Magic eyes.

fpbp

in American media.

Name five cartoons with magic eyes.

Super genius scientist

Jungle Book
Totally Spies
Space Ghost Coast to Coast
Futurama
Gemusetto Machu Picchu

If by that you mean a super over-used power, flight.

I don't fully understand your question and you didn't even spell trope right. What are magic eyes in Japanese media? Some kind of power that's overdone and made to be strong? If that's what you're looking for then telepathy. It can do pretty much anything the writer wants.

Superman
The powerpuff girls

I do not think it is over done in anime.
Most of it is from Naruto.
Having fire as a power tho, this is overdone to an extreme.

so is this guy going to get an epic power up like this fella?

Peak Human

You don’t watch much anime then.

Aqua teen hunger force

On the contrary, i do.
Most mecha/sci fi anime do not contain eye powers, neither do most isekai.
It is not even common in shonen battle series.
But hey, give your examples.

What are magic eyes?

can those eyes:
give you 360 degree vision
give you x-ray vision
give you super vision
allow you to copy the magic moves of any of your opponents
give you access to a super hypnosis that is able to put someone into a trance where time is able to feel like days of torture when its only been seconds
give you access to use fire that is so powerful it takes days for it to extinguish
enter the mind of someone else and give them false memories
give you access to a giant flaming spirit mecha that is also indestructible
give you the power to read minds and extract souls from your opponent
allow you to make your body mechanical
allow you to summon legendary monsters that are also immortal
give you the power to also summon the king of hell who can also take souls but also heal you when you enter his mouth
allow you to control gravity
allow you to absorb the power from any of your opponent's attacks and send it back at them
give you the ability to create receivers that are able to control the bodies of 6 other niggas and unify all their eyesight so you're able ot see out of 6 different niggas
and also give you the power to revive all the people in a city you just destroyed?

any western character with eyes that can do any of that?
no?
western media really needs to up their eye power gain, they're embarrassing themselves

Attached: 1503287042547.png (1280x931, 775K)

Feels like Darkseid can do any of that shit with his Omega Beams.

i also forgot to give you the power to warp reality
and allow you to create a dimension you can hop in and out from, but also use as a weapon because you're able ot just teleport peoples limbs into the dimension

50 Calibur rifles

Fuck I forgot about stupid swirly-eye hypnotism.

Contact lenses don't count.

Isn't that shit just unique to Naruto (and even in-universe, to like one or two dudes)?

There’s an entire race of aliens who can do all of that, user.

I think the point of his post was to list only naruto eye magics.

magic swords

only 360-degree vision is exclusive to Byakugan, but they also have x-ray vision, the best x-ray vision. They stay relatively properly power scaled and their techniques revolve around building off the Byakugan, not giving them a laundry list of bullshit abilities that have nothing to do with eyesight

The Sharingan before it Mangekyou Sharingan just has chakra vision, supervision, and copy abilities.
Once you get the Mangekyou Sharingan EVERYONE who has it gets access to being able to use the giant flame mecha, but EVERYONE also gets access to their very own super magic power that they just learn and no one else is able to have. They're that special, I think its two super special magic powers too, one for each eye.
I think the super fire is also something everyone gets but not sure
They don't learn this shit, they just get it.

Then is the Rinnengan, which is most of the bullshit on that list get this, the Rinnengan is also an advanced version of the Sharingan

How would charaters like Madara or Itachi fare in Marvel? Cause I feel they'd be an oddly good fit to the darker version of it.
Hell, Itachi interacting with Spider-Man and Deadpool sound hella interesting, specially if Deadpool underestimates him, only to end up in a trace while Itachi just casually walks away.|

ghost rider tier

Stop shilling your edgy weebshit

Overuse of the Mangekyou sharingan will make the user go blind though.... weeeelllll until you transplant someone else's Mangekyou into your head and you unlock the Eternal Mangekyou which allows infinite use of the granted abilities.

Speak English

>Implying naruto needs shilling
>Implying Yea Forums is a place people come to sell their product
Damn son, your sub 50 iq really worked hard to press those keyboard buttons, didn't they?

I'm unnerved by the slight chance this post could've been made unironically.

Not even joking, I particularly dislike anything after the original Naruto but I feel the idea of Itachi in marvel could be interesting, because they are characters that operate in a much different mindset than most marvel characters.

Well, he'd probably be the equivalent of it just that his eyes don't just burn sinners, but basically anyone he wants-With the downside that he is limited with that power. Still, he has enough genjutsus that do not rely on his eyes that he'd probably be able to survive without overusing them. Although I feel his black fire could probably take down most physical characters, Hulk included.

It’s really not interesting. At all.

