Why isn't she in the Justice League? Do they have a diversity quota that they need to fulfill that forbids them from having more than two Atlanteans or something?
Why isn't she in the Justice League...
She was for a brief bit when Arthur went missing. The problem is that we need to stop thinking of The Justice League as just 7 people and more of a huge organization like JLU. Creating stories focusing on random hero arrangements keeps things fresh and doesn't force the writer to burn themselves out on ridiculous threats that require the main 7 all the time.
>that guy who brings his gf to the group
She's been in the JL to fill in whenever Aquaman is out of commission (She was for a pretty big chunk of Hitch's run). I still think she is since Aquaman is preoccupied with other shit in KSD's run.
>diversity quota
>Atlantis is treated like a race when it's literally all white people
>everyone calls Aquaman "half-breed"
>nobody ever states the obvious that Tom and Atlanna was a breach of class, not race
Atlanteans are clearly a different race of people, they even have different organs
If the interior is completely different and so is the environment then couldnt they be classified as a different species.
Presumably, one of them has to stay at home to rule.
Isnt she currently in the JL?
>The problem is that we need to stop thinking of The Justice League as just 7 people
truer words have never been spoken
i'm sure that some great jl runs exist somewhere but they'll never actually happen because dc and fans can't get over the "big 7" mentality and side jl books don't last more than 2-3 years anymore
You know what's really neat that I just realized about Jason Momoa? The further back in his acting career you go the more he just looks like a shitty cosplay of his later roles.
I'd kill for a weekly JLU style book that uses different heroes.
Weird thing? That's how the Justice League works in the Wonder Twins book. There the organization is huge, and heroes are coordinated depending on threat and availability. There's even a gag where it shows one panel with the 7 all appearing to stop ONE bank robber, where in another panel Black Lighting is on the phone complaining that they sent him to stop a giant sea monster attacking a cruise ship
I agree with this 100% as much as I love the main leaguers I wanna see weird teams so much more
Give me... I dunno SwampThing, Vigilante and Mary Marvel for an issue or two and then jump to.... Plasticman and Steel
Always felt like they wanted to keep a powerhouse in Atlantis at all times to protect their kingdom and Atlantis only has like two high level heroes sooo
They are 100% treated as a different species
So.. Brave and the Bold? Honestly miss team-up books.
....please dont make me want to read wonder twins
Is that how the brave and the bold comic handles it? Cuz I haven't read it yet and I might just have to
Why not? It's a fun book. It's even getting extended and picking back up in September. It's written by the same guy as The Flintstones comic, Mark Russell
Not really because that implies a regular character teaming up with random people. In JLU the spotlight would constantly change up. One episode was a Seven Soldiers of Victory homage, while another was random selections like Green Arrow, Supergirl, Captain Atom, and Green Lantern stopping a giant robot.
The early original Brave and the Bold was random team-ups. Lots of first appearances of DC concepts in it.
Then, around issue 67 of the original series, it swapped to be a Batman + Guest team-up book.
It ran until #200 like that, with often really silly stories (in ran during the Batman '66 TV show after all).
The last time they tried an ongoing in the late 2000s it was mostly random team-ups. The first couple had an ongoing story to them though.
The flintstones comic was great, tho it had a pretty inconsistent tone. Far from the worst thing a comic has suffered from tho it felt jarring once or twice
Alright I'll probably give it a shot at some point
Sounds rad. I'll look into it
This is why you need to support books like The Terrifics and the new Metal Men coming up. Vote with your wallet.
Every time they try to do an anthology style book it flops. Not just DC, but also Marvel. Marvel just had a team-up book with Spider-Man and Kamala in it, and it's actually already been cancelled.
DC's last bigger attempt was back in 2016 with Legends of Tomorrow. That had old talent working on third-string characters (Metal Men, Firestorm, and fucking Sugar-and-Spike), and it bombed.
No one likes Ms. Muslim
I bought Legends of Tomorrow. Was entertaining.
She is. Or at least she's been hanging around with them a lot lately.
Technically that's how the JL is in the canon right now, it's just the main members the main JL book follows are it's "Core" but even in like Hawkman's book he says he's a member of the Justice League, I think officially their like "backup" "reserve" or whatever members or something like that.
Mera's a member of the Justice League right now.......
She would accuse Batman or Flash of domestic abuse or something
Someone needs to make sure Atlantis doesn't get involved in a civil war.
She would backhand Batman or Flash through the wall.
Batman sure, but Flash only if he's in jobbing mode (but really that applies to every JLer vs the Flash)
>only if he's in jobbing mode
So she'd definitely backhand Flash through the wall considering it would be a JL book.
I don't want it to be an anthology book with nothing but Z listers like that but a weekly like Batman Eternal. You would have rotating team's matched up with a regular league member but with a bigger plot running through the whole thing JLU style.
I liked JLA Rebirth
Right so one story with Flash and a few B-D listers and then next story it’s a Green Lantern with his group. This rotating format will save the JLA book, and give writers all the more freedom
Looks interesting
Meh, couldn’t get into it
>Batman bossing heroes around
>Killer Frost is a hero only because of CW synergy
>Lobo being there
At least Vixen was doing things I guess. What the hell happened Caitlin?
Why isn't she sitting on my face?
Snyder and Whedon are unimaginative idiots?
you can't do it in a throw away/secondary book, its got to be the main JL book.
this is what snyders justice league book should be like. it would also make the horse shit about perpetua a lot easier to swallow if the arcs were cut shorter and wish got some B-D lister action in between as secondary plot lines.
The same should happen in the other league books like Odssey and Dark
That would be Hawkman
Too much drama with her and Depp accusing each other of abuse.
Superman and Mera pairing when.
DCs editorial is too stupid and full of millennial bugmen to do something like this.
The biggest fuck up they made, was trading out the silver age retards for tumblrite lefty yes men and trannies who cant keep track of continuity
Right I'm saying this should be the main JL book. Get rid off of the fat too, by cancelling JLD, Outsiders, and whatnot. Furthermore with one book with a huge Justice League, managing canon becomes all the easier.
However there are issues with this format. For example, DC couldn't charge for so many books, and some fans will complain about what characters get spotlight
