Good. Actors should learn to not be woke or put their politics up front
live action movies aren't comics or cartoons
>America's cocksleeve is pro-"freedom"
>supporting CCP
>woke
>woke
retarded polnigger commenting on a situation they haven't even researched, typical
We've done it. We've produced a post more ignorant than the guy that didn't think "the new my little pony show" would get any porn.
>ESLs in charge of reading comprehension
LOL
Maybe she just said this to keep her and her family safe?
Also, I'm boycotting this movie because it looks dull as hell.
>LOL
go back to twitter
Her family is rich, she said it because she's a spoiled brat who meant it
>Also, I'm boycotting this movie because it looks dull as hell.
As someone who never watched one of these after Jungle Book, it's nice that I'm now morally right for not doing so.
>it looks dull as hell
I know right, is there a rule at Disney that all their live action remakes have to be boring as shit?
who cares for korea?
china is what matters disney
What's going to happen with the live action Mulan remake when China's huge debt triggers a bank run and financial crisis that makes the 1997 Asian Financial Crisis look like a clown show?
She's an American citizen. Her family is safe as fuck.
She has easy access to media that's not State-controlled, unlike most people on the mainland.
She said it because she's a fundamentally terrible human being who likes the taste of boots and thinks it's great that the Chinese government is so gosh-darned strong it can crush anyone caught nonconforming.
>Let's take Mushu and the songs out of the movie but add in an evil sorceress
>Mulan has always secretly been training in martial arts and looks dazed all the time
>And Shang can fuck off too
Good, I hope this movie bombs
Give a run down of the situation
I didn't even know that they were doing a live action Mulan. But of course they are.
>woke or put theit politics up front.
>or put your politics up front.
Gotta hang in there until period, even when there is a conjunction.
I'll take the bait and say you're wrong in that adaptions are clearly fine, but at this point you can't really call this an adaption of the animated movie, Mulan, especially if their excuses for outright changing the story, tone and characters are "Oh, we're adapting the original story of Mulan that the animated movie that just about everybody loved butchered and made offensive"
There's not much to it.
Disney's made a new Mulan movie.
China was ramping up their efforts to dismantle Hong Kong's democracy by getting the puppet government to pass a law that would allow China to extradite anyone to China for "reasons", protesters got fed up of China's bullshit and started some of the largest protests in history, and China's responded about how you'd expect China to respond. Every protester is a terrorist, dishonors their family, and deserves to lose an eye to the police.
Star of Mulan was born in China and spent a lot of time there, but was educated in the US and got US citizenship.
She's gone on Chinese social media to say she supports China's response and basically the protesters have it coming to them.
tldr: rich pampered bitch loves totalitarian governments and thinks people afraid of losing their democracy need to sit down and shut up. Brought to you by Disney!
Have you listened to these people? Eventually they will start talking about means and production and how farmers deserve to be in gulags when they don't burn their crops or eat their children when they are starving.
I'm not actually kidding, communism is the devil's government.
>Disney makes a woke decision by casting Ariel black
>This happens
AHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Lot of black dudes complained about the new Little Mermaid movie when they learned the Price was still gonna be white guy
>sorceress
A mongolian hun sorceress?
The worst part is that she is a naturalized citizen. That means she eats, breaths, and drinks american values.
Nothing about changing the rules to allow the same system that literally disappeared two arch bishops and the head of interpol sounds like it follows those values.
It's not a stranger. There are lots of immigrants from mainland China who have citizenship / green card of western countries but still pro dictatorship value of PRC and dis the Hong Kong / Taiwan people fighting for their rights and freedom. They only care their own rights / interests and don't give a fuck to other people's suffering.
Lol, not like anyone would watch this shit, after they changed most of the stuff in it.
Didn't Harry Styles back down from the role?
The funny thing is that Disney creates Mulan to compensate for the fact that The Little Mermaid isn’t going to do well in China because of the black lead. Disney was even too scared to cast black actors in this Mulan, fearing that it would bomb in China. And now this shit happens.
no black guys didn't complain because they dont give a shit about it. black women did and the story didn't look good from a racial perspective, white man civilizes black mermaid who is mute.