There's a lot of blind warriors in other Japanese media so its kind of funny how Naruto has nothing like that. I mean you would think being blind but also having access to magic powers might give you some kind of advantage in other ways given the right circumstances
Like in Avatar with Toph

But I realized, you don't have that shit because Naruto is all about genetic superiority and wanking to how being born special means you'll eventually become Ninja Jesus God President

That means people with disabilities don't stand a fucking chance. Being disabled in the Naruto verse is basically the end of the world for a Ninja. Look at Guy

Neo in RWBY

>Although I feel his black fire could probably take down most physical characters, Hulk included.
anyone with a hax healing factor could probably live with it until it goes out, that includes the Hulk

>Although I feel his black fire could probably take down most physical characters, Hulk included.
Kek, no.

Attached: 8A19D80B-2286-4008-B31F-EA6FB4AF4384.jpg (1280x705, 132K)

But that's the thing, the fire is stated to never fade. If anything the Hulk would be perpetually burning, and if he tries to do something like ramming into Itachi he'd probably mess with him to the point he becomes a liability for the avengers rather than anything else.

Just get Strange to turn it off.

I was about to say that Itachi would have an easier time considering he'd be like a Xavier but as a speedster, but then I remember he might not even think the helmet would protect him until it's too late. Although Itachi's jutsus work through one's sight rather than aiming at the head, as the cartoon lead me to believe.
Any user that could enlighten me on how the helmet supposedly works?

Attached: uchiha_itachi_news.jpg (540x824, 147K)

Getting bite by some radioactive thing
Radiation in general

It’s more like the fire wont stop Juggernaut at all, considering the dude’s pretty invulnerable to anything that’s not a psychic attack.

Attached: 5D9536D2-7928-4530-B3F3-554F99E9FCE3.jpg (1634x1920, 359K)

Have you seen more than 2 anime before

I mean yeah I did say his black fire could take MOST of the physical attackers, not all. But Itachi would resort to mindfucking first before throwing the big guns, which is something I'm sure the cartoons heavily emphasized as Jug's one weakness. The thing is the helmet blocked shit for reasons, but there's two massive holes for eyes that Itachi could probably use to dominate his brain. So while the black flames might not be effective, making him go bananas or putting him to sleep will certainly do the trick-Specially since Itachi is relatively fast and nimble.

Of course if Juggernaut gets close enough with none of Itachi's jutsus getting through he's basically fucked. It all comes down to if he'd be able to figure out that the helmet needs to go first before Juggernaut turns him into pancake-if the helmet would even help him in that situation.

rwby

Laser eyes

isn't juggernaut currently hunting down the six chaos emeralds/gems

Nah, the helmet protects him from mental shit.

So it'd be a thing if Itachi could figure out in time that the helmet is protecting his mind before he gets turned into mush, cause once its off it's basically game for Itachi.

Weren't those Sasuke last power up in Naruto and now some sub-villians has them too, why the fuck are power levels so stupid in naruto's world

Eh, if he can take it off before Juggernaut creams him. And sometimes he doesn’t even need the helmet depending how Cytorrak feels.

seePlease provide some shows other than naruto.

So it'd be a 50/50 with all circumstances, but not impossible. Although they'd both cover each other's bases And considering Jean Gray is a thing he'd not be the worst character.

Name a sexier character in media. And I don't just mean Western media, I mean media in general.

You literally can't

Only thing I can think of are mutations

easy, next.

Attached: rw2aqbjcih.jpg (231x400, 25K)

What is literally the western equivalent of Naruto?

Code geass
Hunter x Hunter
Yu yu hakusho
Katekyo hitman reborn
All of these: tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/MagicalEye?from=Main.MagicEye

Itachi still has substitution and most ninjas are fast as fuck in naruto

Spider-Man. Adored by many, solid concepts and interesting villains. Good execution at the start but went downhill way too hard, too fast.

That too, he'd be extremely nimble and could probably toy around with the Jug while studying what the fuck is going on.

Did Neji and Sasuke even make eye contact in the entire series? You'd think Neji would square up with Sasuke over bullshit ideologies and bloodlines. But no he gets mad at Naruto over "How dare you to defend my shitty stepsister, why didn't you let me murder her in cold blood in front of everyone?"

Neji would have whooped Sasuke's ass... in the initial series. After that, it's so fucking one-sided for Sasuke it's disgusting.

Psychic powers

Ghost Rider has Magic Eye Sockets.

>in Japanese media?
you mean in just 1 show?
i've never seen characters get powers just from eyes in another other show but naruto

Didn't the Byakugan get a small pseudo power up during Pain Arc? Like those Lion Fists look cool and look like they have some plot armor that can counter some Sharingan bs. Or you could write the Byakugan to have immunity to Genjutsu or Spider-Sense bullshit.

