And this is the last part of the story. The scene is interlaced with the other story of the Boys getting together. I get why the show didn't have her blow Homelander so as to have him seem like the only good one to anyone who hasn't read or heard about the comic, but they could have had A Train at least join in.

Wouldn't really make sense for Show A-Train to do it. He's a lot more level-headed and pragmatic than the comic version was and probably recognizes how much trouble a rape accusation could cause for him.

And when he confronts her about it and she's in tears and he walks away from her, the narration explicitly states that he knows what she's saying is true about him still loving her and not wanting to walk away, but he finds the gumption to put one foot in front of the other anyway.

Later, as they meet again in Hughie hometown, he also tells her point blank that he doesn't see being able to get back with her, because he can't see himself being with anyone who did what she did. And that it might not be particularly fair of him, but it's how he feels and he can't help it.

Of course, he breaks down and apologizes to her for every nasty thing he said as they're leaving and he laments being unable to show his affection to his adoptive parents. As they try to make it work, he finds himself unable to perform physically as the memory still looms.

So in short, eh, I'd probably take her back. She could fly me up real and I could slam it to her in the clouds, that'd be neato.

In the comic, I felt like Homelander came up with the whole thing and A-Train joined in because no one is going to say no to the Homelander. The Boys' art was only bad towards the beginning just because Darick Robertson's style didn't really fit well with it. Once Russ Braun starting doing the illustrations (i.e. OP's pic) it got a lot better.