Black panther exist poltard. Aladdin did well too.
If they remove all MCU posts in the future I'd take that, but that they sticky MCU shit shows that it's not something they follow by
the people of hong kong deserve their freedom from ch*nese tyranny
>poltard
Where did that come from? You do know that Black Panther’s movie posters were censored in China, right? Same with deleting Finn off of Star Wars posters.
I'm willing to bet she has some family and friends of family still in China. And even billionaires can get "disappeared" by the Party if they don't fall in line.
She might truly believe it because of Party propaganda, but speaking ill of the Party can get you killed so there's no way to tell. It'd be stupid to trust other countries to protect you. They might throw you under the bus with extradition. Ever want to visit China again or do business with anyone there, much less appeal to the China box office? Better toe the Party line.
Even countries like the U.S. offer incentives for pro-military propoganda in its films. This isn't that odd
black guys complain because they don’t give a shit about black women
You could always say something about peace and law or something. There is no need to pick a side.
It's not even the Mulan that everyone knows. It's just a Chinese targeted movie, taking advantage of Disney brand name.
But, somehow muster up the energy to call black women "Bed Wenches" who fall in love with White me- Oh, I'm sorry, I mean "Slave master~".
Someone should actually post what she said
Supposedly a lot of other celebrities in China are saying the same thing, right sown to word choices so it could just be ehat you're saying
Chinks are really cliquey, If you're not in their family. group of friends you might as well not exist.
They know the Hong Kongers can't win
They can't win but they can certainly turn the global public against the mainland, if they havent already
>Support the radical Left in America by blackwashing preexisting characters
>Support the radical Left in China by shitting on Hong Kong demonstrators
It's all internally consistent.
Yeah, and that'll last until there's a Democrat in the White House and suddenly all will be forgiven and America will pour resources into making China a superpower. Just like last time.
Ah yes, fuck that Democrat bastard Nixon for starting this mess!
>Protest for independence
>Using Imperial British flags
Am...am I on the right medication?
>bbc.co.uk
>Protests over the Hong Kong democracy movement have spread across the globe, with rallies taking place in the UK, France, US, Canada and Australia.
Anywhere there's a significant Chinese population (a lot of cities around the world), you're going to have HK vs China protests and counter protests
And yes, stuff like live action Mulan is going to be a political football.
Got any Chinese cartoons? They're going to have to pick a side too.
It's pretty ugly that some Chinese have the protected rights and freedom in overseas countries, but still try hard to defend CCP's totalitarianism with nationalism and suppress the freedom of expression of anti-Beijing group. It's much worse than the Russian who escaped from Soviet Union during cold war. They have better to be repatriated to their own country soon.
That'll do nothing. Something people never seem to understand is that China don't care about anything but China.
Expats tend to be pretty damn 'proud' of the country they left.
Something to set them apart from their neighbors I suppose.
So Chinese people living outside of China unironically support whatever the CCP does to the people living there, partly because they want to prove how Chinese they are, and because they don't have to experience it themselves.
It is ugly, and I wonder how many of the pro-CCP people would change their minds, if they were living under CCP rule.
So you basically brought up being "woke" for literally no reason other than that you want to complain about people being "woke". What the fuck is "woke"? Isn't that just another way to say "redpill"?
Chinese cartoons or "Chinese" cartoons? because the Nips are constantly poking fun at China.
She's starring in a popular disney movie, I don't think the chinese government wants that kind of media spotlight over her suddenly getting candlejacked
Tienanmen was after Nixon you brainlet
That's a disjunction.
Good riddance.
They are saying that even under British rule it's better than under Chinese.
Considering how evil the British empire was, especially in that region, big oof. But that's one way to stick it to the Pooh.
PRC's Cultural Revolution in 60-70s is much worse than Tienanmen. Mao's kill count is over the total death in WW2 and obviously overwhelmed Stalin and Hitler.
I didn't watch the cartoon, but isn't the whole story in China? Why would they cast black actors?
cool thread
take it to /pol/
Mods, do your jobs
At least British bought the western values, management and development skills along with judicial standards to those colonized places. After British left, almost all the countries in Africa or Asia were getting worse. The only exception may be Singapore because they have Lee Kuan Yew.
