouldn't be.

Which happens in the comic. Space Jam didn’t have time to make it the Lola show, it was a film. She still provided more potential and a unique role for the dynamic, rather than her showing in LTS which is just turning her into “Generic wacky toon #50037”

TLS Lola didn't do the same thing as the others, within that show she was actually unique in being so wacky, on top of being a character that is actively funny, she also provided new doors for other character via her relationship with Bugs and her parents. Old Lola was just a vehicle for others at absolute best.

Now remove her from the context of a sitcom, something that will never happen to Looney Tunes again and what do you have left? A screwball chaser that happens to be a girl. A worse Fifi la Fume. If Looney Tunes Cartoons (2019) brings back Lola, classic Lola would be far more unique and interesting.

The Mayor gags in PPG are well loved, but the Mayor would be nothing without Sara Bellum. Mandy is rarely funny, but her chemistry with Billy turns the show from laughing with him to laughing at him. Etc etc.

Lola being dumb but dumb in a way that causes other people to suffer instead of herself is a funny and unique take that helps her stand out among the other Looney Tunes and could easily carry a series of shorts on its own. You just need writers who actually know how to be funny. Wabbit is a bad metric for judging her whole character. That show had way more problems than just Lola.

As someone that has actively sought after Looney Tunes merch, no, she does not. Looney Tunes was a merchandising behemoth when Space Jam came out and there were WB Stores everywhere. Now? The sitcom Looney Tunes gave the main comedy duo an opposing elements that they can fuck. Simplified, Lola is female Daffy and Tina is female Bugs. The female cast also play into tropes I don't know name of, but Daffy the loser gets his redemption by getting the competent Tina, and Bugs the flawless is brought down by crazy love interest Lola.

Bug's and Daffy's dynamic is closer to propaganda-styled Goofus and Gallant act, but Lola + Bugs puts the comedic duo on equal field, where they both arrive to hilarious outcome through conflict, and Daffy + Tina is a lovable goofus act, where the main character despite being an idiot and making mistakes, has his happy ending.

How does Yea Forums feel about The Looney Tunes show? I never gave it a chance back when it first aired but recently got through the entire series a couple of months ago and I loved it.

TLS Lola actually had me audibly laughing throughout the episodes and just in general I felt the writing was very decent. I regret not watching it back when it premiered.

I was surprised with how funny the writing was. They did a fantastic job all around, especially with Lola and Daffy.

It was a great take on classic Looney Tunes making it modern and the writers new what they were doing, I loved it.

In my autistic theoretical scenario, Bugs simply doesn’t get what the fuss is about. It’s not that he’s gay, she just doesn’t do it for him. It’s funny because she’s mindblowingly sexy to everyone else and has to keep escalating her thirst and he’s just not impressed. That way you get gags with Lola being pursued, Gags with Lola pursuing and gags with Bugs vs her orbiters.