Most street level heroes like Spider-Man can avoid machine gun fire casually. Fast as fuck is only relative

No. That was just some tangentially-related jutsu that Hinata developed. In the manga, it does literally nothing. In the anime, it just looks like it hits Pain harder than she otherwise would.

The only true power-up the Byakugan ever gets is from that (unfortunately now canon) movie where Toneri steals Hanabi's eyes and basically co-ops the Rinnegan. Unfortunately the circumstances required to make that evolution happen are so fucking specific it's unlikely to ever make another appearance.

Pretty much yeah. Basically you’re never gonna beat Juggernaut in a straight fight unless you’re really amped by something powerful.

Code geass was psychic powers, bro. That's like saying Kamehamehas are hand powers.

thank god for Naruto filler arcs. If you like a random side character good news, they have an entire 12 episode arc dedicated to fluffing them up.

True but it’s not like Juggernaut’s thing is speed and agility.

Then you haven't seen very many anime

Doctor Doom consciousness transfer trick.

yeah and how does juggernaut fair against spider-man on a good day

Ok then I'll switch it out with d gray man

So all anime you are looking at is shonen and now you project that to being over saturation.
Its like saying flying powers is overdone in movies, and only pointing at super hero movies.
Anime is a vast fucking medium, 10-20 shows is not overdoing things.

name 1 other anime where the basis of power gain is primarily from the eyes not just people who happen to have eye powers
at this point in naruto where there's more than 10 different things eye powers can do then that's a basis for power generation

Itachi is the best character in that show.

Yeah, thats the one.

Not really, I'd say Gay, Lee and Madara are much higher on the list of interesting characters.

Eye powers you say?

pfft, she's not even the best girl in her own setting

Attached: temari_en_shippuden.jpg (640x480, 32K)

Hey user, let's play a game. Look at the birthday of your parents and yours. If they are 9 months apart congratulations. Because Bort is 9 months apart from Hinata's. Do of that what you will

Shikamaru had good taste.

In comic books it's being an expert fighter.
Literally every single fucking character these days knows 20 different techniques on a master level

Well, you'd pretty much have to be about that good to not die like a dog on the streets. If Batman weren't a super-ninja who's mastered twenty different martial arts, do you really think he would have lived to see 30? It's a necessary requirement for a superhero without powers.

>model-esque, busty, insanely hot, demure, feminine, sweet, and eventually goes on to be a patient and dutiful mother and wife

>Temari

Attached: 55.jpg (408x439, 45K)

Omega Beams are really just honing beams that teleports the target upon contact. And they are essentially dead until Omega Beam them back.

>model-esque, busty, insanely hot, demure, feminine, sweet, and eventually goes on to be a patient and dutiful mother and wife
forgot to mention the personality of a bowl of rice

Attached: 1403242234528.jpg (1034x1529, 473K)

That's the best part. Who wants a lippy, opinionated woman?

Wrong!

Well the Omega Effect In general

Ultraboy is stronger than Superboy?

Anybody who has even a little bit of confidence?

She gets that later. She's a fairly obtuse mother. I find it funny that Hinata becomes the taskmaster and Sakura is the one who lets her kid get away with murder.

chads do
>wanting the idle space that is hinata instead of a feisty blonde with whom you can engage in flirty banter

Attached: 8d51bb64f509995fed469e1db446b7ce.jpg (1137x640, 53K)

I think they’re saying you don’t have confidence because you like Hinata.

Have you really never even heard of a story called "Nothing Can Stop the Juggernaut!"?

Yeah your average street thugs are totally dangerous enough to justify all that.
It's embarrassing and cringey. It'd be one thing if it was just Batman, Cap, daredevil, maybe a few more. But virtually every single god damn character, powers or not, does this shit.
Characters that aren't literal masters at everything they do are better characters. But nah we gotta have our army of Olympic triathlon Mensa geniuses that are near universally uninteresting.
Like is this shit supposed to be for babies or not? Because this kind of shit is for babies

Yep.
Welcome to the world of Shonen power creep, where the last big bad guy would get decimated with the wave of the new bad guys hand.

Except the Hulk with Celestial technology

I swear I've seen a silver or bronze-age villain with almost this exact gimmick.

basic eye beams of various sorts are really popular in Yea Forums media tho.

Not a cartoon but Homestuck has a few examples of this really

Japanese cartoons have characters with overpowered abilities people wish they could have in real life.

Nothing new man

Shiki vs shiki. Which one wins? What if they weren't allowed to call upon their friends? Would it be like a gentleman's duel with whoever cuts who first wins.

Attached: shiki.jpg (240x300, 17K)

Who the fuck is this guy?

Didn't know Superman is a Japanese cartoon character.

Shiki from Tsukihime

Eye beams/Heat vision

If you paid attention to 60's DC half the characters in them were stronger than Superman.