>places get worse when white people leave
user, that's racist. Besides, Zimbabwe is thriving.
i mean, there is good reasoning.
>treat nonwhites as secondary citizens and as a servant class
>be surprised when everything is fucked up after you leave
it's actually le hwite mans burden seeing nonwhites as children and being "an overprotective parent" that did everything so their children didnt learn
you do know that as a celebrity (that's not international tier) you need to officially support the party?
>The only exception may be Singapore because they have Lee Kuan Yew.
Plus, the place was VERY prosperous compared to their surrounding areas - one of the major factors of Singapore's separation from the Malaysian Federation IIRC was due to disputes over taxation implemented state-wide which seemed burdening on Singapore (Singapore was a metropolis island whose economy relied on shipping and banking services while Peninsular Malaya was still agriculture- and industry-based).
If the protesters really want absolute neutrality in their symbolism, there is another option...
>The central element of the design - the bauhinia x blakeana (HK orchid) flower - is preserved. The original red color and the five stars in the flower were thought by me to be overly inspired by the flag of mainland China. I thus replaced the red color with fuchsia as seen from the former HK Urban Council, which would be a color that better resembles the color of the HK orchid flower. I also replaced the stars with another design rather than removing it simply for aesthetics. Former colonial design elements were intentionally avoided.

(Sorry for going off course - I'm just really fascinated in symbolic design, especially with regards to practical media like flags.)
Tiennamen was under HW Bush though, and he wasn’t a Democrat
Went to Hong Kong many years ago, spoke to a good number of people about British rule, and they weren't fans... but every time they would look over their shoulders and say that China was way way way worse.
Britain treated Hong Kong people like second-class citizens, even near the end.
China showed up not wanting to treat them like citizens at all, just property.
wasn't Mulan about fighting for China? The hong kong police isn't an issue as much as for Chinese intervention. cringe btw.
She's not cool with modern China
Screw this, I was just here to buy fireworks!
Compare the box office of Korea and Hong Kong to China's and tell me why Disney should give a fuck
You also have America, which is all about freedom
but would western woke personalities even bother to voice their displeasure at Disney by this point? would it even matter?
If you love China so much, you should move there.
Well, actually, South Korea IS an important market, MCU movies have large hauls in there. That's something important to note, you don't want to piss off sources of revenue. For example Mexico had the largest international box office result for Toy Story 4 outside of the United States, and tickets can cost as low as $2 on average with $5-9 being the highest they can get.
Normally I think it's dumb to boycott over some actor not being PC or whatever.
But this is a situation where China is so clearly evil and clearly there's no political will in the rest of the world to do anything.
>They are saying that even under British rule it's better than under Chinese.
Except it wasn't. Lots of people actually died in the riots you saw under British colonial rule. And the current problems in HK of the plutocratic night watchmen state was birthed during British rule.
The real source of trouble are the billionaires in HK who made their money off of the out of control real estate prices and who have fucked the city first under the British and now under the Mainalnd. They control the levers of power. Even if you get rid of Beijing, you can't get rid of those guys and they are ones that are squeezing the poor and the younger generations. They control LegCo and the Chief Executive.
Plutocrats balance themselves on the stability of the real powers.
They support them, but they aren't them.
Real power is still that of lawmakers.
>Tiennamen was under HW Bush though
And they got heavily scorned for it instead of our government mollycoddling them.
>Except it wasn't. Lots of people actually died in the riots you saw under British colonial rule.
Don't look at the commie state government of China death rate then because it will blow your retard heart out.
>something about peace and law
Didn't she say that in the tweet?
Law is a commodity, user. Especially in underdeveloped countries.
What tweet?
The actress posted "I support the Hong Kong police. You can all attack me now. What a shame for Hong Kong" on Chinese twitter.
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA faggots BTFO itt
It's really not.
What is the fucking problem? Are people forgetting that Mulan fought for The Emperor and against enemies of her country? For fucks sake everyone looks at Disney flicks through nostalgia goggles and nothing else.
I mean is a boycott really gonna do anything substantial if China is gonna push it over a billion anyways? Sure it could have made more without one, but the Chinese market could carry this film by itself.
>Are people forgetting that Mulan fought for The Emperor and against enemies of her country
Correct, which is why it's a big deal why the retard actress supported the CCP instead of the Chinese Empire
>America is making communist propaganda now
That's sad.
LA has been commie since the early 30s. Shit the Kremlin was sending a million dollars in funds to Hollywood up until the fall of the Union. McCarthy and Walt didn't go far enough to stop those Commie fucks.
>CCP
She supports the Chinese Communist Party?
Just to be clear to counter the KEEP HER FAMILY safe horseshit propaganda that is seen all over the internet: Her father was a diplomat that worked for Chinese government his entire career and her godfather is the chairman of a high profile Chinese investment group and is one of the wealthiest men in China. Celebs in China aren't in fucking danger, they support the Chinese government because to be a celeb in China you have to be part of it.
If Trump got to handpick every actor in Hollywood they wouldn't not criticize him because they want to be safe, they would not criticize him because they would be his friends.
When the fuck is China gonna get on Yea Forums? Their "online influencing" shit is about 100 times the size of Russia's and we get nothing here.
I'm pretty sure it's not part of a boycott if you are refusing to see it just because it looks boring.
>its woke to support China
Stick to telling people to cope and dilate.
>no eddie murphy
>no lucky cricket
>no ancestor spirits
>probably no a girl worth fighting for or be a man
>3d adaption of didney moovee cash grab
Why would anyone be compelled to go see this at all?
Korea doesn't matter anyway. And why the hell does Korea care about Hong Kong?
You should read a book some time. Seriously.
What wealthy Chinese do is schedule a vacation to the United States right when their pregnant wives are about ready to pop and boom, American citizen.
There are hotels all up the west coast that specifically cater to this, offering Chinese language staff and on call midwife's.
China can't collapse into it's Warlord phase fast enough
That's how bad the ChiComs are
Also Hong Kong and the new territories prospered under British rule
The railroad Chinese in America were basically sold off as slaves and most of the were fucking determined never to go back ever again.
He knows, 50 cent army is out in force, because of both Hong Kong and the breakdown in trade talks.
Also this interesting little tidbit.
>China can't collapse into it's Warlord phase fast enough
Now that is some HEAVY wishful thinking
>51 million people doesn't matter
>money doesn't matter
faggot are you for real
Did you forget Obamas "pivot to east" and how much of a failure that was?
It always happens.
Especially as the ChiComs continue to centralized in massive hive cities they are going to start to get pushback from the more rural areas.
Winnie the Pooh recently downsized (read purged) the People Liberation Army with an eye toward preventing that sort of thing.
See what happened to Fanbingbing last year. After she returened she suddenly became pro CCP and One china policy
His foreign policy in general was kind of a mess.
>Especially as the ChiComs continue to centralized in massive hive cities they are going to start to get pushback from the more rural areas.
This is facepalm tier retardation from someone who literally knows nothing about the chinese, just wants to screech at them.
Yes wealthy Chinese Nationals are desperately trying to get their cash out of the country and converted to USD because everything is fine mind your own business
Strangely it is like people have already forgotten about this
>if he doesnt adhere to my ignorant headcanon about the workings of the world he must be one of THEM!!
Also, its the chinese government who keeps buying up dollar reserves and american national debt, because it gives them strategic leverage. No one is "desperately" trying to get their money out of a country that had a double digit grow in most relevant fields for the past 20 years
>Also, its the chinese government who keeps buying up dollar reserves and american national debt, because it gives them strategic leverage.
Dude keep up they just started selling it all off.
Yeah, in response of trump trying to get Huawei banned on complaints from Apple.
I hope China and US just kill each other so rest of the world can be happy. Free tibet free hongkong free macau free taiwan free hawaii free puetro rico free native americans make texas mexican again
They have been banned for like a year.
They haven't actually, just close to it.
They actually do, laddercuck
>It's not a stranger.
What?
Amerimutt mega corps are so fucking cucked. Literally they can't make anything without chink consumers
This kills the Ghost Rider
>Every international hollywood movie for general audiences has to cut back on the things that won't sit well with China like the paranormal, among other things.
